Title: Did we have 2 shots or no shots?
Post by: montague on June 01, 2015, 07:16:49 PM
I know we had no shots on target and no corners - must be an FA cup final record if I could be bothered to check - but I have seen different stats that either say we had 2 shots or no shots at all.

If we had 2 can anyone recall them?

I remember a shot by Grealish in the second half but it hit a defender so might not count.

Recall a couple of chipped passes into the box that some idiot might think was a shot. If we had a proper shot then I didn't see it.

N'Zogbia in first half and Grealish in second both blocked. Remember Westwood chipping one into the keeper's arms but don't think they've counted that.

Hutton had a cross come shot that the keeper comfortably gathered at his near post.

A definitive answer would require re-watching the game and that ain't ever gonna happen

I wouldn't lose too much sleep about how many shots we had, folks. It's not exactly the most important number from the game!

I had 16 shots at half-time so I can't remember anything about the second half.

It has some importance when the piss is being taken from all sides at us 'not even having a shot', when we actually did......the problem is that 'we had 2 actually' is not a great comeback, and of course, there is plenty of other ammunition anyway.

I could just have done without people being given more!

A nose mate did put a picture of a shot glass on my Facebook, in case I was still waiting for one, but thanks to Edvard I was able to tell him he was more than several sambucas too late!

Ha. I was just about to ask how Edvard managed to get to France and back in 15 minutes.

I had 16 shots at half-time so I can't remember anything about the second half.

As the days wear on since the final, numbness is being replaced by anger about the total pathetic no show. Something is seriously wrong with the club.

Very true. I feel we are in a real mess. Squad is so bad and underinvestment has really damaged the team. Going to take something special to get out of this mess especially of we lose players as expected.

Why Did Sherwood play 4- 3 2-1?
Why did he play the full team against Burnley
Why did he leave Nzogbia on until it was too late.

I think you have your answers as to why it still angers.

Useless.

It's that line up against Burnley I just can't get my head around.

We could have sent several players off for some warm weather training, recharged some batteries etc.

Could have played Gil, Cole, Weimann, Sinclair and still been competitive in a meaningless game.

But hey, he ultimately kept us up and I'm very grateful for that!

well sort of the first minute kind of a shot, keeper dived down to his left and caught it, and in the second half westwood hit a kind of back pass to their keeper so kind of two shots but not............

I think I recall a cross come shot that squirted towards the keepers near post in the first half.

A pathetic return for 90 minutes of football regardless of who you're playing.

I think this performance will dog us now for quite a while.

I remember the Grealish shot. It hit a defender. I put on the match thread something like, Does that count as that a shot on target?
