Ha, great stuff.

Although if does stray pretty close to suggesting armchair know alls should turn it in a bit, and I'm sure we all agree that's not on.

I agree with everything DW has written. I'm exhausted and glad I'm exhausted.

one of your best pieces Dave because it properly sums up the worst, the worst, the worst and then why we crawl back to it like some battered wife.

I love that. I'm an absentee fan; I can't afford to go to Villa Park currently, but my eldest is 5 next year and I cannot wait to bring him. He is going to love it. Football for me is Villa.

I would just like to say that Ben Foster is the greatest player in the glorious history of world football.

Bar none!!!

The last few years I have grown more and more cynical about top level football. That hasn't changed one bit.
I had also grown more apathetic about our own failings. By telling myself that I cared less I would be hurt less.
The last 15 minutes or so last night made me realise that I am still just as vulnerable riding the emotinal rollercoaster that comes from being in love with Aston Villa.

Excellent article, brought a smile to my face even though I'd guessed the last line before reading it.

Brilliant stuff Mr Woodhall.
(I'd hazard a guess that you were in quite a good mood when you jotted that down)

Good stuff.

Shakespeare had it right in Hamlet, "That one may smile, and smile, and be a villain."

That is so true. I hate the premier league and all c**p that goes with it yet still want us to survive to spend another season having fixtures messed about by Sky and so on.

There was an elegance to last night - a night match, fans who cared and no tourists, excited nervous chatter before the match, roaring support, effort and some skill, standing in the Lower Holte with a bunch of young lads who rapidly became friends for the night, the goal, the comeback and then the denouement - loved it
