Sunday 11th May 2014 3pm KO
Purple dot has followed the Orange dot into the bin.
Shock 0-0 if we're lucky.
Guzan
Bertrand
Vlaar
Clark
Baker
Bacuna
KEA
Westwood
Delph
Weimann
Gabby (or Bowery if not fit)
-
We'll be lucky to get 0!
-
Another humping on the telly. Luckily just about everyone will be watching one of the other televised games.
-
We are dotless. How did it ever come to this.
Spurs 0 Villa 3 (Orange dot (2), purple dot)
-
I'm currently seeking a more successful alternative.
-
The Lerner and Lambert comedy duo to go out with a bang. 4-0 Tottenham.
Here's to the statement and them fucking off. :D

Loving the new psychedelic dot Lee

We will slump to another heavy defeat.
-
4-0 spuds

Think this is my 500th post and if so a proud moment, wont be long till I am closing in on the big prolific posters like Legion, Pauliewalnuts and Chris Smith, back to the thread, the Spurs game will be my eldest sons first ever away game so please make him happy Villa.
-
them, lots. Us, nixey noodle.
Randy to announce Villa Park to be transformed into Birminghams largest LGBT nightclub
-
It hurts seeing us looking so poor in quality and having to resort to making our players all defenders against a team with quality, this is the worst team i have seen in my 24 years as a Villan, and i can't see us doing anything different at Spurs either, it's disgraceful for our club to be playing like a lower league side travelling to a team in a higher division, ok enough moaning 3-0 Spurs as i shake my head.
-
Neither side has particularly any reason to win the game so I can see it being a draw with a few goals.
2-2, Weimann and Bacuna for us - couldn't care less who for them.

As for the score who knows so for that reason i'll go with.....
3-3
-
Ever the optimist. 1-0 to finish our poor season off on a misery 41 points
-
We'll get pasted. Tottenham are Jekyll and Hyde. Poor last time out, so will probably be better this time and they're playing a very poor Villa side too.
3-0
-
3-1 spuds, boo
-
As its the last game of the season, and quite possibly Lambert's last game,I suggest we will go on all out attack from the first minute. Hopefully he will play Robinson, Grealish and Albrighton as the front three and....
No. He will play for a no goal draw and describe our performance as 'great...really great'.... just after we have lost 3-0
-
3-2 defeat.
16th place finish.
-
The game is on Sunday I thought
-
The game is on Sunday I thought
It is. Got the date right and the day wrong. Cheers.
-
3-1 defeat.
Only thing I'm looking forward to is possibly seeing Grealish and Robinson get a chance, regardless of the result. Weimann, Holt and Gabby it is then.
-
Spurs 3-4 Villa
Dean Saunders with a last min winner
-
Tottingham 2-5 Villa
-
with Sherwood forest, being as deep as a puddle on a Thursday afternoon in Erdington, any team would have a chance, BUT (learnt dat from mickey Quinn, don't you know) the "but" dat is!
we are shocking, and my mate paul l will set us up the same as against citeh, defend, defend, defend. and of course the enevitable will happen, once you score one you'll get more, spuds that is.
3 - nil
the nil im quite confident with.
-
They'll bring the curtain down on Lambo's Lions with a good fashioned cockney spanking, and as the players leave the pitch will blare out from the annoy 'Gercha cowson'....
-
We'll lose because we're not very good.
-
We will win. It's been that kind of season.
-
Is this really on telly? Why?
-
Is this really on telly? Why?
For shits and giggles.
Sky Sports (http://www1.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky) are showing 3 games simultaneously.
-
Just hope we set up to go for a win.
As opposed to last night when we set up to keep the score down to single figures and inevitably shipped a shedload. Fu**ing disgrace to the club, the players and the fans.
We've got nothing to play for except prize money and pride.
I prefer the latter on Sunday please Mr Lambert.
-
My unfortunate and current attitude is what does it matter? We've won our cup final of staying up. I've seen the worst football in the last 3 years I've ever seen in 20 and I'm numb. If we turn spuds over 5-0 are we great - if we lose 5-0 are we shit? I'd argue if we won 100-0 we're shit - just look at the league for the last 3 years. D as my old teachers used to say.
-
4-3
lamberts still manager 4-0
-
Is this really on telly? Why?
Because when the decision was made re which games to show, they clearly thought they might catch a car crash unfolding as we decided our relegation fate.
-
I can't remember the last time I gave so little a shit about a Villa game as I do about this one.

I do, Wednesday night.
-
I have an irrational belief we will cruise this one an easy 0-2.
No facts or form to back that up, just a firm belief.

Can you paint this onto a bed sheet for Sunday? We could watch it instead of the game...
-
and we don't go again.
I'm going to the norfolk coast this weekend so will probably be eating seafood with londoners whilst the match is on.
Good luck and see you next season boys
-
We can get 12th with a win. Spurs have sealed sixth place barring a mathematical miracle.
A nice win to round off the season. 2-0 Villa.

If Spurs lose and Man U win then Man U overtake them. Man U's is the vastly superior goal difference. Do they want the Europa league anyway?
-
We'll win this one. Spurs are not really that much cop, the shackles will come off (I know they didn't on Wednesday but they will this time) and it would be typical Villa to "bookend" a largely toss season with good away wins in North London to open and close.
3-2 Villa, Weimann x2, Bowery's first/only goal for Villa.
-
I am actually looking forward to this one. I always love the last away games, mainly because its almost irrelvant what happens on the pitch, the atmosphere will be great anyway.
-
Easy win for Villa.
0-4
-
Training exercise for both teams, their fans singing that dirge even slower than normal, and our season petering out with the sonic resonance of a silent fart. 2-1 to them
-
Spuds 4.1 Villa
Tony Galvin, Glen Hoddle (pen), Archibald 2
McMahon for us
Ironic that Dim Sherwood will be out of a job come middle of May whereas Lambert may well not be.
-
I predicted 0-4 for Wednesday and I'm going the same again.
-
8-6 as both teams decide to play with a "rush goalie"!
-
Spurs 1 G.Hoddle - Villa 4..G.Shelton, B.Little, A.Evans and J.Gregory
a special score for a Spurs special day !! :)
seriously, 2-2 draw......although I'm not sure where our goals are coming from..
-
Battered again - sadly.

8-6 as both teams decide to play with a "rush goalie"!
Yep, Geddy Lee is really too small to play in goal.
-
Amazed to see we could still conceivably finish 12th. What a crap league this has been this year.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee
How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy
I know him, and he does
And you're my fact checking cuz

This game could go either way. Spurs are hardly predictable themselves and they have a complete charlatan in charge. I have no idea how this could end up.

I can't claim credit for that one. I am prepared to be appropriately magnaminous as someone with a quicker wit than I on this site used the term prior to me.

Spurs 1 Villa 4
(Allan Evans, John Gregory, Brian Little and Gary Shelton)
-
Villa to win 9-7 after playing a 2-2-6 formation.
-
Before the Man City match, I thought "finally, a Villa match I can watch and not give a shit about the result, no need to get annoyed by whatever happens".
But then I still got annoyed.

Same. When Delph got booked for that perfectly decent challenge against City, my language was terrible. Even said after, why do I get so worked up about it still....?
-
A miserable, can't be arsed 3-0 win to Spurts.
-
Spurs 0 Villa 2 Ormondroyd. Platt
-
Spurs 0 Villa 2 Ormondroyd. Platt
With a load of us stood on the Shelf, Spurs fans around us talking about how good we were.
-
A strange end-of-season game. 2-2.
Hope he starts Robinson and Grealish. Why not.
-
Spurs 0 Villa 2 Ormondroyd. Platt
With a load of us stood on the Shelf, Spurs fans around us talking about how good we were.
When Ormondroyd put that in I swear there was a moments silence before it went utterly mental behind the goal, Ormo looked as shocked as the rest of us. What a night.
-
Hope he starts Robinson and Grealish. Why not.
Me too, absolutely nothing to lose, and it'd raise the entertainment levels, something he's failed to do for most of the last nine months.

I'd give a couple of the other fringe/yoofs a go to. Give em a chance to play against a big club, see how they cope. And also in some cases, possibly a last chance for some of Lambo's signings to try and have an impact. Tonev, Helenius perhaps. If Gardner was fit I'd give him a go too. If not, Johnson.
There's no point bringing a half fit Gabby back, or Albrighton, who hopefully has already done enough to earn a new deal.
I'd also put Steer in to see how he does.
-
Them 0 - 6 Us
The Spurs players are down sick with lasagne they have to play their caterers. And pizza delivery boys.
-
So we can finish 12th or 17th, is that about a £6m swing in prize money? I don't think Lambert will be throwing caution to the wind if so. Them to win 2-0 with a team who don't even want to play for their manager judging by Sherwood's press conference yesterday.
-
I am looking forward to the last time I can swear really loudly in public and not attract funny looks.
Shouting "you useless ******!" In the meat and poultry isle at Teaco's just doesn't go down too well.
-
3-0 loss
-
Wondering if he will give the World Cup bound players , Guzan & Vlaar , a break to avoid the un-necessary possibility of them being injured (?) ..............Godzvilla !
-
Id love to see Grealish get a start along with Callum.
Unfortunately I can see the uninspiring one picking a predictable side, same as man city.

I'd play young Jack from the start.
It's a 3pm Sunday kick off, so he should have his school homework done by then and unlike Weds night he wont need a note from his mom saying he can stay out late.

But entireley appropriate in view of the fact that the Halal donkey vou`ve just bought was actually labelled as finest english something-or-other.

It did make me laugh the other day. I was talking to a mate of mine who supports QPR. He'd watched our game on sky and asked me "Who was that 12 year old lad with no shin pads who came on near the end? He looked like a ballboy that had got on the pitch."
-
Spuds 4 Villa 1 It's what Lambert does best !!
-
11 players back behind the ball, they'll score once, we'll have no comeback and we will fall apart. 3-0 defeat at least.
-
Wondering if he will give the World Cup bound players , Guzan & Vlaar , a break to avoid the un-necessary possibility of them being injured (?) ..............Godzvilla !
Brad's basically off on a free holiday to Brazil for a month. Its not like he'll be playing.
-
Just watched the video, still such a shame we didn't edge it in 89/90.

I think you will find it's labelled Finest Scotch Beef.
-
Nice review of 89/90. Judging from the VP clips most of our goals were in front of the away fans in the North Stand. Was hoping to see the Holte in rhapsody a bit more. Anyone got the breakdown of what percentage we got at the 'right' end?
-
I'm hoping this is the last game of our 4 year slump, fingers crossed.
-
Christ that 89/90 season review brings back some memories.
The video got me wondering whatever happened to Elton Welsby. Check out his Wikipedia page. Partridge-esque in places.

Still painful after nearly 25 years!! Considering we had Cowans, McGrath and Platt pretty much near their peak, a top striker might have been the difference.
As for the present, it would be nice to think we will at least show some attacking intent. Would like to see a bit more of Grealish and Robinson.
-
Gotta sign off with style go out with 5 at the back, huff and puff till about 40 mins then let one in, look around at manager and coaching staff then at each other, and decide lets defend for another 60mins and lose 4-0, well that's the Villa style now isn't it.
-
I'm sure we've got one last embarrassment left in us this season and as it's on Sky I'm sure we'll oblige. 4-0 Spurs.
-
I cant help but think if we have a go at them we may have a chance. Wet Spam beat them easily, Spurs don't seem too interested. Why cant we have a go at them, Lambert?
-
Any pubs guaranteed to show the game, I could drive 40 miles to my sister and fellow S/T house but I'm skint Measham where I live is no man's land but they'll have the Mancs or shoulders on?
-
Sorry bloody predictive text! Should read Scousers not shoulders!
-

I think they need a point to qualify for the Europa Cup so they may put some effort in. As Albrighton is probably out our lot will not show much attacking intent and probably lose 2-0.
But who cares.? Tomorrow is all that matters for Aston Villa. Or maybe even tonight!

This the last game of the Post MON era. Take a good look at it and remember what it was like.

No ,still debating whether to blow £15 in fuel and drive to Redditch !
-
I cannot stand Tottenham. Wankers, to a man.
-
Sorry bloody predictive text! Should read Scousers not shoulders!
So does that mean Shoulders have a chip on their Scousers ?
-
The key thing is that both Hull and WBA drop points below us so we can finish as high as possible. I don't hold much hope we'll win today but i'd like to think the teams below us will only draw or lose so we finish as high as possible. Win and we'd be above West Ham whom you'd imagine would lose today.
-
I'd like to see us go with Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bertrand, Delph, Westwood, Bacuna, Agbonlahor, Weimann and try to give it a real go but it will no doubt be 5 at the back with 3 defensive midfielders and try to play on the break... again
We'll get dicked 0-3
-

Even Lambert would pick eleven players surely?! Maybe this is why we end up with five at the back, he gets to this point and thinks 'sod it, Baker it is then'.
Anyway, I'd stick Robinson or Grealish into that '11'.
-
did Mark Falco have the biggest hooter in football?
-
No that would be Cantona on his sardine boat it is the size of a large baguette.
-
all of Eric is now pretty huge. Too many Breakfast's at Eric's
-
Sod it today I'd play Steer, Grealish and Robbo from the off. Give them some experience
-

I would definitely play Grealish.
We've got next to nothing to lose, and it'd be nice for the season to end positively for someone at the club.

Actually I say there's nothing to play for, if we win and other results go away we can finish 3 places higher in 12th and land an extra £6m in prize money.
So quite a lot at stake to be fair.

Six players from the French second division or a whole team if you factor in the Bulgarian third division and Liberian Conference second division North
-
Or we could use the £6m to pay off Bent and Given and have change for Lamberts compo.
I love football.
-
1-1. Lennon for them, Bertrand for us
