1-1. Assuming we have 11 fit players.

I fancy a draw too. A real bore of a game, which would suit me just fine.

If we win by 5 goals we go above them. Too early in the season to say title 6 pointer?

A table topping clash of the giants. 1-2. With Costa feeling quite poorly after being tackled by Hutton.

It's yet another must win game, lose and we can forget about the title and prepare ourselves for a battle against relegation. Win and we can forget about the title and prepare ourselves for a battle against relegation and if we manage a draw we can forget about the title etc.

Think we'll get battered. Thought the best way to get a result leading up to this was to wind Costa up enough to get himself sent off, but so far he hasn't looked too bothered with such shenanigans.

I suppose they have looked a bit vulnerable defensively so far though, so things could get crazy.

If they play Costa up front they'll win. If he's out, we'll take a point I reckon.

Not that I'm still bitter or anything.

I hope Vlaar will be fit. If not it should be remembered that Okore created a big impression against Chelsea a few years ago and might do so again.

John Terry does not like Gabbys pace. If Gabby gets his finger out we may get an unexpected 2-2 draw.....but I expect that Chelsea will win

I dont expect to see Sanchez in the line up but do expect Benteke to be on the bench for a 20min run out.

Chelsea possess the three things I despise most in football - Terry, Moanhino, and their chavvy classless fans (although there should really be a place for Pardew in my top three). Think we'd give them a run for their Roubles if we had a full strength side, but with the virus still taking its toll and key players out I can't see anything but a win for them. 3-1

definitely need someone to man mark Fabregas, maybe Delph in a new role to try and be disciplined.

Sanchez was miles off the pace last week, would like to see him taken out of the firing line. Dont see the point of leaving Okore out over Baker and Clark. If he is fit then he needs gametime.

Whatever side Lambert picks it looks a big ask for us to get anything from the game. Chelsea have too many aces for us to handle at the moment.

4-1 to the blues

Stamford Bridge is a ground of extremes for us, we either put in a great performance and get a result (should've last season but for a ridiculous ref) or we get battered.

To be honest if we're going to have to go into another game with half the squad convalescing I don't mind it being this one as I'd rather that than do so against a team we'd expect to beat and fall flat against

Yep, if we have to have a virus in the club its s good week to have one. let it be against these, a game we should lose as will most there. You never know of course, I expect a clear defeat, but a draw would be great.

Also, if we were to spread the virus to the Chelsea squad I wouldn't be totally against it. We should get some of our sickest squad members to lick the surfaces in the tunnel area and if possible the home dressing room. I mean really go to town on it.

Terry scoring all 6 goals and will probably celebrate all of them pointing to sky in tribute to Lampard.  Then he misses the sudden death penalty.

Moanrinho must be ready to explode, after the spat with Pelegrini last weekend.

Hopefully we can contribute to a complete meltdown for the arrogant tosser.  Oh the irony of him and the classless wankers complaining that Man City should be stripped of their titles because of FFP.  He's losing his touch.  The only other comeback he could come with after Peligrini had compared them to "a small club like Stoke that comes to park the bus" was to call him Peligrino.

Them 0 us at least 50.  All dodgy penalties. Moanrinho to eat his own head in frustration.

In fairness, I think they do have 1 redeeming feature.
About the only thing the rest of the football fraternity can agree on is that they are one of the most loathsome clubs to ever exist in any sport, anywhere.

Anything that can unite football fans to such a degree must be worth something?

Joe Cole is relishing coming up against former club Chelsea on Saturday - as he eyes a top result for his new team.

The Villa midfielder spent seven years in West London until 2010, winning eight major domestic trophies in the process and over 50 England caps.

No stranger to the big occasion, Cole returns to Stamford Bridge in opposition colours this weekend and will be reunited with former manager Jose Mourinho.

However, the Londoner remains unfazed and is determined to help Villa bounce back from their home defeat against Arsenal.

He said: "Once you're on the pitch, you're focused on your job.

"That's the great thing about being involved in football - there's no time to think about anything but what you're doing out there.

"You get completely involved in the game. It's a time when you're free from everything - you're free when you play football.

"I spent the majority of my career at Chelsea. The people there were great and the fans were great with me too.

"But you just have to focus on trying to get the right result.

"It was the same with Frank Lampard. He was there much longer than me and he came on against them for Man City and scored.

"You do your job and hopefully, if I'm involved in the game this weekend, I can make an impact like that and we can go from there and get a good result."

Since arriving this summer, Cole has worked under Paul Lambert and his assistant Roy Keane - both influential midfielders - on a daily basis.

The 32-year-old has nothing but admiration for the duo and believes their knowledge and wisdom is beneficial to the whole squad.

He added: "Roy Keane was a very tough player to play against. I played against him at West Ham as a young man and then at Chelsea when I was a bit older.

"He was a top player, one of the top midfielders of his generation and his knowledge is great for the younger lads, young midfielders and myself looking to earn a place in the midfield.

"I've got the gaffer who has played at the top level to learn from as well.

"For all of us midfielders, we can definitely all learn from them and their experiences."

those prices seem about right I reckon especially with us missing Vlaar and Benteke

Chelsea will be that price to beat any of the bottom half sides this season

Gabby did well against Ivanovic on our left last season. Maybe try that with Weimann down the middle and Bacuna maybe on the right.

Yes Doc, but we all know that Southampton's position is a completely false one and they will be lucky to finish 20th.
Whereas WE are on our way to taking over the World! And good old Jose knows it too!

Paul Lambert is keen for Villa to adopt a pragmatic approach against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Lambert believes his side were too cavalier in the 3-0 loss to Arsenal in B6.

Now he wants the claret and blues to be sensible and prudent when they face the league leaders.

He said: "We were too open against Arsenal.

"We have had a chat with the lads this week. We have given them our thoughts and they agreed that they were too eager.

"Sometimes that happens when you're playing well - you think you can go out there and take anybody on.

"Now you pick yourself up and start again.

"You've got to try and get a foothold in the game and not be out of it before you've started. If we can do that, then great.

"I'm not going to sit here and say we're going to go there and play free-flowing attacking football. You do that and I think you'll get beaten pretty heavily.

"But we'll try and do what we did in the four games before the Arsenal match and we'll try and get a result.

"What you try and do is get a foothold in the game, like we did at Anfield against Liverpool.

"Up there, you know they will come at you but you get a foothold in the game, get a goal and that gives you something to hold on to.

"We played good counter-attacking football. We have the players that can do that.

"We will get chances hopefully on Saturday and when we do, we have to take them."

Lambert was upbeat after watching his squad train following the elimination of a sickness bug that hampered the Gunners preparations.

He was also effervescent because of where his team are in the table - and the progress they have made so far this term.

Despite the weekend defeat, Lambert says Villa are in a strong position heading into tough encounters with Chelsea and Man City.

He continued: "If somebody had said 'I'll give you a point from Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea' I'd have taken that.

"We took three points from Liverpool so it breaks the ice.

"The result at Anfield gives you a free reign really, that's what people have got to remember.

"We'll go there with nothing to lose. Nobody expects anything from us going there but if we get chances hopefully we can take them."

Lambert is a firm admirer of Chelsea but he believes his side can cause an upset this weekend.

Asked whether the Stamford Bridge encounter is viewed as the toughest of the season, he added: "It's certainly up there, that's for sure.

"We are up against probably one of the best teams in Europe.

"That game - Chelsea at Man City - was fantastic. They were two really strong sides.

"I think they'll be round about it in the Champions League again, I think they'll go far in it. And I think they'll go far in winning this Barclays Premier League.

"They're a good side with good players and they are strong and powerful. You can pick three or four teams with the players they have.

"Last year we gave a good account of ourselves and nearly got something from it.

"We're in a run of games at the minute which is really tough for us because you're playing the big teams that expect to be there or thereabouts in the Barclays Premier League and even in Europe.

"It's tough but we've made a great start and we won't curtail what we're doing. We'll go to try and win."

As long as we're not out of it 20 minutes in then we can be positive. 0-0 at half-time would be great. 0-0 at 70 mins and I'll be shi*8ing it. Anyway 4-0 them.

I am and have.

I don't why so many think we are going to get battered there. There's no guarantee of that and last week for me does not reflect at all how well we have played defensively. I might be being overly optimistic about winning, but they can be beaten, and they do slip up. We should have done them last season, and we did at home. We can get something from this game.

Look at their starting 11 then look who occupy the bench seats, on paper they look like frightening- champions elect without a doubt.
We've however rattled Mourinho before, dig in and defend well and we can do it again.. The first 20mins are critical concede and we're fucked!!!

Edit: My mistake - it is the featured match that is being shown in movie theatres across the USA this week. (http://www.fathomevents.com/event/barclays-premier-league-1415)

It'll still be loaded with tenuous ManUre references.

According to my scientifically accurate Fifa-15-predictometer, we're going to win this 12-0. Granted it was my first match on the game and I forgot to change the difficulty setting.
I probably wouldn't go rushing down to Ladbrokes and slapping money on that result though. Maybe a cheeky quid.
