No surprise but here are the details. This is really going to help the attendance!
Our home match with Hull City A.F.C. has been switched from Saturday August 30, kick-off 3pm to Sunday August 31, kick-off 1.30pm.
This is due to Hull’s involvement in the Europa League on the preceding Thursday.

A Villa game moved due to Hull's involvement in Europe.
There's something we'd have never believed a few years ago.
-
Fuck sake, just booked the train tickets from London the other day and can't do Sunday.

I booked tickets for this one as I had the Saturday off work......now I've gotta try and get someone to swap shifts. Brilliant!!
-
Great, just great...I go on holiday that Sunday morning...had arranged to leave work early on the Sat to watch the game..why did I renew..???
-
Bugger. Booked three tickets last night and can't do the Sunday. Will call see where I stand with regards returning them?
-
Booooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freddy was so looking forward to his first game aswell.
-
Trainline don't give refunds on Advance tickets either...shit start to the weekend.
I hadn't even considered Hulll and their European adventure mucking this one up.
Anyone know how good Villa are with giving refunds for matchday tickets?
-
Publishing the fixtures mid June is a pisstake . May aswell publish after all the fucking about.
-
For all of those upset then I feel your pain. Talk to Amfy who can make your arguments via the Trust.
So our first, Saturday, home, 3pm kick off, is....

For home match Villa are ace providing returns are requested 24 hours before kick off.

Yes astonishing but they qualified by reaching the cup final so no great shame. Anyway we will drill them a new one post their return from wherever the Thursday night game is.
-
Hate Sunday games with a passion, and can't make it now anyway. Transport's always a lot more of a ballache than usual and the atmosphere usually feels much tamer.
-
I can put up with my team being shit and providing poor value for season ticket money year after year, but this moving of fixtures (particularly at such short notice) makes my blood boil.
I don't know whether to swear or punch something.
Ouch.
-
FFS bought a ticket 2 days ago, when a warning message could have been given by the club. Silly me, for not analysing bloody Hull City's European fixture potential.
-
The first game I was planning on going to post-ST as it was a Saturday 3pm. Won't be going now.
-
In all fairness, it has been well established for some time that had Hull progressed, that this game would be moved 100%.
-
Oh wow. Villa playing at home on my son's 5th birthday. Someone is smiling on me!
Of course we'll lose but he has to learn the disappointment first before he gets the highs second. I so much preferred it when I was 7 and 8 and starting to take a proper interest and my Villa team were that Gidman, little, gray team that became 1981 and 82. I thought it would always be that. We got to a final and we usually won it. Oh for him to get even a sense of what that felt like.
Sorry for those that don't like the change though...
-
Expect many more of these thoughout the season. At least like the game last season we can play we are catching them at a good time. They are not great travelers either.
-
What an absolute crock of shit.
-
Hopefully, Hull have a vile journey back from their midweek game, have injuries and need to rest players! Villa to win!!
-
Why are people acting so surprised about this fixture being moved ?
It was clear some time ago (and I'm pretty sure it was discussed on here) that Hull's progression in Europe would lead to a change.
-
I don't know how many changes Bruce plans to make but hopefully a few of them will be tired after playing in Europe. I doubt the journey will take too much out of them though as they are only going to Belgium.
-
Belgium? Is that it? Didn't know that. Perhaps potato head will make them jog back?

Good point. Not only are they only travelling as far as Belgium, they are actually at home for the leg before they play us!
-
It's annoying. I'd resigned myself to the game being moved but consoled myself with the fact that they might have an horrendous trip before our game to boost our chances. Sod's Law would have to dictate that they're at home before they play us.
Oh well, at least they play someone from a decent league so hopefully the tie will still be in the balance so they can't rest players. Fingers crossed for extra time and an agonising defeat on penalties.
-
Another good point. I hadn't considered the possibility of extra time and even penalties.
-
So we will kick off a home fixture at three on a Saturday just once in the first four months of the season. That is taking the piss.

One of the reasons I didn't purchase a season ticket. It's really annoying.

Same here. I'm fed up of fixtures being moved.

It isn't as though we have the consolation of putting it down to being the price of success.

Really helped me out, cheers Hull! :)

It's getting ridiculous now - 7 (Newcastle, Hull, Liverpool, Manc, QPR, Spuds and So'ton) of our first 12 games have been moved. That's what the new television deal means - the armchair fans are more important than us mugs who go to the games.
-
Good for you guys who are trying to send a message by not going. Its the only way things will ever change.
-
Why will it change? We have long since been important only because we add atmosphere for the watching voyeurs at home.
-
I think this gives us more chance of winning the game at least.
-
Was thinking of going if on the Saturday! Forget it now!

Ironically that is Arsenal which is a game that is pretty much always on tv.

This is where viagogo comes in handy .

And is the only Saturday 3pm I can't make. Ain't life grand?

I genuinely think that one of the factors in so many of our games being moved is that we're expected to have a horror season. This game may have actual reasons for being moved, but I think broadcasters see the club in such disarray that they're hoping we'll fall apart live on television. The vultures are circling.

and just imagine if we made it ourselves into the Europa. It will only get worse.
-
We think we've got it bad...
The early morning 28/3/15 flight Southampton-Newcastle has almost filled up with Eastleigh fans going to Gateshead.
Let's hope the fixture doesn't get moved....
The fixture hasn't been moved (yet).
But ******* Flybe have changed the return flight time from 8pm to 3pm!
For a flight that leaves in 7 months time!
Uproar on the Eastleigh website - they should get their money back, but....
-
Annoying, I'll have to miss this game now.
It could have been the away league they played in Europe before, so at least they'd be knackered against us!
-
I was under the impression that the date couldn't be changed once tickets had gone on sale or is that just away tickets?
-
Got my 4 tickets. nice.

Exactly that, gone are the days when I actually had a fair idea of when the Villa were playing!
-
Just bought a stupidly cheap ticket for the Lower Holte for Newcastle. Could get Upper Trinity for the same price for Hull but just hate the KO time.
-
Why will it change? We have long since been important only because we add atmosphere for the watching voyeurs at home.
Not saying it will change, just saying that the only way it is ever likely to change is by people voting with their chequebooks (and yes I know hardly anyone uses those nowadays!). I'm not a fan of people giving up just because it seems an up hill task, as some have already said its the principle of the matter.
-
No matter how many turn up, UEFA won't move the Europa League away from stupid Thursday nights which is the problem in this case.
-
Got my 4 tickets. nice.
PM me with seat details, please. I'll see if I can rearrange things and bring Freddy to the game.
-
The first time I attempted to travel to a match with Legion it was called off on the day because of the weather. Just saying like.

.... torrential downpours on the M6 on Saturday are a certainty then
