Back when we were cheerful and looking forward to the game
I didn't set the preview pic, it automatically defaulted to the star double act.
-
Ah I loved this, probably the highlight of the three hours down the pub watching that although the Citizen Khan interview with Given was amusing.
So there's Mr Woodhall, Amfy (as I got that from her Husband wearing the PNE shirt) was Legion on there aswell? Who else.
If it's on youtube anywhere I'd happily watch the hour beforehand and then click off as soon as the match starts as I thought for once the BBC build up was really good for both teams.
-
Legion is on with Freddy, the preview pic of the video. CheltenhamLion is the one who says at the end "Do you want to bet against us?"
-
Fantastic! Didn't realise quite so many of them were from on here.

Ah that's what Legion looks like, I'll say hello next season if he's selling H&V for one of the games it comes out for now I know what he looks like.
Yes I was waiting for someone to say that. Again raised a cheer in the pub in Mere Green I was watching it in.
-
Legion looks surprisingly dapper. I'm assuming the tie has since caught fire.
-
Freddy's a star, even if he did cough/sneeze ice cream wafer bits all over my feet yesterday 😀
-
Even though the outcome wasn't what anyone wanted it is great to see the enthusiasm before the game and the hope that a little success brings. The good games we saw at the end of the season still happened. We didn't imagine the scenes vs West Brom and Liverpool. There's lots to fix but we did see signs of what we can be again.

Which pub?

The full pre match programme is on iPlayer. I just captured the bit with the H&Vers on

Who's the bloke in the Peaky Blinders hat?

Plough and Harrow, Roughley.
Was going to watch it in the Boot but too busy.
-
A rather famous drummer with personal connections to Villa. I did the arsey interview but at least got "do you want to bet against us" on the telly. I wish I bloody had now!

My local, live just round the corner, quite often take the kids down there on a sunny weekend, few beers for me and let them have a play in the garden.
How busy was it?
-
My wife's step-mum happened to wander through while it was on and described Freddy as 'adorable'.

Pretty busy when I got there which surprised me as it was half 4 so still a good hour before kick off but still managed to get a seat and decent enough view.
Yes it's a pleasant enough pub, with it's isolated location it's the sort you just stumble across if you don't live that way. I just noticed it driving back one day with Mere Green being congested so took the shortcut.
-
It massively needs a refurb but it's a great pub for the kids. I didn't watch it there as I was told it was ridiculously busy for the semi.
-
I'm the grey haired one in the '81 away shirt. The George Clooney lookalike.
-
That was great.
Freddy wins.
-
DW looking very natty in his leather jacket there. Lovely video, though it all seems rather hollow now, which is not the participants' fault.

Oh yes. I thought it was a coffee advert.
-
My wife's step-mum happened to wander through while it was on and described Freddy as 'adorable'.
He is, most of the time. He was a little sod yesterday.
-
Who is the guy talking about the Holy Grail? He was on the tube at the same time as me.
-
Grant Adams.
-
My old Financial Director is the one with the glasses and polo shirt.
Bob, if you're on here, send me a PM. It's Dan from Hewden.
I've watched that for the first time, and I've welled up.
-
Who was the geezer in the flat cap?
One of us?
-
A drummer for some band.
-

A very good friend of mine. Dean Beresford. Drummer with Richard Hawley's band. His Grandad played for Villa back in the 1930's.

Lookin good, MFB. ;)

Is the lady with the baggies fan for a husband one of us?
-
I said something along the lines of....I don't go to football to hang around in 15th being part of the supporting cast for Chelsea & Man City, I go to football for nights like the Albion quarter final, days like our semi final win against Liverpool, and hopefully days like May 30th.
It's not a stitch up as such, I just think that they chose a particular line to go with the Albion clip, but out of that statement, they ended up making me look like I said I only go to football to see us beat Albion - which is a bit annoying!
Overall I love it though, and I especially love Legion & Freddy and the £10 flag.
-

I'm sure I can arrange for my firm to do her a discount on a divorce if she is!
-

That's a PNE top!
-
The wife of the Preston fan (Mike) is Amfy. Another Villa fan, whose identity has yet to be established, mentions being married to an Albion supporter.
-
Ah right, I get it now.
-
Sorry don't know the ladies name but do know she sits in the Upper Witton lane and goes to most away games on coach 2

Anne Edwards?
-
I see the lady in question at most away games. She normally seems to be with a couple of other women of a similar age
-
Dave/Leeg/Amfy et al, where did they do the recording for this? Did the BBC come to you or did you go to a studio?
-
Corner Flag restaurant at VP.
-
Somebody else has just confirmed they think its Anne Edwards
-
Shame it didn't happen, but that's still a great keepsake.
Another member of the Freddy Fan Club.

I stood next to her once at the Etihad League Cup 4-2 a couple of years ago and she rightly derided my moaning about 23 years of missed opportunities with her 50 odd years of loyal support. Still makes me chuckle now.

Isn't the bloke in the polo shirt erstwhile poster "BoredNow"'s dad? I'm sure I recognise him from the Bells are Ringing video (filmed on steps of Holte End, featuring Percy).
