Title: 11 Cup Finals
Post by: Legion on February 25, 2015, 06:56:49 PM
Very similar to the 'Be the 12th Man' campaign started by Ryan Griffiths:

I'm on board. Everyone needs to put aside their differences and grievances with the club for the next 12 games. We can get back to all of that in earnest in the summer once our safety has been secured. Relegation is unthinkable and unacceptable. Let's pull together.

I wonder if the English ever tire of cynicism?

There is naught else to do but stand firm and get behind them. The best atmosphere we have had at Villa Park in years was against Sunderland and the players responded. We might as well see if we can inspire the same again.

did it really surprise you though we couldn't go more than two posts on what was meant to be a positive thread without someone being cynical? There is a lot of places to go on H&V to be miserable/cynical/skeptical. It's like a virus and even well intentioned threads are invaded.

So true. I will never forget that night, we were immense and so were the team. Particularly remember Lowton being absolutely unstoppable.

Tommy dochertys said that if you hung out 11 villa shirts to dry on a Sunday after the game 10,000 fans would turn up just to watch them dry.
That's how big this club is well come on then let's show the bleeding world that we are a big club and roar the lads on  remember hull last season when we needed 3 points atmosphere was awesome when hull came back to 2-1 we stayed with the lads and the twelfth Man was there .
Also bring the balloons with you like we did in the 70s who can remember saints away in f.a. Cup 3rd round when game was delayed because of all the balloons on the pitch that's what we want back at villa.
Let's roar us to safety and dump those stripey shites out of the f.a. Cup to

For all of you that never went to Rotterdam well this can be YOUR ROTTERDAM

Let's do it.  Negativity is the enemy in this situation, especially when there's so much still to play for.  If anyone from the Club is reading this thread, if there's any way you could get Peter McParland in to chat to the players prior to the FA Cup match, all the better. Former players, staff and supporters, let's all pull together and lift this great old club up the table and onwards to Wembley.  Believe in the power of The Villa.

I fear that we will only see the '12th man' level of support for the last home game or 2 of the season. There's still 3 months left and a lot of people aren't going to buy tickets until they either see an improvement or it gets to crunch time, as it stands the Baggies league game is under 30k.

Well, if last week's cup final was anything to go by then there's no point attempting to proceed in the FA Cup. Joking aside, I'm praying for some sort of result to bring back some hope.

I think you gradually get sucked in. You make the champions league and people wouldn't baulk at £50-60 a ticket , then £70, £75 etc etc.

Getting his ass in a seat pitch side down with the fans like Tony Fernandes did would be nice.

Sure they went down anyway but it was a good gesture.

Exactly . We are in this together right ? If we go down we all go together side by side. Likewise if we stay up we all party like it's 1999.

Given our lack of backbone we'd be better off telling the players we have 11 friendlies, just go out there and play with no pressure. I couldn't see them getting a win in one cup final, never mind winning several.

If you offered me now that we could go into the last game against Burnley needing a draw to stay up I would take it.
