Although people are saying we were "hanging on" at the end I always felt comfortable in the second half. Can't remember the Hammers making any clear cut chances and the nearest they came to scoring was the long range effort that went just over.

Another good read Dave.

or their offside goal that was marginal?
Ever corner was also nervy. I agree, not many clear cut chances, but it felt a bit like hanging on sitting in the Trinity!

Their goal was offside. Just. It wasn't marginal, like if the players were level. it was a close call but it was definitely offside whichever way you look at it, the defence moved out perfectly and he was off. If I was allardyce and thank fuck I'm not, I'd more be spewing at the Collins missed header. It's funny, when I saw it loop over I thought 'oh fuck,no' but when I saw it was Collins on the end, I just kind of expected he'd somehow miss. Great defensive display from him though, you can't take that away from him.

Marginal? He was a mile off.

In Perry Barr?

I thought he was well offside.

he was. It wasn't even marginal. Marginal is when the replay shows that the forwards torso is barely behind the last defender, or the hair on his head is just ahead of the play. Valencia was a solid yard behind the last man.

Agreed. Benteke was more onside when he hit the post than their player for their 'goal' and Benteke was clearly offside too.

Feels great to be discussing the finer points of the offside rule after back to back home wins eh?

But big same says he was on side from his brill view from the bench

Actually he slammed the linesman for not possibly have being in the right position to call the clear offside and therefore it was the wrong decision. like when Jimmy greaves said that the ball through to Saunders when he ran from his own half against The Shit was too fast so the linesman couldn't have possible been right to not give offside. Or, the hull chairman who said that the ref shouldn't have changed his penalty decision and should have sent off Ashley young because he must have looked at a laptop or something hence getting the correct decision.
barmy.

Valencia was a yard offside. They drew that imaginary line on the screen during the Goals on Sunday show on Sky. End of.....
