I can't see anywhere that they have been updated with TV details mind.

I've checked the PL website and there's no schedules up yet so looks like the 24/6 was a load of bullshit.

This week for an announcement from my rudimentary investigations.
-
Easier option...move to the US where every game is live on tv 8)
Sorry, couldn't resist...although we do have to suffer Robbies -Earle and -Mustoe as pundits !

This does come in handy at times. If there's a controversial / close decision at Villa Park I message a mate in New York to see if the ref got the call right.

What's the hurry; it's not like anyone's family are waiting on having their summer vacation booked up only after the Bournemouth fixtures been confirmed. Oh; wait..... 😉

Sky have released their list.

No-one here seems to take "holiday" any more, it's all "annual leave."

Think they've only released the Football League Fixtures.

That's another minor obsession of mine. When did holidays become annual leave?
-
That's all I could find. No need to rush. It isn't like people need to book holidays at this time of year or anything.

I wonder whether it might be down to the fact that having the audacity to take your holiday is frowned on in certain workplaces. "Taking annual leave" sounds less like you are going to be enjoying yourself than "off on holiday."
-
Could be, in an "Obviously I don't want to have time off but the company forces me to"-type scenario.
-
Or when HR departments, following the lead of their company's mission statement started giving annual leave allowances instead of holiday entitlement.
With apologies to Lizz 😉
-
We advise people to note it as annual leave in your calendar because noting 2 weeks holiday in Lanzarote might alert ne'erdowells that it is a good time to rob your house.

Well, here's one that's not on TV then........
Tickets for our opening game of the 2015/16 season go on sale next Wednesday.
We have Bournemouth on Saturday August 8 at the Goldsands Stadium, with a 3pm kick-off.

I would wager that it will be - and ticket buyers should expect so (although I also expect Sky will have announced by next Wed).

Was at a social gathering the other day (relaxed my usual non attendance as I actually like these people) when I was asked where to put some garbage. I got them to repeat it twice as I wasn't sure what they meant then remembered they were American.

Since the word Holiday is derived from "Holy Day", I'm all in favo(u)r of the use of the word vacation instead

Our game is in the "10 PL games to watch" on the sky sports website, and the only one on the first weekend. It's bound to be moved. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11096/9887718/premier-league-fixtures-201516-ten-big-games-to-watch

True, but the ticket information page on Pravda could at least have a disclaimer saying that the game is still subject to being moved for TV
Instead it says........"We have Bournemouth on Saturday August 8 at the Goldsands Stadium, with a 3pm kick-off".
This could easily be interpreted to mean that Villa are playing Bournemouth on Sat 8 August at 3pm, whereas the reality is that we don't yet know the date and time of the match.

Annual Leave in Cambodia doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Last year the live fixtures were announced on Monday 14 July. So as the Prem starts a week earlier this season, I'm going for this Monday, when the TV fixtures will released. Don't forget you heard it here first.

Manchester United will kick off the Premier League for the second successive season after BT Sport secured the rights to their opening game against Tottenham Hotspur.
Telegraph Sport has learnt that Sky Sports has again opted against showing United’s first match of the campaign when selecting its live fixtures over the first four months of 2015-16 and is expected instead to broadcast the Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool’s games over the course of the weekend.
United v Spurs will kick off at 12.45pm on Saturday August 8, with the other members of the so-called big five playing across Saturday tea-time, Sunday lunchtime, Sunday tea-time and Monday evening.

EDL March apparently
-
Why don't they just move the march to another day? Why inconvenience 40,000 to benefit a hundred wankers?
-
Two Villa games have been moved in August and September.
Our opening home match with Man Utd will now take place on Friday August 14, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
The game will be screened on Sky Sports.
The Red Devils match has moved due to other events in the city on Saturday August 15.
Our away game against Leicester will now be played on Sunday September 13 at 4pm.
It was originally due to be played on Saturday September 12.
This encounter will also be screened on Sky Sports.

Sky had initially put forward the proposal of a 5.30pm Saturday ko for the United game, which the police said would have been fine under normal circumstances. Thanks to those lovely, fascist twats at the EDL it has to be moved to Friday. Televising it on Sunday was a non-starter as precious United might have a European game on the Tuesday night.

Looking on the bright side, at least I'll be able to go and see Peter Perrett on the Saturday evening......ironically in Manchester.
-
Great, I hate this fixture more than any other but especially don't like playing them under floodlights as brings back bad memories of that awful cup game yeas back when we lost 3-2 despite being 2 up seemingly going into injury time...
Imagine town will be quiet lively the Friday afternoon aswell with travel chaos thrown in aswell.

This is partly what I was alluding to.
I have despised these beings since the late 1960s when I would regularly catch a bus/coach from Burntwood to every home game run by a Cannock company who happened to be Villa fans. It was dark times and if eleven people boarded the coach for a game that was as good as it got. And then when we had a home fixture against them we were lucky to get a seat thanks to all of the Man Utd fans suddenly appearing. I can't explain the hatred I have for these people. I am obviously outdated in this world of global premier league coverage but I don't give a toss. To see them celebrating perennially gets right up my crack.

We should just play the Saturday evening. If the police are unable to protect Nazis and watch a football match at the same time then, frankly, I'll live with a load of Nazis getting the shit kicked out of them.
-
They should just kettle the EDL in Dudley for the afternoon.
-
I quite like the thought of Friday night football. Would be better with standing and beers in the stands as in Germany though (but obviously you couldn't actually trust English people to do that).
-
Yeah Friday night football is great, I mean why wait til 5pm on a Saturday to have your weekend ruined.
As for the EDL, they can fuck off , they recently marched on solihull, was probably 50 of them, mostly in an array of England tops and stone island.
-
I don't belive the reasons they are giving us.
Think they are actually trying to gauge the reaction of everybody to the Friday night games coming with this 'unique set of circumstances' shite.
The planned march won't have a bearing because it's not near VP.
What they want to see is how many of us get pissed enough to make it like 'armageddon' ala West Brom FA Cup.
-
Surprised the Bournemouth game isn't on TV. Also relieved.
-
From a neutral point of view, I can't believe Bournemouth v Villa wouldn't be a more interesting offering than Chelsea v Swansea or Arsenal v West Ham. Both would be okay if reversed, but look more than likely to be tediously comfortable home wins.
-
It seems the tv schedulers have steered clear of villa games, I have no issues with this.
-

It would be the people and businesses of Walsall that would suffer without the police there who would then have to put up with every news outlet in the country blaming them for the damage.
It is a pain in the arse having it moved but this time the blame lies with neither Sky nor WMP. It is the bigots from the EDL who are responsible.
-

From the investigations I have made I have found out the following:
1) The Police requested of the Premier League that the game was not 5.30 on Saturday
2) Sky had intended showing at this time
3) It was the Premier League who decided the game be played on the Friday nite
4) Viagogo will not be the ticket seller this season

Manu have a CL game the following week which ruled out the Sunday, apparently.
-
Did Chelsea not have a game European wise last season so the fixture was moved to the Wednesday ........
Think just stinks of the Premier League testing the water for Friday nite football ........
I would have preferred a Tuesday or Wednesday nite to the Friday !

RE: The CL thing, I reckon it's to do with the PL being worried that if Utd go out in the qualifying rounds and the other 3 flop early as they're so used to doing, it opens up the door for the Italian teams to come in and poach that 4th CL spot from the 'vastly superior Premier League', so the Friday thing is to give the almighty United an extra 2 days rest come Tuesday night.
Basically, coefficients.

The fixture could not be played on the Sunday as United's CL game could be on a Tuesday. If it was on a Wednesday, there would be no problem playing on the Sunday. The problem is that Sky want to broadcast the match and they already have Sunday matches fixed. add those points to the fact that Sky want to fix their schedule now, the match has to be played Friday.
Regardless of the above, can't see why WM Police cannot handle both on the same day. Doesn't the club pay for policing at matches anyway, meaning that they could bring others in from the south of the region or are the police so low staffed these days. If so, God help us if there is ever a major incident in the area in the future.

My guess is that the police crowd control 'experts' would have to be at both events, coupled to the fact that the EDL would be travelling on the train via Aston/Witton.

Nobody likes them - in fact I think it's compulsory - but I do wonder why it is that they alone seem to set off some sort of Shock!!! Horror!!! reaction in a lot of our supporters.
Our form really. What's worse is we've had so many defeats clutched from the jaws of victory, those 2 nil up games that quickly turn to 3-2 in about 10 minutes, all in the mind.
At least we beat Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal on occasions. 1 win in 20 odd seasons and counting.

Probably sums me up that bullet point 4 is the one I'm most concerned about, how so? Is this the end for cheap tickets in the Trinity upper or is there another site that will sell them?

It's more than that. Every time the game against them gets shifted there's panic about their fans getting drunk and laying waste to Greater Birmingham. It never happens for anyone else.
-
There is something about their fans though. Strolling round as if they own the place. Always celebrating goals on our pitch.
You know what a gent Frank is and he knows someone from every club who I can get on with pretty much. But when these turn up even then we get his mate who is so fucking patronising that I want to kick him in the bollocks within ten minutes of his arrival. Every time, without fail.
They are like some sort of cuntish clique that have to display at least two from a list of five things certain to boil our piss.
Trevor Fisher however displays six of those five.
-
How much do you think that this game being played on a Friday night will effect the attendance? In a way its better a friday than Saturday as you won't have the factor of a lot of supporters having to work the next day. It is a bit of a shame for someone like me who would have to travel to the game but can't reasonably get there and get back the same night.
I don't really care the reasons behind it being moved because I am used to this sort of thing by now, just think its a bit of a shame than a game such as this couldn't be played 3.00 on a Saturday or at least as the later kick off on the Sunday.
-
How much do you think that this game being played on a Friday night will effect the attendance?
not much, given it's the holiday season anyway.
i imagine it'll kick off though. people will finish work early and get straight on the beers, and united's away fans aren't exactly sheepish.
-

Coefficients are being fucked by English teams fielding weakened teams in the Europa League rather than Champions League teams getting to the quart-finalks at best.

Don't see United selling out tbh and if it does it'll be the usual influx of Brummie Reds in home ends.
Remember it's August and everyone is on holiday....or at least that's the excuse wheeled out when we get 30k v Newcastle and Hull in that month......
-
Been lost in the million signings but Sky moved Spurs away to Monday 2nd November and predictably Man. City at home been moved to the Sunday, half 1 kick off.
Those were just the two Sky ones I saw, dunno if BT moved any of our other games up to December.
-
BT don't have many games in those two months. None of them are Villa

Yes, got a family wedding on the Sat before the Man £ity game, so it's worked out for me for once.
-
SSN made their live fixtures announcement proclaiming that all PL teams will have been featured 3 times by the end of November and the top 4 will have been featured 6 times each. Just checked the BT Sport fixtures and we aren't featured at all.
I've been discontent with paying over £50/month for Sky (tv, broadband and phone) for a while so decided to ring around the main providers this evening...Sky offered same package for £48, BT had the cheek to say that BT Sport would actually cost an extra £5 if only taking their broadband...and TalkTalk (who have been shite for me previously) have offered £38 for everything including all Sky Sports channels via broadband. Tempted to make the switch to TalkTalk but not sure I can deal with YouView or risking having to stream the sports channels with on potentially shite broadband.
-
Was considering getting BT but don't think I'll bother. They boasted about showing every Champions League game but haven't shown one yet. I'm so starved of football I'd have quite happily watched the Gibraltarian Champions' qualifiying games. They couldn't even be arsed to show Celtic which, it's fair to assume, would've attracted a reasonable audience.

I was hoping that BT would show some obscure prelim games (ie like the Gibraltar example)
That non-high def Premier Sports channel has been showing some games.
-
Yeah the BT guy on the phone was telling me how they now have exclusivity over Champions League...but thats something I can quite easily live without if you have to change supplier and pay for it. Turns out he was a Sunderland fan so we chatted about our prospects for 10 minutes then politely declined their expensive BT broadband with BT Sport package (£29.49/mth but would also need to keep Sky TV to watch BT Sport as my internet wouldn't be fast enough to stream BT Sport via BT broadband...total would still be over £50/mth to watch any live Villa games).
-
Looks like BT are getting La Liga as well.

First home game of the season, Man United, loads of excitement and optimism again. Full house I reckon.

I wish BT would fuck off. Having to pay for one lot of TV rights is bad enough without having to pay for two.

Looking at the seat finder, I doubt they'll much left after the end of next week.

I really hate that it's not enough for you to have one subscription with them. If you want to watch anything on different TV's, you have to have more than one subscription. Now they've got all the fucking Champions League games. They really are a greedy bunch of tosspots.

Oh after all the signings and more to come, yep it will sell out. Should be a good attendance for Sunderland aswell which is usually one of our lowest gates of the season.
Have the club announced anything regarding ticket exchange yet?

Aston Villa’s December games against Arsenal and Newcastle have been re-arranged to accommodate television needs.
The clash against the Gunners at Villa Park will now take place on Sunday December 13 at 1.30pm rather than 3pm on Saturday December 12.
Villa’s away game at Newcastle on Saturday December 19 will now kick off at 5.30pm rather than 3pm.
Both games will be screened live on Sky Sports.
-

They aren't needs, they're demands. EDIT Just checked the train times and the last one leaves half an hour after the final whistle (assuming no injury time) so with the station a 15 minute walk from the ground coupled with the 15 minute descent from the away end, it should be doable. Nice one.

You could combine it with a Christmas shopping trip to the Metro Centre. Although to be honest, that place (especially around Christmas time) is just about my idea of what Hell is like.
-
It's odd that Newcastle away nearly always seems to get moved.
But, Newcastle aren't going to be exempt from playing televised games. At least there is sufficient notice so hopefully nobody will have already wasted money on train tickets.

I was going to that one with my son but now I'm knacked as trains back to Preston appaling after 7.30. Not happy.

I was thinking when up there we last played at 3pm as that game always seems to be on TV...but actually last season we played at the regular time.
Sky must remember that 4-3 classic from the mid 90s when Yorke scored a hat trick and think there will be a repeat eventually. Both teams are lightyears away from that standard.

Last season was the first time we've played there in a Saturday 3pm for years.

Toon away was the first Setanta game, also at 5:30 on a Sat.
I made a last minute decision to go and drove up and back in the same day (via Villa to pick up my ticket)

You are one mad mofo, UKR. Madder than Laibach on chemicals.
-
i reckon sky have chosen newcastle v villa because you can get a nice "doom and gloom" montage in the build-up.
some archive footage from the successful 90s, interspersed with clips of fans with their head in their hands, ashley and lerner, dark clouds circling over st james's and villa park, all set to a mogwai soundtrack.

Sat 16th Jan 2016
Leicester home game moved to 5.30 ko for Sky. No other league games on TV in Jan.

I guess it also ticks boxes. Sky need to put each team on a certain amount of times and something usually happens in this fixture. Add, as you say, the morbid fascination this season and its an obvious pick.

That game is a given considering both teams will be there or there abouts come the end, and it would be a big drop if either of us do go.
