I'd take this tomorrow! My favourite away game ever. 2nd time in a week we'd thrown away a 3 goal defecit although this time it had a happy ending with a Deano winner.

Another game from that season, 5-0 at home to Wigan, often fondly remembered as the Lamptey game.

Savo hat-trick vs Coventry from 1995-96. God it almost hurts watching these clips all these years later.

The Spurs game was our only win in a run of 15 league games. And iirc Wigan were bottom of the football league at the time.

This has to be one of my favourite ever games even if the second half was torturous . It's not often you get in a game late to find Villa 2 up already.

We came so close to the drop in that season but there was certainly no shortage of entertainment that year.

This was the first game after BFR had been sacked . Was it Jim Barron i think in charge.

Yep. 100% win record!

I remember watching Klinsmann in the second half produce a master class at leading the line , think he scored 2 or possibly all 3 of their goals.
Deano for us with the winner , absolutely superb day out .

Remember listening to the goals show on WM, runningaround the house like a madman, well kid, when Saunders got the winner, I was convinced it was Spurs who had got the winner!

Fuck sake, that second Fenton goal caught-out the cameraman, anyone got a better clip of it?
Random observation, I'm not gay or owt but Bossie looked hot as fuck with his head shaved. Brought out his piercing eyes better. Better than cocaine ever did anyroad.

This was his second full season and for the most part he was dreadful, way too cocky and confident and he let goals in that the previous season he'd have mopped up blindfolded. I remember a couple of clangers at Anfield and Loftus Road (the QPR game was where he raced well out of his area to beat Dichio to a long ball and ended up missing it completely and conceding as a result. His kicking, never his strong suit, was at its worst in a game at home to the Owls, his goal kick went straight to Sheff Wed's Atherton who promptly lobbed Bossie for a rare goal. I also remember he got sent off at Leeds in the last few minutes or so and we lost the game 1-0 leaving us looking almost nailed on for relegation at the time but thankfully both Villa and Bosnich were back to their best the following season.
