Look for the GTC thread for the next Home Match in 'Match Threads and Player Ratings'. It usually appears about 10 days before the fixture.

Post your guess in the thread for that match, not in this one, please.
You can score:
10 for a correct guess before 7 days before KO - this is The Brucie Bonus!
9 For a correct guess within 7 days of KO
8 Within 10
7 Within 50
6 Within 100
5 Within 200
4 Within 400
3 Within 500
2 Within 1000
1 For entering and above 1000 out
First guess only counts.
Editing posts - will result in that guess being null and void, with just the 1 point awarded for entering, that week. The edit will be noted by the site at the bottom of the post, as we all know. First guess only counts. No guesses will be counted after Kick Off.
Teams which do not play for 4 consecutive GTCs will be moved directly to Division 4 at the level of their points so far.
Teams in Div 4 which do not play for 4 consecutive GTCs are consigned to the Outer Darkness but may start playing again from 0 if they revive before the end of the season.
Brucie Bonuses may be offered for alternative windows of opportunity from time to time!

This division is made up of:
4 Teams that were relegated from old Div 2.
Active teams from old Div 4 and the champion.
Active teams from old Div 3 (played GTC 1).
New Teams who have played GTC 1 - welcome!
Anybody who said, 'I'm in!' this time around but somehow missed GTC 1.
Active teams are those playing this season. They appeared in the 'Are You In?' thread before GTC 1 and/or played.
10 teams which were inactive for months (!) last season in old Division 3 have been moved into D4. Otherwise, Division 3 would be absolutely massive. It's still too big at this point. But, there is a plan!
Any team from Divisions 1, 2 or 3 which does not play for 4 consecutive games will be moved into Div 4, at the level of their points so far.
The way out of Div 4 is to play, as top scorers throughout all 4 divisions will be promoted during the season as spaces appear in the divisions above!
I will be working on reducing Div 3 to 20 teams so this might not affect Div 4 at once, but it will be happening throughout the season, so no active team should be languishing for long.
Any new teams from now will join Division 4 and have as much chance as anybody else to move on up!
And remember...it's never too late to join GTC!

This season, top scoring teams will be promoted just as soon as spaces appear in Div 3, once that's down to 20 places. There's opportunity for a meteoric rise, real phoenix from the ashes stuff. Everybody's on 0, with everything to play for!
However,
Teams which do not play GTC for 4 consecutive games will suddenly disappear from here, probably to the back row of the Upper Trinitycar park).

Possibly the answer to how a 'sold out' game ended up 460 - odd short on the official attendance which puzzled a lot of us after the ManU game.

They are included in your current points total, CJ, but don't count to get you relegated if you've missed matches.
That's about as positive that an 'extra' can possibly be!
A quick glance at the latest divisions above will show that I have added in these extra points for those who guessed and the next score for everybody will be from GTC 2, against Sunderland tomorrow.

Not a lot of movement in this division, this time.
Again, sorry to Goldie7 and Vancouver, the first victims. Relegations of the bottom 2 happen every 6 games. There is precedent for this, it just didn't happen last season. Consequently, divisions got clogged up with teams who had dropped out several games before. It has to apply across the divisions, though, as there are promotions as well.
If there are more than 2 teams on the same points at the bottom when the next 6 week point comes up, I will just defer to the next game and it's resolved that way.

It forces everyone to guess an unrealistically high amount which, in my opinion, spoils some of the fun of guessing. Maybe extra bonus points if Villa win and people get within a thousand or two of the crowd? Sorry to be negative.

Thanks for the comments, CDBWFan, Legion. Since Villa haven't won yet it hasn't yielded any results, although I take your point about it already affecting guesses. TBH, I haven't noticed that it did for lots of players, but it might well have done, of course. No argument there!
I was trying to think of a way to spread a few bonuses around!
The regular Brucie has finally been won this week, but I thought it would be nice to have a little something for GTC players if we won. God knows, it's been a long time!
At first, I thought that it could be an extra 3 points for the win for everybody. That just keeps everybody where they would be but 3 points higher. Nice for totals but not really impacting the competition. Hence, identifying guessers over the odds, as I commented about when I launched it. i.e.: Who is going to go for the 4 points? Who is going to do what they would have done..?
I really like the idea of including guesses within 2,000 either way, which would mean +3 points being extended that far. That still preserves the integrity of guessing the crowd and yields a bonus to a large number of players, which is what I was after.
The idea is to run the Brucie Twist until the Villa get a League win and then reintroduce it for a match a few games down the line. It's not on for tonight (LeagueCupXtras), for instance, and it's not supposed to be a constant feature. The regular Brucie is that.
I would appreciate other comments and if I get the go-ahead from other players, I will amend the Brucie Twist accordingly.
We have not begun GTC 6 yet, so if you would like to comment on this, please do so. I am due to launch GTC 6 tomorrow night and it would be great to have some more opinions before I do. It might take a break until there's a clear opinion, as I appreciate that this is a very short window of opportunity to let me know what you think!

I have recently 'upgraded' my laptop to windows what ever it is.
This has not just lost every favourite and link I had, it has compromised the way that the whole damn thing works. I can't do the stuff i used to do. I am so f***ing pissed off it is not true because stuff I do for H&V and work now takes 5 times as long or just doesn't happen.
The new double glazing has been threatened more than once over the last fortnight. I have had the laptop in my hands, reeady to launch.
This is a vent and a half, I know.
If we hadn't had a point yesterday, god only knows what you would be reading.
And finally. It is absolutely not a lack of offers of help, that has been offered and forthcoming and thank you, very much. It is just MICROSOFT!!!! The utter, utter bastards.

thanks Lou for running this. It kept my interest alive at many games longer than it should have.
I faded terribly on the run in, having hit the elusive Brucie Bonus mid season.
