The Manager 8.15pm
-
Thanks for that....recorded it
-
I hope they ask him the questions that the fans would ask him, rather than some shite. Transfers in and out, plans and aspirations, how mahusive the football club is.
-
and are you actually signing Adebayor? Where is he? is he still at The Belfry? Come on Tim, spill
-
If you had a gun would you have shot the snake Delph?
-
The Manager 8.15pm
And tomorrow at 1730 & Friday at 1445 & Sat at 1645 & Sun at 2330.
-
Do they think anyone will be watching at 16.45 on Saturday? Just as full-time scores are rolling in? Especially as we're one of the 3 o'clock games?
-
Just spot this 5 minutes before. Thanks for it and added it to series link so I can see all the managers :) Better be subtitled ;)
-
arrrrrggggghhhhhh nope :(
No subtitles :(

Ask yourself how else you could vent for being 0-3 down away to PL virgins Bournemouth after 85 minutes....

I thought he came across very well. I think he's learning all the time.

Anything interesting re transfers etc?
-
Well, he stated having a big or good personality can't remember which was one important ingredient in becoming a manager. The other thing was that having a belief in what you are doing and to follow that through with all the back room staff fully aware of what was required being essential too. Can't argue with any of that really. He has the personality bit in abundance. The "plan" remains to be seen. It came across that he fully knows what he wants in any player he brings in to achieve the plan with a heavy reliance on who his chief scout recommends. I can't remember his name but he apparently knows exactly the kind of players TS wants. We shall see soon enough.
-
James Brady I think.
-
Pretty meh interview from a supporters perspective.
To give some cliffs:
. Backroom staff very important to a manager and he believes we've got a great backroom staff here
. Kevin MacDonald now knows how Sherwood wants to play and has sent him back to the academy to develop players in his style of play - Academy super important to a club like Villa - KMac completely wasted in first team
. Worst moment in management was the FA Cup final
. Best moment in management: There hasn't been one yet
. We have a shitload of scouts here at Villa now
. His coaching mate from Tottenham is a fantastic scout and works very closely with Sherwood - Know exactly what kind of players they want
. A good 10 minutes of bollocks about how Fergie and Dalglish were good managers. Something something Ryder Cup captain emotions are good.
. Long term goal is to stay in the Villa job as long as possible
Nothing mind blowing. Although its good to know that we have no shortage of scouts these days.

I thought the best bit was when he said he had charisma, and the most damning was when he said our academy has been 'sleeping'.
-
Kevin has to admit though he ain't no 1st team manager.
-
What do you think he meant by the academy sleeping? Resting on its laurels?
Micah Richards quoted today saying our mentality isn't the best - we don't believe in ourselves enough. Four years of constant defeats will do that to you! That's where a newly promoted side will sometimes have an advantage
-
He was basically intimating that the Academy which was traditionally very good had gone backwards since Kevin had left it hence his reappointment to it.
-
Looked like he's aged 10 years since he has been here....plenty of crows feet around his eyes!!!
Yes though i thought it was a decent interview but i think that may have been a couple of weeks old.
-
I like him and thought he came across very well
Emphasising the need for a strong team around him was exactly the opposite and biggest failing Lambert had so fair play to him
Did wish there were more questions about the club but I suppose it is purely an insight into the role of Manager - the clubs are immaterial
Really hope he does well for us and I just have the feeling he just might
UTV

To be fair, I think he might just be hitting the age when that happens!
I always remember watching the series 7+7 and noticing that up to 42, most of them held up pretty well, but by the time we re-visited at 49, age was definitely catching up with them. Somewhere between 45-50, I think most of us will find the same....and it is surprisingly sudden!
-
Good interview. At least he doesn't mumble.
-
He looks like he hasn't eaten in a couple of months and is on 40 a day. Either the Villa job is a killer or he just takes it really seriously and last season really took it out of him.
-
Just watched it and thought more could of been said about the club, but then again if it's about him
