All at Aston Villa Football Club extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr Jones's family at this difficult time. At an appropriate moment we will make arrangements to recognise Mr Jones's support in our matchday programme. We will also ensure that he is remembered at our memorial service, which will be held later in the season and an invitation will be extended to Mr Jones's family to be present and to participate. They are in our thoughts and prayers and in the thoughts and prayers of our supporters.

Well done, Villa.
-
Very good and an appropriate response.
-
Yep. Well measured comment.
-
Thoughtful response.
Well done Villa.
-
Perfect. Really nicely done Villa.
-
Yes good response, whilst I know a minutes applause would have been nice it would set a precedent that would become unsustainable.
-
Copied from another forum site:
This Thursday there's a planned minutes applause in memory of Brian Jones who unfortunately passed away after yesterdays game the minutes applause will be on the 71st minute of the crystal palace game pass the word around to other villa fans please RIP Brian GBNF

Out of respect for his family can we please not debate the applause here. Thank you.

I don't think he was telling you off, just saying that it's probably best not to make any further comment on here beyond what you've posted.

Agreed.

Did anyone think it was a bit weird the Mail photoshopped the picture of the two on their front page with VP as a background this morning as when you read the story on page 5 there was the original picture with them I think in the Witton.
Anyway...I do think the club have done the right thing at what is a difficult time.
I was thinking aswell given people last week were suggesting that gloryhunting dad and kids get the executive box/V.I.P treatment. I'd say a few months down the line the daughter would be far more deserving of that given her most recent memory of VP would be horrible currently.

Massive well done to the club.

and to Paul Lambert himself.

That's lovely. It chocked me when I saw Emily with her banner at the Palace game. Life's too short.
Well done Aston Villa and Paul Lambert.
