Fat Sam with probably park the bus and hope for a draw. Tough game but reading KUMB their season seems to have fizzled out and the only remaining issue is whether Fat Sam will be offered a new contract.

1-0 Villa. Bacuna 82min

Fat Sam will park the bus and double up on Benteke, creating space for Jack, Delph and Charlie to score. 3-1 Villa, with the threat of relegation becoming a distant ship's smoke on the horizon. Please.

Villa 2-1

Benteke and Delph. Some big long ball bastard for them.

A good 3-1 win and we can sit back, light our pipes and begin to think of FA Cup glory.  Shame West Brom have got the inept geordie scum to play, we need them to win which puts the mockers on our chance of finishing higher than them in the league.

Only team set up decision for me is gabby or nzogbia (if gabby is fit)

I'd probably keep zoggy in

Do have a sense Sam may park the bus and we could always concede a stupid goal from a set piece.

But they're short of some of their best players and I reckon we'll have too much for them still.

Sakho, Carroll and Reid out for them is good. Valencia is the threat imo.

I'm a bit cautious of this one as we don't often do back-to-back home wins, think it may end up a draw, maybe even 0-0 if Big Sam has his way coupled with the Beast having an off day which he's probably due.

They only scored once v a Burnley team playing with 10 men for an hour and didn't score at all v QPR so I'd be disappointed if we ship 2 again.

Main threat will be from set plays as Big Sam will target Given no question particularly that cnut Nolan who always seems to score v us every season.

They also have a physical midfield in Song, Kouyate and Noble which is the type we tend to struggle against. Think Grealish's ankles will get something attention in this one!

On the plus side Benteke in this form gives any defence in the world a tough game and West Ham have been playing an 18 year old alongside Collins in the last few games, Reece Burke.

Could be 1-1 but I'll go for 2-1 win and with Sunderland losing to Everton, all but safe.

I always thought that about Nolan so I decided to be a sad git and see just how often he does score against us. He's scored in 3 of his last 14 games against us going back to 2005, two of them were 2 goal games though. I got bored so he may smacked a load in before that! Funny how most of us would have Nolan as scoring against us on a regular basis when in reality, he doesn't.

Given should not be in the side against a Sam team. Should be Guzan. And Senderos if fully fit alongside Vlaar for the inevitable high ball.

West Ham are in awful form and could only just scrap a win against Burnley.  We are much stronger at home since Sherwood took over and have managed to string two very good performances together so should be very confident. I think the manager will be drilling it into them the importance of making sure of safety as so as possible and to eliminate any lingering doubts of the going down dragging on.  2-0 Villa.  Will also go Grealish and Benteke. :)

Everything points to a Villa win.

Playing well, scoring goals with real attacking intent and a Manager that quickly proving his doubters wrong with his astute tactical decisions and motivation of underperforming players.

All against a team that looks to have mentally clocked off against an unimaginative Manager whose teams are predictable in their approach.

We won't win. 2-2.

Quote
Tim Sherwood has confirmed that Gabby Agbonlahor is available for selection this weekend against West Ham.

Agbonlahor missed the matches against Liverpool and Everton due to a hamstring injury picked up on the eve of the FA Cup semi-final.

But Agbonlahor, who enjoyed light training last week in the run-up to the Toffees match, is now working full-time with the first team as they gear up for the Hammers clash.

Sherwood revealed Agbonlahor would see action on Saturday but refused to say whether the long-serving striker would be in his starting XI.

He said: "Gabby is back in training. He will be available for selection. That's a plus for us.

"There are no other worries. We are as healthy as we have been.

"Gabby will get some game-time. Whether it is from the start remains to be seen. But he will get game-time on Saturday.

"His return puts us in good stead for the remaining matches.

"The team is not picked yet. Everyone still has an opportunity.

"It's not only picked on what they have done in previous game, it's also picked on what they have done during the week. They are always on trial.

"Everyone gets judged on a level playing field and the boys who have the shirt at the moment are in possession.

"It's up to the other boys to wrestle them off them.

"No-one is automatic. There is not a player here who is automatic first choice. They are know that - and respect that."

Sherwood also revealed that Ciaran Clark and Nathan Baker remain absent for the weekend clash.

But the boss is happy that the injury situation is not as clinical as it has been previously.

He added: "We are still struggling at centre-half with Ciaran and Nathan still missing but we seem to be getting bodies back.

"Obviously Alan got game-time in the last game. It's good to have him back. There's Scott too.

"These guys are all back in the squad now. We're looking healthier but as I said, in the centre of defence, there are only three.

"But we will just get on with it. We soldiered on with it before for a period of time and we now have three more games to go and then a cup final.

"But it's encouraging that we have more lads out there on the training field."

As a beneficiary, for my first few decades, of post-war Labour public services and one-nation Toryism (even Churchill believed that the NHS was sacrosanct!) and as someone whose Villa origins go back to my birth in an Upper Thomas Street, Aston slum, the thought of these toff 'fans' nauseates me.

West Ham on course to get into the Europa League, as long as they don't rack up too many yellow cards. If that's not an excuse to give the ball to Jack and tell him to run at them, then I don't know what is.

(probably based on the outside lavvy being next to the house whereas ours was a 10 yard sprint, through a gate and another 10 yard sprint away!)

I reckon Big Dave's Villa will have the edge over Squire Cameron's WHam!

He's scored more than that surely? He got 2 in the 6-0 Newcastle win didn't he, the winner on the opening day in 2012-13 and poached two at VP last season.

I think it is , in the sense if it goes to saints away it will probably go to burnley home which may then impact upon the Final preparations.

It would be really useful to get 3pts tomorrow, and I hope to McGrath that we do...and I think we will; but it's not a must win and there's no reason why we can't win away at Southampton (they are the definition of an average team at the moment). Obviously we'd all prefer we were safe sooner rather than later, and the results of other games will help determine when that will happen.

Rumour off KUMB:

"Heard tonight at the U21's that Collins is injured so Burke will definitely start and Josh Cullen is in the squad."

If true I just hope Benteke goes easy on the Burke.

According to this site we've already played and it finished goalless, creeping over the line slowly :-\

Got a weird feeling about this game, nagging feeling we will be overly confident / blasé and come unstuck. It's been such an unorthodox season that I'm expecting a nasty surprise. I hope I'm wrong.

I have been totally fed up with fans over to my left celebrating far too often this season. Even the win last week resulted in two celebrations by the Everton fans. So I would love to see a match that ends in X-0 to us. So please Villa do the right thing today!

We are playing with confidence now and you have to go into games believing you can win it.
Don't think Tim would let the lads be blasé.

Big Sam will want to win this game, so there's no chance of them being laid back about the game either.

You two should get a room in the Heartbreak Hotel or man up. We're going to win today, and the world will be a better place for it.

I'm going to the gym now and when I get back, you two will be 100% confident. Is that clear?

Strength in unity brothers.  Just 24hrs under the heel of the repressive regime that once again threatens to blight the joy from this once great nation, today we strike the first blow against the false "leader" of this land.  We will hit him where it hurts most, by defeating his beloved football team!!

Record-breaking time. Beeb website says we've not scored 3 or more in three consecutive home games since 1980! That's gotta go today.
I'll stick with my Everton prediction; wrong, but it worked. 4-1 us, Benteke twice, Hutton, Grealish, Devonshire for them.

Given

Hutton
Okore
Vlaar
Cissokho

Bacuna
Cleverley
Delph
Grealish

Agbonlahor
Benteke

Can't see too many changes myself.  I think he'll keep Bacuna and Richardson in the side, as they offer a bit more going forward, which I reckon he is after from his full-backs.  It will be interesting to see if any of those who have returned after being on will be on the bench (Bent, Gardner etc.)

                       Given

Bacuna   Okore     Vlaar      Richardson

                       Westwood

             Cleverley            Delph

                          Grealish

                Benteke          N'Zogbia

I'd bench gabby. Give him 25 mins at the end . Think we have looked good without him but would run him out for the Burnley game for fitness for the final.

I wouldn't. Back four, yeah, "proper" fullbacks back in. But the Westwood/Sanchez-Delph-Cleverley combination gives us such a more solid base for us to play our football now, irrespective of opposition. N'Zogbia has, imo, been integral in us spending so much time around the other end's goal, so he'd start for me. Gabby, I just don't know now any more. I'd maybe bring him on for Grealish once we're looking safe and in control, same with Bacuna on for N'Zogbia.
So, in short, fullbacks aside, it'd be as you were, gentlemen.

Bent isn't back at the club. He's not eligible to play, so Tim said that he could go on holiday early.

Looks like Gary was only back in training with Villa yesterday, so I doubt that he'll be involved (even if he's eligible, which I'm not sure about)

Our team is now performing better than most in the prem, we don't concede no more "daft goals" than any one else in this league, last week that tool clattenberg gifted everton their two goals, no penalty, and Given was fouled for their second.

Villa 4 camerons team fuck all, unless the ref wants to give them a goal
