Benteke's had us off our feet quite a lot in fairness in the last two years. I guess from the creative/tricky side of things Gil has that excitable factor we've not had since Ashley Young.

yes, we've seen some brilliant goals in the last few seasons and Benteke has had some screamers in there. Gil's was up there with the very best of them, plus those by Lowton, Weimann and Delph to name but a few that stick in the memory.
At last though after a long stretch a bit more optimistic, and hopefully we can carry this forward into the weekend and a very tough game vs Arsenal. Today doesn't mask the fact we haven't scored in the league in ages and if we can't find a way through at The Emirates we will likely come away empty handed.

it would be easy to say that they have promotion as a bigger priority so played an undermanned side if it wasn't for all the other shocks in this round. Benteke looked good before the sending off he will come good again, Great news about Delph all we need now is two more of the qaulity of Gil.

Nice one Dave.
Agree completely about Weimann - let him play in his proper position for more than a few games and see if we can get that partnership with Benteke going again.
Thought Okore and Clark were superb too.
Fab news about er...Fab!
;-)
