That said I didn't want Gabby to start today so at least Lambert has agreed as he does fcuk all in home games.

Good to see Baker back in for Clark but really don't rate either Westwood or Cleverley. They don't do anything going forward or defensively. Hope Delph is back quicker than the time scale given.

Oh well....good luck lads

Pretty much the side I'd have picked. I know n'zogbia is incredibly frustrating but we're so low on creativity that I think it's worth taking the chance

I presume a sort of 433 or 4231 with cleverley the more advanced of the three?

I thought Richardson was doing well, in the team including Senderos and Delph that started the season strongly. No Lambert team selection in memory has ever helped to understand his aims and intentions.

I'm wondering if Okore pissed off Lambert by going off to play with Denmark before he was proved fit to play with us? I still think his omission is a balance thing with Clark he who is left sided, but it's got me wondering why else is he not worthy of at least a spot on the bench?

Something very suspect with Okore's absence.

In the City-United game they were talking about Falcao who did his Cruciate too. They said that it takes about a year before a player can run again and about another year before they are back to their best. We've seen that too, with Delph probably being the best example. So that might be the case with Okore now. I would like to see us get him out on loan if he's not ready for Premier League football.

Nonsense and you know it. You only need to read the Gabby thread to see how he's had his highs and lows in that time. N'Zogbia's greatest contribution in that time was being injured. At least then he wasn't a liability.

peaking to Sky Sports about his decision to drop Gabriel Agbonlahor: "It's hard for any player who isn't playing. Gaby's been great for me - and it's the first time I've left him out since I came here. Sometimes you can get a reaction for a player too. It's just a tactical thing which may work.
"Charlie [N'Zogbia] been unlucky to be left out lately. He has that creative spark, and I hope he can combine with Christian [Benteke] to get us something.

Fairly good going forward but still looking for Benteke every time, the ball in to Weimann was a beauty, just a bit worried we are going to stand off them and invite them on which is fairly standard practice for Villa in the Lambert era. N'Zogbia has moments where he looks real dangerous, other times he looks bewildered. Nathan Baker playing well.

We definitely need a second. Benteke' best chance of getting it is probably in the next twenty as he must tire surely

Would like to think we've got an option to replace sanchez but not sure we do. He's been good in spells but will tire and has been diving in to a few challenges. We do still look like we've got a classic villa park mistake in us still . .

Lemela will hurt us.

Kane could too.

Lowton has been excellent going forward. Defensively he needs Weimann to keep a bit of discipline and help him, we are wide open down their left.

Benteke looks beastly, but a bit rusty.

Sanchez ok, Cissokho dodgy.

Interesting game with two pretty poor teams trying to climb out of their respective slumps. Guzan has kept us in this but Benteke seems to have bought some belief to the team, just knowing he's there makes us stronger. We need to continue to out fight Spurs which shouldn't be too hard as they don't seem up for a fight and just get some decent service to Benteke. He's going to score today.

Not for me. Bent's hold up play is awful and we'll end up camped in our own half which is a risk anyway. I expect Spurs to exert some pressure so we need to be a threat on the break. And I doubt zog will last the whole game

Owner & manager need to be hounded out.

I really don't think this one is their fault.
The fact our team is made up of chancers, has beens and lower league tryers absolutely is their fault.

Vertonghen and Chadli have both given the ref decision and he saw a white shirt and didn't give it. Weak man.

Spurs are a lightweight team with a load of niggly fouling gits who refs favour going on today. We don't deserve to lose this game to these twats

Don't be so fucking stupid, Benteke getting sent off really didn't help did it?

Can't blame the ref for Benteke. If you raise your arm you are off! Doesn't matter who you are!
Benteke should never have given the ref the option!

Sanchez should not have given away a free kick so easily!

That's it with us though, a team that never learns. Full of should haves and could haves, stupid decisions made week in week out either from the sideline or on the pitch and i'm fucking sick to the back teeth of losing football matches.

Yes, and they were playing well until one who's definitely not a chancer or a has-been or a lower league trier got himself sent-off, and dubiously at that, while Spurs have had the rules re-written to allow them to lunge in whenever they feel like with virtual impunity. Today the team can feel a bit hard done by, I think.

If thats the case have a look at the vertongen incident where Kaboul raises his arms and pushes a Villa player in the chest. Right in front of the referee who simply ignored it.

Whatever, you're not unlucky if you lose six in a row. You're shit and in a relegation fight. Again.

it's no good blaming the ref we need to have some discipline, Weimann was also lucky not to go!
Frustration is obviously so high throughout the team.

relegation at this rate look on!

It has to end somewhere surely, we can't go on like this we've lost 19 of the last 30 games now, won 7. It's actually getting worse under him than better.
