It hurts seeing us looking so poor in quality and having to resort to making our players all defenders against a team with quality, this is the worst team i have seen in my 24 years as a Villan, and i can't see us doing anything different at Spurs either, it's disgraceful for our club to be playing like a lower league side travelling to a team in a higher division, ok enough moaning 3-0 Spurs as i shake my head.

Neither side has particularly any reason to win the game so I can see it being a draw with a few goals.

2-2, Weimann and Bacuna for us - couldn't care less who for them.

As its the last game of the season, and quite possibly Lambert's last game,I suggest we will go on all out attack from the first minute. Hopefully he will play Robinson, Grealish and Albrighton as the front three and....

No. He will play for a no goal draw and  describe our performance as 'great...really great'.... just after we have lost 3-0

As opposed to last night when we set up to keep the score down to single figures and inevitably shipped a shedload. Fu**ing disgrace to the club, the players and the fans.
We've got nothing to play for except prize money and pride.
I prefer the latter on Sunday please Mr Lambert.

My unfortunate and current attitude is what does it matter? We've won our cup final of staying up. I've seen the worst football in the last 3 years I've ever seen in 20 and I'm numb. If we turn spuds over 5-0 are we great - if we lose 5-0 are we shit? I'd argue if we won 100-0 we're shit - just look at the league for the last 3 years. D as my old teachers used to say.

We'll win this one. Spurs are not really that much cop, the shackles will come off (I know they didn't on Wednesday but they will this time) and it would be typical Villa to "bookend" a largely toss season with good away wins in North London to open and close.

3-2 Villa, Weimann x2, Bowery's first/only goal for Villa.

I'd give a couple of the other fringe/yoofs a go to. Give em a chance to play against a big club, see how they cope. And also in some cases, possibly a last chance for some of Lambo's signings to try and have an impact. Tonev, Helenius perhaps. If Gardner was fit I'd give him a go too. If not, Johnson.
There's no point bringing a half fit Gabby back, or Albrighton, who hopefully has already done enough to earn a new deal.

I'd also put Steer in to see how he does.

It did make me laugh the other day. I was talking to a mate of mine who supports QPR. He'd watched our game on sky and asked me "Who was that 12 year old lad with no shin pads who came on near the end? He looked like a ballboy that had got on the pitch."

I'm hoping this is the last game of our 4 year slump, fingers crossed.

Christ that 89/90 season review brings back some memories.

The video got me wondering whatever happened to Elton Welsby. Check out his Wikipedia page. Partridge-esque in places.

Still painful after nearly 25 years!!  Considering we had Cowans, McGrath and Platt pretty much near their peak, a top striker might have been the difference.

As for the present, it would be nice to think we will at least show some attacking intent.  Would like to see a bit more of Grealish and Robinson.

Gotta sign off with style go out with 5 at the back, huff and puff till about 40 mins then let one in, look around at manager and coaching staff then at each other, and decide lets defend for another 60mins and lose 4-0, well that's the Villa style now isn't it.

I'm sure we've got one last embarrassment left in us this season and as it's on Sky I'm sure we'll oblige.  4-0 Spurs.

I cant help but think if we have a go at them we may have a chance. Wet Spam beat them easily, Spurs don't seem too interested. Why cant we have a go at them, Lambert?

I think they need a point to qualify for the Europa Cup so they may put some effort in. As Albrighton is probably out our lot will not show much attacking intent and probably lose 2-0.

But who cares.? Tomorrow is all that matters for Aston Villa. Or maybe even tonight!

The key thing is that both Hull and WBA drop points below us so we can finish as high as possible. I don't hold much hope we'll win today but i'd like to think the teams below us will only draw or lose so we finish as high as possible. Win and we'd be above West Ham whom you'd imagine would lose today.

I'd like to see us go with Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bertrand, Delph, Westwood, Bacuna, Agbonlahor, Weimann and try to give it a real go but it will no doubt be 5 at the back with 3 defensive midfielders and try to play on the break... again

We'll get dicked 0-3

Even Lambert would pick eleven players surely?! Maybe this is why we end up with five at the back, he gets to this point and thinks 'sod it, Baker it is then'.

Anyway, I'd stick Robinson or Grealish into that '11'.

I would definitely play Grealish.

We've got next to nothing to lose, and it'd be nice for the season to end positively for someone at the club.

Actually I say there's nothing to play for, if we win and other results go away we can finish 3 places higher in 12th and land an extra £6m in prize money.
So quite a lot at stake to be fair.

Six players from the French second division or a whole team if you factor in the Bulgarian third division and Liberian Conference second division North

Or we could use the £6m to pay off Bent and Given and have change for Lamberts compo.
I love football.
