25 men (http://www.avfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10265~4121148,00.html)
Villa have submitted their squad for the 2014-15 campaign, following the closure of the transfer window.
The 25-man senior list is not definitive in terms of those available for selection as players can also be nominated from the U21 roster.
This includes, for instance, Jack Grealish and Callum Robinson.
The U21 players must have been born on or after January 1, 1993.
Additional changes to the senior squad can only be made during transfer window periods but loans will be permitted to lower division clubs.
The requirement is for no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the homegrown player criteria.
A homegrown player is deemed to be somebody who has been registered with any club affiliated to the English or Welsh FA for a period, continuous or not, of three entire seasons or 36 months before his 21st birthday - or the end of the season during which he turns 21.

Bugger, they've left me out of the squad again.
This is what happens with Lambert in charge. Former manager Ad would not have left me out.

Anyone know Cleverleys squad number?
-
Regarding Alan Hutton, do Scottish players not count as homegrown? Thought any club in Britain counted as homegrown..
-
Anyone know Cleverleys squad number?
How about 62, since he was so keen to drive along it from Manchester to Everton.
-
That's a Champions League qualifying squad if I've ever seen one.

Wanted to get a shirt with " NOT SO.." with his number

Just England and Wales.

A few rookies in the roster as well.....

TC23 surely?

So Siegrist is in rather than Stevens, I think Enda's contract is up in January anyway, perhaps he will be release early or loaned out
-
Why, when we have submitted a full squad of 25 that cannot now be changed until January, are stupid websites still linking us to free agents?!

The window for league clubs to take players in on loan opens in the next few days. It might be that he's going somewhere.

Not that i think either will happen, but if bent got loaned out to Charlton till Jan, then I'm presuming that makes it possible to fill with a free agent? I have no idea mind.

Shay and Joe Cole are 'home grown'.
And I am.
So is Messi, vacuuming up the players lounge.
I have read the definition, but, really? Surely home grown for the Villa is born within shouting distance of the Holte End?
Yours
A traditionalist
PS not that I will complain if they exceed their parameters.

Home grown doesn't have to be with the club. It's just to stop sides from signing a squad of 25 players from outside England and Wales. So Citeh have a homegrown player in Lampard as an example.

How is football allowed to get away from such restrictions on free movement of labour ?

Aly Cissokho might have something to say about that.
I would think he'll be our new No.8.
-
Hopefully he lives up to the last legend who wore the eight.
-
Senderos home grown, is that right? If you're in the CL you need to have 4 who had 3 years at the club before they were 21 so I think we're covered there for next season as well.
EDIT: I just checked and he was at Arsenal as a teenager. He's younger than I thought.
-
Senderos home grown, is that right?
Yup, needs to have been on the books of a PL club for three years between ages 16 and 21.
Joined Arsenal a few months before his 18th birthday.

Merv 'The Swerve' Davies ?

So I suppose he was still very young when he was at Arsenal and got his reputation in this country for being a bit dodgy.

Gary Shaw?

Gary's hero. The one who wore a magic hat.
