I've just been asked to mention that if you hear of a programme for the 1920 FA Cup final being offered for sale contact the Villa as one has been stolen from a collection.
-
I think it belonged to the bloke in the white hat at the front.

Worth about four grand apparently.

Don't tell me, they put it on display in a shop window.
When will they ever learn ?
-
There was also this a couple of days ago. Poor chap.

Uncle Frank played in the 1920 final and was captain for the 1924 one v Newcastle.
Am trying to work out, with several cousins, where/how all of his stuff ended up.

Is that the programme ?

Lovely pics Andy.
Uncle Frank is the player on far right, back row in the team photo, and to the left (as we look) of Billy Walker who is shaking hands with...is it Prince Edward?
Very precious programme that.
Did it go from Villa Park, Dave?

The cover silhill!
And a few related pics.
Or, so confident were they of a Villa victory they decided to put a photograph in the programme of the team with the trophy already in their possession!
:D

Thanks Frank, great pics Andy.

Silly question but has anyone checked eBay ?
-
There's always a chance that it was stolen to order. I don't know how it was displayed, but however it was there needs to be a serious review for the future.

Stolen from someone's house in a burglary, I believe. Police asked the club who asked us to spread the word.

Cheers Dave.
Clearly not the Belbroughton theft then, which mentions programmes from 50s, 60s.
(Interesting - the Belbroughton address: HOCKLEY BROOK Lane...family lived in Hockley (Brook) B19.)

I fully understand the historical connotations of this statement, but you should be able to display it where you like without some thieving Mongral scumbag etc etc.
