No doubt been posted before. Most of the game.
If you haven't the time to watch the match. Just watch the last 5 mins. Thats how it used to be following the Villa. And if you haven't time for that, just listen to the last 15 seconds.

Brilliant.
-
Chris Nicholl's super strike, then a Brian Little master class.
When asked about his goal, Nicholl said 'I didn't know what to do, so I just hit it' (or words to that effect)
-
Happy days. I wish Sir Brian played for us now. What a player.
-
Chris Nicholl's goal is one of my all-time favourite Villa goals.
-
What a great night that was!
Especially after a really poor game at Wembley, then the trip to Sheffield for the replay and finally a night to remember.
Happy days, indeed.
-
I was at that marvellous game, and all I've seen of it since has been the goals. So I will enjoy watching this.

My second favourite Villa night after the ManU semi-final.
Always remember the great atmosphere after the game. Coming out of OT and the Everton fans shaking hands with the Villa fans. Had a soft ever since for Everton after that game. I was living in Liverpool at the time, which certainly made the 3 games more memorable as well.

I can't really watch it without wanting to have a little weep to be honest...so many memories, just the best of times, encapsulates what it used to be like to follow the Villa and to be a football fan more generally. Bloody hell, it was fun

Great stuff
-
i was right behind the goal and nicholls shot seemed to keep coming and coming, i went absolutely mental when it went in then the lionel messi of the villa took over what a night so proud to be there.
yet again our support was absolutely immense that night.

Went to wembley:-( had to miss both replays due to work
-
cost me arm & leg missing work, but it was worth it pl should me made to watch this a dozen times this is how aston villa should be
-
The best night I've had as a Villa fan, just above the Liverpool 5-1. I was just 13, went with my Dad and his mates in a minibus. On the terrace at the side of the pitch, got separated from Dad at some point, he spotted me when the trophy was being presented as I'd been hoisted onto the shoulders of some ecstatic and kind random bloke so I could see better. We sang all the way home.

My first posting on this great forum. Found it a while ago after Googling for this match. What memories. Went on the coach with my old man to Wembley - had a terrible view - of a terrible game. Could not go to the replay because of his work. But then by car up to the second replay. It's a night I will never forget. What tension, what ups and down, what goals! The Villa support was just fantastic in those days. It was a privilege to be part of it.

Thanks for posting
I was 12 but remember the night vividly. I was playing at Sutton Town in a footy tournament and we listened to extra time on someone's car radio.
Love Sir Rons leather coat! Great atmosphere and John Motson!
There was no chance of me going to the game due to the lack of funds in my parents household.
Makes me want to weep when comparing the shite I watched last night v Citeh compared to the 77 side. I was at Highbury and Rotterdam but still prefer the 77 side.
Great days

Someone has doctored that footage. Everyone knows Nicholl was in our own penalty area when he scored.
-
In another twenty years people will be told he hit it from Sir Matt Busby Way.
-
I went to Wembley and Old Trafford but unlike some of you guys I don't remember a great deal. Great to see Cropley and Philips. And two sets of players with mutual respect. No writhing in agony after a tackle and if you look at the corners there is absolutely no wrestling - bliss.

This.
That team, that season and this match epitomised everything the club had been working toward after being relegated to the 3rd division.
When you watch this you have to weep at the current situation and reflect that so many of the current players are not fit to wear the shirt.
