If Benteke is to go, and the main rumours seem to be Man Utd or Liverpool. Which one would you prefer he went to?
???
-
Do I want to be kicked in the bollocks with a left foot or a right foot? Umm....
Man Utd to be honest as I could actually see the point in it. It's a significant step up for him, in a side, which if they sort their defence out, should challenge for the title. Liverpool are a turd masquerading as a big club, trading on past glories. He can get regular game time at Utd as they have a gap to fill now with RVP and Falcao fucked off. There's pressure, but he can produce the goods there and play CL football.
Liverpool will be chasing the fart gusts of the top four and get nowhere near them. I just think its a shit move for him. They're a joke.
-
Man United. At least it would make sense.
-
Yep, being asked if you'd like ti be hung or face the firing squad! I'll be honest, the thought of him going to Liverpool is sickening and I would prefer him to go anywhere else but there.
Edit - or Spurs.
-
Man Utd or Arsenal
-
In order of hard-to-stomach
1. Spurs
2. Liverpool.
3. Man United
4. Anywhere else in this country
I'd rather he went elsewhere in Europe, but if he does stay here, joining Spurs ... FFS, what a waste.
-
As said above, United. It would mean CL football which is where he want to be apparently. Couldn't begrude him that but I'll be pissed if he joins liverpool and I'm one of very few (if any) who doesn't mind them on here.
-
Liverpool. At least we might get a win against him before he retires.

Ironically them replacing Gerrard with someone who can run more than 5 yards in one go and last more than 25 minutes (Milner) will do their midfield no end of good.
Benteke up top with the other signings (if they fit it) could see them giving Man City a good run for 4th. I think City are the weakest of last season's top 4 and the money on Sterling could prove a serious waste.
So if only to stop Liverpool getting anywhere close if he's got to go somewhere in this league, then that lot from Trafford are the least odious of the plausible options.
(I wonder whether that interview he gave when he signed about his dream being to play for Arsenal could have any bearing - crosses fingers that it would give us another season.)
Personally if he wants CL football I think he was made for Klopp's Dortmund side. Might be worth him waiting a year to see where he pitches up (crosses fingers again.)
-
Man. United.
I don't hate them as much as I used to now they've stopped winning stuff, the Moyes season and parts of last year were highly amusing.
It's funny when Yorke went in 1998, I hated that move as at the time we weren't that far off United. Even if they were winning the league we were usually in the top 6, nowadays it's a whole different universe.
That's the hunch aswell that if we did get a takeover down the line we could start challenging Liverpool again as we did for a few season under MON. They'd certainly be easier to catch than Man. United unless they appoint someone like Giggs as manager.
Plus I fancy Hernandez as part of the deal, don't want any of Liverpool's forwards.
-
Abroad. Nowhere else; as far as I'm concerned. I would hate to see him play against us unless it's in European competition.
-
Don't really see that it makes a difference either way if he's not playing for us.
-
Man Utd or Arsenal
This.
They're both a significant step up.
Joining 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' - a team that seems to have little more than we have on paper, except for shedloads of £££ which they spend very badly, and no CL - makes no sense at all.
-
If this goes through in the next week or two I wonder if we'll put in a gentleman's clause to stop him playing in the Villa Park game.
That would be too soon I think.
-
Man Utd and by quite a distance.
Liverpool fans are deluded enough to believe that we'll end up selling Tekkers to them for about £23m because he'll put in a transfer request and demand to go to their cesspool of a club. They're in a world of their own aren't they.

and not legal
-
None of the above.
-
Of the two choices Manure because the reaction from the scousers would be hilarious
Otherwise abroad and the very best to the big man - see you in the 2020 Champions League Final mate...
-
Real Madrid. If Rafa wants him.
-
Lets not tempt fate.
Fuck them both
-
Lets not tempt fate.
Fuck them both
I feel a strange affinity for this post.
-
FFS it's like asking me if I would prefer to be throttled or gagged to death!
-
Nightmare scenario to be honest, I did say earlier I never want to see any player from us in a manure shirt but the thought of him at Liverpool isn't a nice one
-
9 months at Liverpool followed by a transfer to West ham. After that a quick appearance on i'm a celebrity get me out of here before disappearing off the radar completely.
-
United. One of the biggest clubs in World football which makes it more bearable to lose a player to. Don't get me wrong I'd rather he stayed but it's unlikely. Most of all I just hope Sherwood gets all of the dough (minus the sell on chunk that Ghenk get) to invest in new players.
-
Manure because I really hate redscouse

I'm sure teams have done it recently, Tim Howard was one I believe?
-
I'd rather Benteke go to Utd than the Scousers. It's not like when Yorke went there years ago, we were closer to Utd then. Light years away from the Mancs now.
-
Man Utd for 30 million and we'll take Victor Valdes (for 2.5 mill!).
-
Sounds like Valdes isn't the kind of player that TS would tolerate if he's not prepared to play in the reserves...no doubt his wages would be ridiculous anyway and theres also question marks over his age, fitness and attitude. Thanks but no thanks.
-
Man United, simply so all Liverpool fans can see what they missed out on when he bangs 30 goals for manyoo, then they'll be thinking Manure werent even interested when we were arsing around with the fee and could have got him nice and early.
-
Any Villa player who goes to Manure has no respect from me. Period. But I guess that's my problem...
-
FFS it's like asking me if I would prefer to be throttled or gagged to death!
Could happen. We've got to die.
-
Man U - for £30M - and Carrick to B6 please.
-
None of the above.
This
-
It reminds me too much of Dwight Yorke. How we loved that player. Now, other than when he is a token pundit for TV Villa games he has airbrushed his time with us as though he never wore our shirt.
-
Abroad - or ManUre
-
Any Villa player who goes to Manure has no respect from me. Period. But I guess that's my problem...
I have the same problem. I hate the thought. I have no respect for Manure, full stop.

I'm the same.
Then again I have to realize that Man u is a step up which makes me more pissed off because at one time we were up there with them but then let it all slip. I would like to get back to really hating them 'cos then we'll be going in the right direction. As for Benteke, Man U makes more sense. I'd gladly take the 32.5 million and then wish he turns into a massive pile of shit.
-
Man U - for £30 - and Carrick to B6 please.
Maybe 10 years ago
-
If Benteke does leave this summer then I would rather he goes to a club in the Champions League. I grateful of the time he served in the famous claret and blue and wish him all the best in the future. When Tekkers decides to depart us, if its now or in future transfer windows, there isn't a player out there that wee are capable of signing that's of the quality of out Tekkers. With out his goals in each of the last 3 seasons, then we would surely be playing championship football. Thank you Christian (1 more season please)
-
Man Utd makes far more sense in football terms for Tekkers and (if there's a player swap involved) for Villa.
However, press reports do seem to suggest that he's (and/or his agent)got his heart set on 'The Mighty Reds YNWA'.
Was/is Tekkers a 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' fan or are they offering far more in wages than Man Utd ?
-
He supports Arsenal.
-
Man U are more likely to meet the asking price than Liverpool who are hell bent on imitating a candidate from The Apprentice in a Tottenham Court Road electronics shop.
-
united is a step up, it'll make or break him.
-
I'd be disappointed if he went to a club at the level of Liverpool or Spurs. They are are not able to offer him CL and I'd argue they are only around the level at which we should have been had we not been run so incredibly badly these last few years. Liverpool are kind of trading on past glories and are therefore still able to attract some bigger names, but, Suarez season aside, they have not really looked all that the last few seasons. If I were in his shoes I'm not sure I'd gamble on Rogers being able to take them to the next level again.
-
Any self respecting supporter wishing his best players away to other clubs should hang his head in shame.
-
Man U - for £30 - and Carrick to B6 please.
£30 isn't going to get you much these days.
-
I went Liverpool because Utd have only struggled for two seasons and that is not nearly enough ;) Besides Rodgers is a promising British manager I would like to see things work out for him at Liverpool, but I think he will go to Utd.
-
That is like asking which I would prefer to shag my missus, a bluenose or a stripeyfilth.
If it was the ex wife that would be a tough call in fairness.
-
I guess Liverpool so we can rub his nose in it when we finish higher than them next season.
-
Man Utd - WITHOUT QUESTION! At least going to Man Utd would be an 'upgrade' for his career.
Growing up as a kid in the 80's, my school playground was littered with the Scouse filth. Hated em ever since. A club that totally lacks any class from the boardroom, to the players, to the fans.....and then there is their delusional view that they are title contenders somehow?!
Horrible, horrible football club. Their constant hounding of Villa a few years ago, trying to snatch Barry off us; Standing by a racist with overactive knashers; Holding out for £49m for one of the most overrated youngsters ever seen, then in their next breath, start whinging that Benteke is massively overpriced at £32m?! WHAT?!
The sooner they implode, the better imho. It hurts enough thinking of Milner wearing that shitty red shirt next season, PLEASE NOT Benteke too!
-
Benteke's chances of playing in the "Champions" League with Frankie Goes To Hollywood are somewhere between slim and non-existent. Barring divine intervention, Chelsea and the two Manchester clubs are nailed on for three places. Which leaves them against Arsenal who are always there. And as we saw so painfully in Cup final, Arsenal are hitting their straps. Benteke will improve them but his career will likely turn a bit Savo rather than Yorke. Still, we get 30 million to add to the 20 million from Downing which lightens the mood somewhat. And he's not going to Spurs which is something.
-
Man United are the bigger club, likely to pay more, play Champions League football and if they sign a centre half of repute, run the title very close.
Liverpool will have had a good season of they finish 5th.
-
Any self respecting supporter wishing his best players away to other clubs should hang his head in shame.
Does anybody wish him away?
-
As stated a horrible poll. I'd rather he went to Walsall.
