Title: Walsall v Aston Villa Pre-season Friendly
Post by: Legion on June 28, 2015, 10:05:15 AM
Any thoughts on getting some sort of tribute arranged at the Walsall v Villa pre-season friendly, given the recent tragic events?

Think Walsall will probably want to do something for their first league game v Oldham but they have opened an area outside their reception to lay flowers/scarves so Villa fans are welcome to pop down and it might still be there for the Friendly.

Just thinking about losing 3 men from the same family in the Tunisian debacle. Unbelievably horrific.

Also devastating for the families of other victims there.

Sorry, really can't post something like, 'well done Walsall' because the cause is absolutely dreadful. Maybe, appreciate the recognition from the club.

Their poor mothers, fathers....

My son has asked me to take his Wembley scarf down today as it is something he values

Went down at 11 this morning and there are flowers and  probably 50-odd scarves - mostly Saddlers but a Bristol City and Hammers represented. As I put the lads down another Villa fan came and put one down - he was a friend of the young man who worked for Sandwell Council and was very cut up so spent a bit of time chatting. There was a group of young women there obviously distressed and a ruck of media vans just setting up their kit so I pushed off sharpish.

I questionned going down initially as I didn't want to be ghoulish or intrude into the grief of others but am actually glad to have just shown solidarity now
