Title: Which Six Will Go
Post by: Vic the Villian on February 22, 2015, 04:29:49 PM
here is a good one if the worse comes to the worse and Timmy cannot save us, we are bound to lose at least six players
which six would you let go

                                             Gabby
                                             Benteke
                                             Delph
                                             Cole
                                             Vlaar
                                             Cissokho

and of course Sinclair and Cleverly would hop it

I don't get it.

Are you saying you think those players would go, or you'd actually choose to let them go? If so, am slightly baffled why you'd choose to get shot of Delph and Benteke.

We'd be stuck with Gabby no one would want him he's bloody awful.

Delph will get out of his contract somehow (he may even have a relegation clause in there) Benteke don't want to be here now so he will want to get away, and don't forget Sherwood needs money to rebuild

After close scrutiny of our squad, I have drawn up the following short list of regular first-team squad members for the chop:
(*I may keep Shergar as he still has a bit of pace compared to Gabby).

Players leaving contractually anyway
Vlaar
Cleverly
Bent
Sinclair
N'Zogbia
Stevens

Players who will activate a release clause -
Guzan
Hutton
Delph
Weimann
Benteke
Sanchez
Gil

I wouldn't let any of them go. Unless they have release clauses then we will need them all for the following campaign. Fuck them and their egos. They got us into this, they can help us come back up if that's what happens.

I don't think N'Zogbia is out of contract this summer and what's the point in speculating about clauses in players contracts. None of us know what's in there. Players like Scott Parker have had to drop down a league and get on with it.

How exactly do you know the contents of their contracts?

A romantic idea, but the reality will be that they will throw a strop and get a move away one way or another.

Apologies , that's just my opinion of players who will have and activate said clauses .

Yep. They will be off faster than a rat up a drainpipe .

Newcastle didn't sell all of their players when they went down. We don't have to either.

There's not many id fancy In the championship to be honest. We will need to rebuild a more suited squad to the environment .

This defeatist crap is getting right up my pip. There are twelve games left. We're not down yet. How about some showing some balls and some fight and stop willing us to go down - leave that to the bitter birds and the knuckledraggers.

Quite right Jimbo. Twelve games left  it could be anybody. If we beat Newcastle anything is possible.

We would need a big, hard, strong centre forward, a couple of good, pacey wide players, a very strong, physical central midfielder.

They would be replacing Vlaar, Okore who I reckon will attract bids, Cissokho who I think a european side will shell a couple of million for, Delph, Sanchez who I expect will be back in Spain, Cleverley. I would try everything to get Sinclair to come next season anyway, I think we would have an outside chance, and he would be a great asset in the Championship. Gil might stay. Benteke would be gone. Gabby I would hope will be gone, but fear he will still be here. Weimann might get a move to Germany or Holland for a couple of million maybe.

And WM, who were doing their usual gloating after the game.

Didn't we win away at Southampton last season?

This.  There's thirty-odd points to play for and there's a hair's breadth between five or six teams.  Dig deep.

A hair's breadth between four and the potential of from 12th down to be drawn in to it.

By that logic we should look at everyone else's fixture list and discount all of the games those teams should lose as well. Because had we done that before yesterday Burnley would have lost for sure at Chelsea. It doesn't work like that, and we have to approach every game with the opportunity to win. Nothing is a given.

You reckon?

He's got a year left on his contract, and I can't see where else he would go who would pay him his current wage.

Yes there are 36 points to play for, and in a normal world Villa easily get what's required, but this is a "Villa" team that have no confidence, Agbonlahor leading the line, Benteke already gone, Vlaar sealing our fate and Lerner watching his plaything drop out of the money...and would you trust the remnants of this squad (after they've all f**ked off) to get us back up?  Tim Sherwood is no Graham Taylor, but if he keeps this shower of shite passing itself off as Aston Villa in the Premiership (thanks Lambert!!) we're not paying him enough.

What you may see is a promoted side over him a 3 year deal on less money.
Or an MLS club would suit him.
