Happy Birthday.

Happy birthday and many happy returns of the day!

Happy birthday!
-
I'm biased, of course, but Peter should be talked about far more often as one of Northern Ireland's greatest players. A belated Happy Birthday to a top player and top Villan.

Legend is a word bandied around very easily these days but this guy is one. Never had the pleasure of seeing him play but read a lot about it.
-
Or as David Cameron calls him, Bobby Moore
-
Without any doubt the greatest player to pull on the shirt of Aston Villa post war. Fast, extremely powerful, and a goal threat from the left wing and centre forward for Villa and Northern Ireland.
-
My dad maintains to this day that Mac was the best he has seen at Villa.
-
I really hope that on May 30th the players take the field and approach their task with the mentality he did in the 1957 Final.
Do that an we can finally win 'IT' - a fitting tribute to the Big Man.
Happy Birthday to an All Time Villa Great.

I would go much further. In the 1958 world cup he scored 5 goals. No other left winger has managed that, not Zagallo, Gento, Riva, Rivelino nor Rensenbrink. They weren't nothing goals either. Both goals in a 2-2 draw with holders Germany, and another brace in the 2-1 group play-off win over 1962 finalists Czechoslovakia.
He was one of only two truly world class players I have seen play for Villa, along with Paul McGrath.
Belated happy birthday here too.

Another belated Happy Birthday for Peter.
Too young to remember his playing days but often the subject of conversation between my father and his mate on our way to Villa Park. Not only a fantastic footballer but a true gent.
-
I've seen Gary Shaw and Gordon Cowans queuing for his autograph. Now THAT'S a legend.
-
Happy Birthday Peter!
One of my brother's favourites...I was just a tad too young to catch you...but I've watched those goals that won the cup in '57 so many times...and never tire of them.
