Would be lovely to turn our new-found love of possession into goals and points.
2-0. Benteke and Weimann.
-
0-0.
-
I'm convinced we are going to give someone a good twatting soon. I'm hoping it will be this game.
-
0-0
We'll bore each other to death.
-
If everyone on here chips in £1 to my retirement fund, I promise not to attend...
-
Keep playing the way we are and the possession stats will result in creating more chances and the goals will come. 2-0 us and a Happy New Year
-
Us 3 Them 1
-
1-1.
Since the 8 nil Sunderland haven't actually conceded that many goals, especially away from home.
One of those games we have actually most of the possession but waste too many chances and concede a cheap goal I fear.
Think we're more likely to beat Palace of the two home games coming up.
-
dismal draw
-
Good home win here. Hopefully we can take that second half dominance and carry it across the entire game against Sunderland.
-
0-0
We'll bore each other to death.
This.
-
Hope so. With the bottom three all losing.
-
0-0.
-
2-0.
-
Next two games are big. We could move right up and away from the bottom three. Turn that possession into goals though eh?
-
We need to win. 1-0 Sanchez.
-
We need a convincing performance and some goals.
Saying that I'd take a 1-0.
-
As an aside I've moved house recently and despite changing my address the tickets I ordered on Viagogo have predictably been sent to my old house so with it being xmas no chance of them coming on it.
Viagogo have been quite good and said I can get a reprint from the Trinity Road Kiosks on matchday, anyone know whereabouts they are in relation the stand.
Was thinking of just going down to Villa Village tomorrow with confirmation email and attempting to get a reprint that way.

Go to the where the McGregor statue is and they are just across from there.

Cheers boss.
Is it part of that merch stall or one of the Claret and Blue kiosks?
-
If you stand by the statue with Village behind you, there are a row of kiosks to your right. That's where you get them from.
-
My nephew is a mascot on Sunday. Therefore Villa 9 (nine) Sunderland 0
-
2-0, Benteke and Sanchez
-
I might be inclined to give Grealish a go in midfield in place of Gabby.
-
Before today I might have been more optimistic about this match. Probably a draw.
-
I think this will be 0-0
-

Just to add the viagogo collection system is really efficient. All tickets laid out alphabetically and plenty of staff so there's no delay or fannying around waiting for the ticket.
-
Ah. If only collecting points was as easy as collecting tickets.
-
1-1 Benteke for us, Marco Gabbiadini for them
-
Good home win here. Hopefully we can take that second half dominance and carry it across the entire game against Sunderland.
That's what I'll be praying for too.
-

Think Gabby is suspended sunday after the yellow he got today.
I'm with you, I would start Grealish in place of him anyway.
2-1 The Beast, Delph
-
Sunderland won their cup final last weekend so hopefully they will have their feet up for a couple of games now. Judging by yesterday (1-3 Hull) they have !
-
Thought it was two poor teams last weekend, with Sunderland edging the chances. I noticed they didn't have any full backs, not sure whether they'll have players back now, but they seemed to play in a 10 yard corridor through the middle. Them getting beat yesterday was no real surprise based on that.
-
Winning these three home games in a week would be a massive boost. I am going for a rubbish game and a scrappy 1-0 or 2-1 win.

What a lovely thought Damo but Villa dont do 3 wins in a row, if we did this site would be such a deliriously happy place
-
Draw. This one I think will actually be tougher than Swansea. Largely because of fitness. That said, they seem to be a side who tires easily so I would hope they'll be suffering as much as us. This could go either way. I'd really like to see us get at them and keep on the front foot.
-
Disappointing result yesterday but the performances are improving. If Benteke is not at his absolute best then we are struggling to score. Cleverley and Cissokho are continuing to struggle but at least Lambert changed things early on yesterday. Poor again from Guzan for their goal yesterday.
Goes without saying that we need to make changes, the chances of Vlaar making it through 2 games in 3 days must be pretty slim so maybe revert to our usual back four. Would look to get Bacuna into the midfield with Cleverley dropping out. Weimann and Grealish to bring some freshness up top. Gabby to sit it out.
-----------------Guzan
Hutton, Okore, Clark, Cissokho
---------------Sanchez-----------
-----------Bacuna, Delph
----------------Grealish
------------Weimann, Benteke
-
On the fitness front Sunderland have little more to choose from than we do. Perfect game to let Grealish start, sat off Tekkers, however it'll be Weimann obviously. 2-1 Villa. Got to be 3 points lets not start heading back towards the bottom 3!
-
We do kind of need to win this game.
-
Lowest goalscorers in all four divisions versus a side with just 15 all season. Nailed on 0-0 draw!
-
Need a win here and I think GREALISH may start
Got to be a back four surely

politely speaking I hope you back it seeing as it is free money and come out skint. I'll go for the home win 2-0 at 9-1

We really need to win this game so I'm going for a 1-0 win for us.

£20 on it which I'd be delighted to part with for the 3 points.
£160 will soften the blow of a dour 0-0.
-
This fixture was a dour 0-0 last season.
However, this time around I think we have goals in us, Benteke and Grealish. 2-1 Villa.

He had to do a teacher thing that night so I was texting him updates. I think it was the only home game he missed that season.
-
As each goal went in his replies got funnier and funnier. Well I found them funny anyway. Sorry Leeg!

What's stopping Sunderland scoring in the last minute if it's 0-0?

Chuckle...oh I know very well he had to miss it. It is endless joy reminding him of arguably our best Lambert evening given that it happened during his absence.
Erm...sorry Leeg

Cries. Sobs.

These were a couple of his replies.

Any competently organized team that comes to Villa Park with a plan of sitting back in numbers and picking us off will get a result. So much is clear.
Fortunately for us, Gus Poyet is a maverick and may decide to chance his arm. If he does, I think we will win. If he plays for the draw I think he will leave with all three points.
-
A win. No excuses. Sunderland are not in great form. They are there for the beating.
-
They are there for the beating
How many times have we said this for 'winnable' fixtures?
-
I hope he switches it up and rotates, I'd drop Cleverley and start Grealish, Bacuna and N'Zog.
I'd also drop Cissokho if Vlaar can manage this many games so soon, him with Okore, Clark and Hutton looks pretty solid to me.
The width can come from either Bacuna, Zoggy or Grealish and we wouldn't have to see any of Aly's piss poor crossing.
-Guzan-
Hutton--Okore--Vlaar--Clark
Sanchez----Delph
Bacuna---Grealish---N'Zogbia
-Benteke-
Weimann will definitely start and probably Cleverley, so it's a toss up of any of my forward 3 who will replace Gabby.
-
With Bacuna in the team I can see us getting some decent deliveries into Benteke; I'd rather see him over N'Zogbia.
-
I'm going to stick a fiver on us winning 3-1.
Or 4-1.
Anyway, Villa win.
-
Once we have concluded our never ending search for that elusive second goal we might go on and score more....
Oh No we can't...........Oh Yes we can!!!
'Tis the pantomime season after all
-
3-0 Home win, I know it sounds ridiculous doesn't it?
-
I'd like to see
--------- Guzan ----------
Hutton. Okore. Clark. Cissoko
-------Sanchez Delph -------
Bacuna --------------Grealish
-------benteke --Robinson -----
-
I think it's really important we win today so that Lambert doesn't abandon trying to pass the ball.
-
With Bacuna in the team I can see us getting some decent deliveries into Benteke; I'd rather see him over N'Zogbia.
I'd rather you play than CNZ
-
2-0 they are shizen
-

I'd rather play with ten men than play CNZ. Oh it's the same thing isn't it?
-
I'm going for a 2-0 win. Sunderland are poor and i genuinely think with Gabby being out we stand a better chance.
-
Look like i'll be selling on Trinity Road so come and say hello and buy the fanzine.
-
Has to be a win today.
We don't have that many key injuries. The opposition aren't in good form. We have a new plan. We are at home. There seems no excuse why we can't play some football today and get a good result and performance.
2-0 Villa boys.
-
Hi, Im sure this has been mentioned before but I cant find it anywhere. Can anybody help me with the best time to go and see the players arrive? Im taking my son for his second game. The last time I got an autograph (when I was a boy) the club shop was where they now go in!
Thanks
-
Top end of the North Stand car park right on the corner of the ground. It is fenced off, but you never know your luck. After the game might be a more realistic option.

3-0 Villa win! Happy Days!

How can I get one of the printed copies?? in fact I need two, can I get them by post.
Cheers
Thanks

2-0 home win, Gabby with both.
I'm really struggling to get excited about this one, meh.

Its maybe because you know Gabby is suspended?
-
1-1
I'm wary of Sunderland, they seem to play better when nothing's expected of them.
-
Difficult one to call really, as Sunderland can be unpredictable. Gonna sit on the fence and say 1-1, although hopefully we can edge it.
-
Feeling good about this one this morning, as long as we keep the ball and dictate the game, using a playmaker (Cleverley / Bacuna / Delph), I really think we can stomp them.
-
Immune system worked its usual wonder; if the game had been yesterday, my man-flu would have kept me away. But now, only optimism courses through my veins. And I'm bringing the never-seen-us-lose better half. Can't see anything other than us sending those black cats back home with their tales between their legs. Looking forward to this Villa week, don't let me down!
3-0 us.
-
3-0 to the Villa Stan Lynn hat trick.
-
Just arrived in Aston. Simply put, it is a stunning winters day in the uk today. Sunny and crisp and not a cloud in the sky.
-
Persists with N'Somnia again, fucking hell man he's shite.
-
FFS lambert !!!

@AVFCOfficial: #AVFC (v @SunderlandAFC): Guzan, Hutton, Vlaar, Clark, Cissokho, Cleverley, Delph, Sanchez, N'Zogbia, Weimann, Benteke. #AVFCLIVE
-
Okore rested. Zog in
-
Team selection sums our manager up boring and predictable !
-
Why is Okore on the bench?
And yet another chance for CNZ to be absolutely shite.
