Yep, that sums it up well. Interesting point about the money we have received for Delph and Benteke. Presuming it is going to be made available for transfers and that a big chunk hasn't already been spent on our two new signings, it is the kind of money that could improve us markedly if spent correctly.
Different era, but I always remember how Ron Atkinson used the money we got for David Platt to build the basis of a side that would finish 2nd in the league and win the League Cup.

Spot on as usual.

Like the analogy about the captain jumping overboard after promising to steer the ship clear of the rocks!

Must have some Italian in his ancestry. They are famous for Captains who leave a stricken ship.

A really good article.its good to see some real strong words and condemnation of Delph, rather than being PC about it, it's what a lot of us would have wanted to say, except you missed the word 'ubercunt' :-)

Like the article. Any person in any walk of life should be truthful, honest and trustworthy. Those are the basics for civilised human behaviour, imo.
This man has shown beyond reasonable doubt that he has none of these qualities.

Yep Hodge and Downing, that is some company to be part of.

I'd include Paul Elliott in that list also

Good article Dave.

Great stuff, as ever Mr W!
Nicely balanced comments re: Benteke and Delph and how their departures reflect their ambition and characters.

I suppose all this ranks alongside "I must be barmy to think of leaving here, I would have been leaving the best job in football".
