At one of the most picturesque grounds in the county tomorrow afternoon. £5 entry, U-14s free. 10 miles SW of Shrewsbury. I shall be taking my Boy.
If you're reading this DrGonzo, do you fancy it? Want a lift? I have space in the car!

Sounds corking Rodders. PM'd you me number in case you still fancy standing in horizontal rain on top of a huge feck off hill!! If anyone is at a loose end tomorrow get on it!
-
Received! Call you in a bit - toad in the hole on the point of de-ovening.
Apparently there will be a barbeque and The Stiperstones Inn is but a short distance, so anybody wishing to enjoy a Half Man Half Biscuit moment whilst watching the Villa shouldn't miss out!
-
I believe that DrGonzo will be along with a match report and some photos of Gareth Farrelly's legs later.
-
Met Julian Joachim, Mark Kinsella, neil Rioch and Gareth Farrelly, nice chaps all. Joined them for a crafty fag at half time while the Boy got autographs...
The best I've ever felt leaving a Villa match: 10-4. Be nice to experience *that* at Villa Park one day...
The Dr & I were agreed that we saw more teamwork, commitment, skill and true old-fashioned sportsmanship from the Old Stars on a village pitch today than we've seen fom the "pros" at VP for too long...
Their pride in wearing the colours shone through.
A few even grinned and gave a thumbs up as I did solo renditions of Holte Enders In The Sky/Let's All Have A Disco/Villa Villa Villa Villa/etc from the touchline
Met a few heroes today, gentlemen all.

What's the name of the light ale they sell at the Stiperstones Inn?
-
We didn't stop at the SI in the end, dcdave. It used to be my local, but I haven't been in in a year or two.
If it's light, golden and feels like you're drinking angel's hair it's probably a Three Tuns ale - XXX or Rantipole most likely.
-
Had some of that Rantipole in The White Horse yesterday. Now I know how to describe it I'm off to OT 'What's the latest ale you've had?'
-
The relatively weak Rantipole is described over the bar at The Tuns as "Boy's Beer"...
The Christmas XXXXXXX at 8-odd% is the one :)
-
I enjoy a pint of Rantipole, though. Fabulous stuff.
-
Sorry fell into the normal journalistic mistake of being suckered into the pub post match yesterday.... CURSE YOU BUTTY BACH!!
-
I'd expect no more and brook no less.
