If you have a tip for the Grand National please put it on this thread, if you want to post about how nasty and cruel horse racing is for the horses etc. go and post on some animal friendly site. :)
My E/W Tips are: Balthazar King and Soll.

Spring Heeled for the tenuous (or not) link to The Smiths
-
If horse racing was banned, then all the horses would get killed. That's nasty.
Anyway, Shergar E/W. Shock return.

Rocky Creek

Cruel? These horses get treated better than a lot of people in this world. Balthazar King on the nose.

Spring Heeled to win at 20-1

I know they do, but every time I open a thread about a major horse race or meeting someone always bleats on about horses dying or being injured.

Night in Milan the win. Alvarado or Portrait King e/w.

If your neighbour was whipping his dog, would you call the RSPCA or a bookie?

Depends what odds the bookie was offering.

e/way THE DRUIDS NEPHEW

First time I've ever bet on the Grand National. Had £1 e/w on Tranquil Sea (100-1), Rubi Light (66-1) and Royale Night (28-1). £6 wasted! Added Across the Bay (33-1) to the above for £1 (e/w). Might go for Many Clouds (£1 e/w) tomorrow as it is trained by Sherwood. Silly sod that I am. Another £2 down the drain. £10 in all.
-
Won't bet on this A because it's cruel and B as I will a Shite Tart Lane and unable to watch.
-
Creosote - it goes great over fences.

I've got 25-1 on five horses getting killed, fingers crossed. Can't wait, I don't give a flying fuck about horse racing for 364 days and 23 hours of the year but the excitement of seeing loads of horses falling and, with luck, a few dying, always does it for me. Tradition innit. All those pissed up scouse slappers at Aintree too. And the horses love it because I've spoken to them.

This post has got me excited now! Happy Grand National day everyone, best of luck.

Good luck to all the horses. Let's hope they are back in their stables later.
-
I've expressed my views on the GN before so I won't repeat myself.
I love racing but it doesn't help itself at this time of year. It's bad enough for CH4 to waste time on fashion but to have Gok Wan yakking away while everyone wonders what happened to a fallen horse is pretty crass.
The horse, Seedling, died.
-
One horse killed so far so my bet is looking good. Still, I'm sure he or she enjoyed the race and all those horse lovers at a pissed up Aintree are now in mourning.
-
Bloody hell, no deaths yet but a few juicy fallers so keeping my fingers crossed

Spot on, a disgusting spectacle all round, I hope the fewest possible people have made any money and that as many as possible have lost huge amounts betting on it
