No Okore again? What's going on there?
-
No Okore again? What's going on there?
Good question
-
We really should get smashed when you look at the sides, especially what they have on the bench.
-
So 3 points for us it is then.
-
No Okore again? What's going on there?
Good question
Indeed.
-
No Okore again? What's going on there?
Good question
I suspect there is a problem if Okore does not feature even on the bench. He is after all supposed to be fit

It's either that or I suspect simply a case of Baker and Clarks combined 150+ Premier League appearences compared to Okores 150 or so minutes. I think we'll see Okore eased in over easier games.
-
On paper we could be getting absolutely trounced today. That's a side that's a country mile better than the Arsenal side we played last week, and a whole shit load more betterer than the Liverpool side we beat.
But...we normally (the odd horrible exception aside) play quite well against Chelsea.
I think it'll go one of two ways. We'll either get a result, or we'll fall apart and get royally pillocked by 6-7 goals.
-
5 nil to them
-
Feeling optimistic Ozzjim? I think we'll be battered too, sadly.
-
Dowd is the referee *shudders*
-

I really fear for us today.
-
I don't. I think we'll set just like we did at Liverpool and squeeze them every time they attack into a small space in our third denying them space. We don't have Bennett and Lowton at full back, but two good ones who are also very good in the air. If we lose it will be by at the very most two goals. I still think we can come away with something.
-
5 nil to them
I think it will be 4 or 5-0 too, sadly.
-
I only saw Okore for a period v Parma but he looked a dreadful player, short of confidence and fitness.
-
100% possession
-
Phil Dowd. What's the odds on giving them (another) dubious pen
-
Our fans making good noise now let's hope we are still doing so at the end.
-
Fabregas has 6 assists already this season. Fooking nora.
-
We're going to get smashed. *Sigh*
-
Great.
-
This is going to be a long day.
-
Oh well, we lasted 6 minutes.
-
Here we go then. Bollocks.
I hate chavski so much.
-
Here we go.
-
The only saving grace is I can't find a working stream so I'm listening 5 Live Sports Extra
-
Reality
-
Radio blaming Weimann for not tracking back.
-
I can seen the players they have, but come on 6 mins.
-
Top class falling over from Hutton. He never used to fall over with such determination and grit.
-
Reality
That we aren't as good as a team who look like they'll piss the title this season?
-
Right off to do something else just a case of how many now . So predictable !
-
Oh well. Here's hoping a massive asteroid doesn't obliterate Stamford Bridge in the middle of the night.
-
Are we winning yet ?
-
50-1 villa win.
-
We look vulnerable as shit but at the same time there's actually been some decent stuff going forward.
-
Guzan's distribution has been appalling this season so far.
-
Next goal is crucial
-
Doesn't sound as though we've been too bad so far.
-
I think we'll get a goal today. I think chelsea will score again too though.
-
Carry on at this rate and we will be outside the champs league spots by tonight,
unacceptable
-
54% possession for Villa
-
Doesn't sound as though we've been too bad so far.
We haven't. Passed it well enough.
-
We've looked good going forward so I think all is not lost yet.
Good to see a decent delivery from a corner.
-
I hope Doug gives Abramovich the bird today
-
We're actually not playing thatnbadly, but for some stupid defending for the goal.
-
Cahill dirty fucker
-
We're actually not playing thatnbadly, but for some stupid defending for the goal.
still looks like there is a division difference in class I'm afraid.
-

That's what comes with spending multiple divisions more than the great majority of your competition.
-
Cahill quickly learning Chelsea ways.
-
Well we still can't keep the ball off throw ins. Passing it better than last season though.
-

yep, just sad to see.
-
We could do with Cahill getting sent of, sooner the better
-
Our attacks are getting fewer now.
-
We are parking the bus
-
doesn't matter how well we defend if we can't manage a shot.
-
Maybe we're trying to keep it as it is until late on and then have a go for an equaliser.
-

A cunning plan
-
I'd have had Benteke on bench for 5 min run out.
-
I'd have had Benteke on bench for 5 min run out.
I wouldn't. After the injury he had there is no point trying to bring him back too soon.
-
We're pretty awful to watch, so boring. Keep the ball when we get it, scrap this one up front nonsense, close fabregas down.....cleverley looks knackered.
The team is defending well but jesus Lambert, inject some creativity into the team. Delph looks classy.
Come on Villa!
-
I'd have had Benteke on bench for 5 min run out.
Nope
-
A worry is they've said a few times on the radio that we're looking tired. Are we?
-
I'd have had Benteke on bench for 5 min run out.
Nope
If he can run around, not sure why a 10 min spell would hurt
-
I'd have had Benteke on bench for 5 min run out.
Nope

Because it might crock him again.
-
I'd have had Benteke on bench for 5 min run out.
Nope
If he can run around, not sure why a 10 min spell would hurt
I think the management and medical staff of Aston Villa would be better placed to make that decision, having worked with the player for the last few months. They obviously feel he's not ready.
-
We're still so wasteful.
-
What a boring game
-
Not bad but we need to find some kind of threat. Our passing is quite good.
-

I must admit I always shouted 'gamble' during Bullseye.
-
We are the worst and most boring team in the league
-
We are the worst and most boring team in the league
No we're not.
-
We've done okay. We're still in it, but I think one more from Chelsea will kill us.
Too many high hopeful early crosses are going in the box. We need to use a bit more of our pace and movement up front, not play balls in that suit Benteke. We're a bit too static at times in possession. When we up the tempo a bit and show some movement, we look half decent on the ball.
Still it's all a bit of a stroll in the park for Chelsea. We've offered no threat.
I'd like to see us be a bit more adventurous. I'd sacrifice Weimann for either Grealish or Zogbia.
-
We are the worst and most boring team in the league
Yes we are. How many points adrift at the bottom are we?
-
We are the worst and most boring team in the league
That's a bit strong. We've defended well against a team that is likely to win the league and passed the ball well. Ok, we need a bit more up front but if we had Benteke back, we would have a much greater threat.
If I was offered 3 points from the 3 games against Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, I'd have said yes without hesitation.
-
I guess the plan is to keep things tight/bore them to sleep until maybe the 75 minute mark, then open up a little and try to luck into an equaliser.
After that good early start though they look pretty devoid of ideas going forward though. Just a bunch of speculative long balls/crosses which Terry and Cahill are gobbling up
-

I missed the first ten minutes and perhaps I've not been concentrating enough, but I've only heard Weimann's name mentioned once in the commentary.
-

I think its called being pragmatic.
-
The only way we can improve is to bring Grealish on for Weimann or possibly Richardson and tell him to drift around.
-

Grealish? Yes. N'Zogbia? No thanks.
Mourinho will have them at it from the start of the second half trying to get that second goal so he can rest a few players. I worry that the players he brings on will really do us a lot more damage.
-
Was it Sartre who said that everything in football is complicated by the presence of the other team? Whatever our plan may be, the fact is that Chelsea are better than us and will very likely frustrate our attempts to execute it.
-
I really, really, really hate Chelsea.
That is all.
-
Was it Sartre who said that everything in football is complicated by the presence of the other team? Whatever our plan may be, the fact is that Chelsea are better than us and will very likely frustrate our attempts to execute it.
I think it was Jimmy Hill.

I think it was Jimmy Hill.
Or Howard Wilkinson.

It was definitely Phil Neal.
-
Brian Clough.
-
Delph is looking class.
-
hurry the fuck up and sign him up
-
We have played ok so far.
-

No, Phil Neal said:
“A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”
The other was Jimmy Hill.

Hell is being forever trapped in a room with Phil Neal. Even with two of you, the conversation would be one sided.
-
The one weakness I think Chavski have is Cahill & EBJT can struggle when players run at them. We need to get Gabby going at them, or get Grealish or even Zog doing it.
-
gabby really does try dumb things when in good positions.
-
What does the 'EB' stand for in 'EBJT'? 'E-Bola'?
-
What does the 'EB' stand for in 'EBJT'? 'E-Bola'?
England's Brave.
-
We're doing ok against a much better team. It's frustrating that a team in our division is so much stronger than us, but there you are.
-
Our crossing's fucking shit, as Kierkegaard once said.
-
When you rely on your full-backs for width its really handy if they can cross.
EDIT: Too slow.....
-
Our crossing's fucking shit, as Kierkegaard once said.
Villa's play is pumped forwards and defended backwards.
-
Bollocks. Game over
-
Oh well. Just as we were getting into it a bit.
-
set pieces are awful
-
Our midfield 3 look quite balanced for once.
-
As James Joyce once said: "Ah, shite."
-
As long as it doesn't turn into a mauling.
-
Amusingly, Rooney has been sent off.
-
Suppose it's taken them longer than they expected.
-
Good goal. Game over. That's just a bit too much class there. Unfortunately coming after our best spell in the game.
-
Quality goal though.
-
That's that then.
At least we only have to play them once more this season and the result could well be different then.
-
Just as we were starting to get into the game a bit.
-
Unambitious crap, Villa. Really awful set piece deliveries from Westwood, the most recent corner and the free kick just before their second. Disappointing and predictable tactics from Lambert.
-
TC has looked good today. He's looking the part. I look forward to seeing him play in November when he's got a better chance of stamping authority on the game.
-
The simple, and very depressing, fact is that Chavski are a far better side than we are. That and this game coming on the back off the virus I suppose we haven't done too bad. Better than a lot of us thought we would. I just hope we don't do a collapse now.
-
Should have been 3 apparently. I hate listening on the radio rather than watching on a dodgy stream
-
The remaining half hour is going to be messy.
-
Westwood has played some awful set pieces. Why not let Cleverley take some?
-
Good defending there.
-
The football really is poor.
-
Any points gained in theses games is an unexpected bonus. The test for us is how we perform against the mid table teams.
-
Can't help thinking we look unbothered about losing this. Management and players.
-
Zog and Bent on.
-
I still think Lambert is fucking shit. He is so negative, as soon as we go behind there is no way back
-
I appreciate Andi works his bollocks off but he's so poor when we're on the attack. He's no a left midfielder by any stretch of the imagination. I'd honestly sacrifice a bit of that work for some balance on the left and potential threat in Zogbia.
We need to make 1-2 changes now that's for sure. There's no point showing zero attacking intent and quality. We don't have to be gung ho, but we might as well sacrifice Andi and/or Richardson for a bit more quality.
-
Steve Claridge - "Darren Bent has got quite big hasn't he"
-

Ha ha. Cheers Paul.
-
Steve Claridge - "Darren Bent has got quite big hasn't he"
he's a total cock but correct
-
Steve Claridge - "Darren Bent has got quite big hasn't he"
When fatty boom boom Claridge says that, you know it's time to hit the gym.
Benty is looking quite Holt-esque it must be said.
-
Think we've done well really. Just outclassed.
We are still in a great position with key players to come back.
-
Can't see the substitutions having much effect if we are sticking to the same formation.
-
You can criticise Lambert all you like, but when your players can't miss the first fucking man with a single set piece all afternoon, there's not much you can do.
-
I thought Cleverley was supposed to take a decent free kick. He keeps hitting the first defender.
-
Winless with 1 point and bottom of the league Fulham winning at sha *snigger*
-
Would rather have seen Grealish on than N'zog tbh
-
Would rather have seen Grealish on than N'zog tbh
Zogbia's looking a bit big and definitely not as fleet of foot as he used to be. Much like Mr Bent.
-
*sigh*
-
I think we need to set aside one week, quite soon, where we dedicate all our training on how to take a fucking throw-in. I think we may just be the worst side in the world, including all ages, levels and sex, at taking throw-ins.
-
Shit.
Blow the whistle you twat, Dowd.
-
Shit 3 now. Chavski cruising now. Will have to pause & fast forward Mourinho on MOTD tonight
-
No creativity is our major downfall, even if we got a goal back i'd have hope but we haven't got that sort of players so they'll just keep adding to their tally
*As i write this 3-0
-
Damage limitation time.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
-
They take off Costa and bring on Remy. How the fuck can most of the league compete with that kind of squad. Bastard jammy chav lottery winners.
-
Would rather have seen Grealish on than N'zog tbh
I'd rather not have N'Zogbia on the pitch and play with 10 men. What a waste of space the man is.
-
So is this the game plan for all season then.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
-
Leagues apart. Chelsea haven't even come close to hitting high gear. Sadly just another of those games. I'd take there entire 11 over ours, and some on the bench. Worlds apart.
-
I still have some hope for N'Zogbia, Not much - about 3% hope he might do something for us. A bit pointless putting him on today mind.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
Fuck me. Joy at seeing us concede goals. There's a true fan for you Mr Shin.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score
-
Let's be honest, this is one of those games you approach more out of hope than expectation.
-
The longer N'Zogbia was out the more brilliant a player he became. Now we're seeing what he was like all along
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score
Off course it does. What a ludicrous statement.
-
I'm struggling to see the point of Bent these days. Has he even touched the ball yet? I'd have given Jack a run out, if nothing more than to get him some game time against this quality of players.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score
Fuck it, I hope you win your bet too. A Villa fan deserves something from this
-
It's sad to criticise my own team, but we're so boring, no spark, incredibly frustrating, how has that muppet got a four year contract. We've had a decent start to the season, and it's never pleasant losing to these horrid bastards, but once again Lambert's horrid tactics are awful to watch...awful
-
Have we got the ball to Bent yet?
-
You can criticise Lambert all you like, but when your players can't miss the first fucking man with a single set piece all afternoon, there's not much you can do.
When they are the players you have signed and trained 4-5 times a week that cant take a fucking set piece then you need to take responsibility. So thanks, I will criticise Lambert as much as I like. He is shit, I have said so for three seasons.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score
Yes it does. Then again, i've never bet on us to lose, never mind lose 4-0.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score
I'm surprised you could get decent odds on 4-0. I'd imagine you only got evens.
-
This virus is a sod isn't it.
-
Let's be honest, this is one of those games you approach more out of hope than expectation.
Unfortunately so. Without trying to sound like a whiny teenager, it's just no fair. It's miles off being a level playing field. Trouble is too, having beat them last season, it was always going to make all the harder because Mourinho would have been champing at the bit to undo that result. As it is, they've not even had to break sweat.
-
Darren Bent is finished at this level I'm afraid. Sad to see.
-
One more and i've won my bet...fuck it now i want them to score
Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score
Yes it does. Then again, i've never bet on us to lose, never mind lose 4-0.
You probably put money on us to win which was pretty foolish.
-
Not as foolish as that quote fail. Even though I didn't bet on the game.
-
We're cruising it now.
-

This. Days like today are frustrating but they don't really hurt anymore because its not unexpected.
-
I want to see us busting a gut to win a game. It all looks too apathetic.
-
Being 1 down, 2 down and then 3 down I never see us go "sod it, lets give this a go".
-
Not as foolish as that quote fail. Even though I didn't bet on the game.
It wasn't a fail my niece was jumping all over me, I clicked it by mistake
-
The longer N'Zogbia was out the more brilliant a player he became. Now we're seeing what he was like all along
Indeed. There was a lot of nonsense written on here about him over the summer. He really is a waste of space.
-

Chelsea 8 -0 Villa.

Did she type it in the wrong place as well?
-
Being 1 down, 2 down and then 3 down I never see us go "sod it, lets give this a go".
Chelsea 8 -0 Villa.
You can't say we even looked like attacking in that match. We sat back and look what happened.
-
Got to be happy that 3 games into a run of 5 hard games a second consecutive defeat has seen us slip from 3rd to 5th or 6th with 10 points on the board. We look much improved over last year. What's all the griping about?
Replace Bent and N'Zogbia in january for some younger slimmer more interested talent and we might be handy...
-
Being 1 down, 2 down and then 3 down I never see us go "sod it, lets give this a go".
Chelsea 8 -0 Villa.
You can't say we even looked like attacking in that match. We sat back and look what happened.
We kept pouring forward (quite ineffectively), but it was the huge amount of space that we left behind us that resulted in that scoreline.
-

Oh dear.
4-0 doesn't look any worse than the current score

12-1 online
-
Right thats enough of my time wasted today
-
Niece again? *winky*
-
Niece again? *winky*
Yep *winky*
