Title: Cardboard Arrows
Post by: Des Little on October 28, 2014, 04:39:48 PM
If ever there was a time for these, it's Sunday.  In fact lets get the Holte full of them, and another lot from the dugout to the bus stop.

Nice idea, but it implies a bit of humour.

there is absolutley nothing to laugh about at Villa park

I sit in row three of the upper Holte, so I am in perfect banner position really.

Unfortuantely I am not very good at colouring in between the lines.

If Villa carry on like this, the Holte will soon have the room for us to do it.

I don't know why we shouldn't laugh. For me it's the only way to align the fact that we spend a fortune following our team through think & thin, with the fact that this is something we choose to do in our spare time for FUN!

Like 'let's pretend we've scored a goal' (which no doubt we'll do 'for a laugh' at some point tomorrow but for me it's got a bit old now) or the Sunderland fans singing 'We'll still be last on the match of the day' after they lost 8-0 - humour is what gets you through.

I'd love to do the arrows thing - I just don't think we'll ever get it organised. If you look at that video, they appeared to be down to quite a small crowd by that point, so a couple of motivated people could make 'some' arrows and get a really good effect.

The Holte is huge, and despite dropping attendances, still has too many people in it for this to work with anything but a massively co-ordinated effort. This isn't coming together for tomorrow - although, I can't help thinking that if I went to the trouble of making myself a big arrow, on the off chance that enough others have picked up on the idea for it to work, we'll score in the 3rd minute! (so I might just do it!)

I have visions of the stewards searching people looking for cardboard arrows.
