UTV
The Doc
-
Super.
-
That is quite lovely.
-
Ace.
-
It's going to confuse the inhabitants of Bordesley. "Ow can a peaky blinder be a viler?"
-
Excellent, thanks for posting.
-
Made me really miss home. Beautiful.
-
Love it UTV
-
Absolutely incredible. Genuinely moving. I really do love The Villa.
-
Wonderful stuff
-
Met him at a schools' do years ago...he was brilliant and very happy to talk about where we were both born, The Villa and vegan stuff.
I had to cuff several children out of the way to grab another minute or two of his time.
:D
-
The bit where he reveals the badge and says the name. Love that badge, love that name.
-
Excellent - I feel the heat really rising aorund this game: I hope the team can deliver.
-
awesome
-
he drove a TR7 for a long time which makes him either totally bonkers or totally optimistic, or a bit of both.
-
I had a piss next to him in the bogs in the away end at Upton Park about 10 years ago
-
That is fantastic.

Did he break out into prose in mid-flow?
-
Brilliant.
-
The Villa.
Love that bit.
-
Love it!
-
Really, really looking forward to this now. Come on Villa.
-
Made me really miss home. Beautiful.
Same.
:'(
-
He should be Villa's poet laureate.
-
That is just beautiful. Sheer poetry.
-
Beautiful. A great companion to that David Bradley piece. Both class. Benjamin's right.
-
Pure class UTV
-
Brilliant; he and I have a bit in common apart from the Villa - both born in Handsworth in the same year, 1958, me 46 days before him.
-
Top bloke. That's really got me buzzing (even more than before) for tomorrows game. We'll do those oiks.
-
Wouldn't we all love to do something like that! Fantastic, really classy, just like my beloved club
-
He is proper Villa. Compare him to that cushion-faced arse Chiles.
-
Love it. Says what we all feel.
-
Magnificent, truly magnificent. Made the hairs on the neck stand on end. And that ground and those facades...........
-
My Hero
-
Class. Skill. The Villa. Claret and Blue.
Wonderful.
-
I watch that and I think to myself it doesn't matter who the owner is, it is MY club.
-
Enjoyed that. I hope our players play with the same passion he has in the video
-
Love the video. Don't like the long vowel in "class" though - has our Benjamin been living down south?
-
Absolutely perfect. Couldn't think of a better guy to represent us. UTV.
-
From his poem 'Knowing Me'.
"With my Jamaican hand on my Ethiopian heart
The African heart deep in my Brummie chest,
And I chant, Aston Villa, Aston Villa, Aston Villa,
Believe me I know my stuff."
He knows what he is...................... ;)
-
"he knows what he is
he knows what he is
hes aston villa he knows what he is"
come on villa
-
It's brought a tear to my eye and got the goose bumps flowing. Lets have a magnificent afternoon. Come on you Lions!

Don't.We are Aston Villa. We know how this usually ends up.

Indeed. Still can't wait to get down to Villa Park though. No idea when I last said that. Possibly Blackburn 2010.
-
Superb. You're not getting to get such eloquence from Frank Skinner or Adrian Chiles are you?
-
Those bloody onions...
-
No dust here, it just put a bloody big smile on my face.
-
Those bloody onions...
Eh?
-
Win inspired by Benjamin. Looking forward to your next words of inspiration for the semis sir!
-
It was ace seeing him at half time.
-
That is truly brilliant.
-
Last year "the library was ours"
This year "the poet is ours"
I hope he writes something for Wemberlee
-
Thought he was brilliant and before this week I didn't even know he was a Villa fan! I noticed he climbed in to the Lower Holte towards the end of HT - did he stay there and/or was he there before HT?
-
Thought he was great at the game yesterday :)
-
Love the bit where he leans into the camera and says ' and you know what, we have class'
-
Any good books or web site for reading his poems, just to see what his work is like ?
-
And at the final, Abide With Me from a dias on the centre spot should be an instrumental performance by Nigel Kennedy. It will probably be against Liverpool so they can have a record of Pace and the Jerrymakers singing whatever it is they sing.
-

He was there in the first half. I was standing next to him in the gangway, halfway back, immediately before he went on the pitch to be interviewed at half-time.
-
Here he is at 53 seconds. Sorry if repost.
-
-
Enjoyed that.
-
Those bloody onions...
Eh?
Another blokey way of indirectly admiting to welling-up innit. It beats dustmites anyroad.
-
Thought he was great at the game yesterday :)
The half time interview was cringeworthy. It was almost as if Jack didn't have a clue who he was or what he did.
If the other interview was done pre-match it makes the HT one more bizarre
-
Beautiful stuff, what a guy.
