Saturday 26th April 3.00pm KO.

A draw that almost looked like another defeat.

They could be on the beach pissed out of their brains and still walk all over us.

on saying that I've gone for an optimistic 0-0 as I cant see how we can score a Goal.

I am far too nervous to contemplate how utterly Lambert could eff this up. Except, he has been Swansea's bogey man at Norwich & Villa. A draw or a win should mean that we can then forget Villa for 4 months and enjoy life. By 16.50 this Saturday. Oh please oh please.

Really can't see us scoring, though Lambert does have a good track record against these. They'll certainly have a lot of the ball and we need to be good on the break, which I think means Gabby has to play despite his poor form.

Think I might go:

Guzan - Bacuna Vlaar Clark Bertand - KEA Westwood Delph - Albrighton Holt Gabby

Shame we didn't get Bony back in 2012 when his club blocked the transfer, we ended up Benteke though. If Benteke did leave last summer i reckon we would of went back in for him. This summer we'll need a striker and it's got to be the 27 goals in 29 apps Finnbogason, £7/8m will do it and gabby can jog on.

bit of a decision re Bacuna or Lowton but no issue with that side.

really only Guzan, Vlaar, Westwood and Delph are good enough to stay at the club. maybe Bacuna and obviously Bertrand if he becomes our latest effort at solving the left back debacle in the summer. Warnock, Shorey, Stevens, Bennett, Luna - awful each and every one.

The chance of Gabby scoring are almost none going by his form. If we do score it will most likely to be a midfielder or a Holt header.

We'll score early from our only shot on target and try to defend the lead for 80 minutes.

1-1. It won't be pretty but it should be another vital point to see us crawl to safety.

0-0 written all over it. They don't score many. I think we'll stay tight at the back and try and hit them on the break. They'll have 80% possession but do little with it. We'll be wretchedly ineffective in attack and never look remotely like scoring. Vlaar will probably be our best player.

Although I may also take Villa half time, draw at full time - 18/1.

If Chico Flores is out I actually think that's bad for us, clumsy defender who has a mistake or red card in him. Michu being ruled out is a definite plus, although I can't see Baker keeping Bony quiet. 2-0 Swansea, leaving it down to us needing a point or maybe 3 v Hull.

Don't forget to bet on 'No goals' rather than a 0-0 scoreline. Same odds but you still win if the only goal of the game is an own goal. At this point I should declare that this has NEVER ever worked for me. Still makes me feel a bit clever when I place the bet though.

I'd take a point if you offered it me now that is for sure.

This game will give a good indication of what many of us have come to realise - that regardless of circumstances (injuries/suspensions), Lambert is a negative, cowardly manager.

We should be going out to win and putting any lingering relegation fears to bed. However, I fear we'll be going out for a 0-0. And that will end up biting us on the ar$e.

2-0 to them. Two late goals.

With a bit of luck (and by that I mean Swansea putting in an 'already on the beach'-type performance…) we could get a draw out of this, but I'm not too confident because, well, because we have a dreadful team playing dreadful football, basically. Maybe the 'reinvigorated' training sessions will result in some improvement this week.

For what it's worth, I'd plump for the following team:

                 Guzan

Lowton  Vlaar  Clark  Bertrand

                  Sylla
        El Ahmadi  Delph

Albrighton               Agbonlahor

              Helenius

4-4-2 for me

Guzan
Lowton - Clark - Vlaar - Bertrand
Bacuna - Delph - Westwood - Albrighton
Robinson - Holt

Actually, i couldn't pick 2 forwards from Robinson, Holt, Weimann and Gabby. apart from the young lad none of em deserve a start.

Fully expect a loss, hope to Sid i'm wrong

What price a scandalous West Germany-Austria stitch-up by the two clubs?

We wouldn't...they wouldn't...would they...?
Wouldn't think so

We would, they wouldn't.

I saw an old episode of Goldenballs the other day. Trust nobody.

That game finished 1-0. Nobody would want to be Austria

I read about that recently (assume you mean that Sunderland thing). Staggering.

Seven of Aston Villa's last 10 Premier League games have been 0-0 at half-time.
They have won just one of the eight Premier League games that Christian Benteke has missed this season, scoring only six goals in the process.
It is now 17 months since Swansea last won two Premier League games in a row.

Hmm...

Yep. The Mackems haven't, and will never, forgive him.

Is what Hill did any different to us flashing up goals as they happen on the screens? I know it was over a tannoy back then but surely the principal is similar? I even remember the old electronic scoreboard flashing up Ipswich latest scores when they weren't winning a few times.

Hill reportedly sent a message down to the bench to his manager to instruct his team and the opposition of the score and if they played out a draw they'd both be safe. The remaining minutes of the game were a farcical scene of two teams playing unchallenged keep ball. It was a fair but more serious than flashing scores up I think.

Swansea to win 2-0. I hope I am wrong. A Sunderland/ Cardiff draw would be great.

It happened a few seasons back, Man. United needed a point to win the league, Blackburn needed a point to stay up and they just let MU pass the ball around in their own half for the last 5 minutes.

A point would suit both tomorrow and this game usually ends in a draw anyway.

He also manufactured some crowd congestion nonsense excuse to start Cov's game 15 minutes late. That's the biggest thing.

Really nervous about this game. I just don't see how we will score a goal. Would be over the moon with a point, 3 would be dreamland.

I'm just reminding myself that last January, when we were an absolute disaster of a team on the back of some comedy results we weathered a storm from Swansea, I think they hit the post a few times and we SHOULD have beaten them, if not for another last minute fuck up. We seem to do OK against these, no matter how poor we've played running up to them.

On that note, i'm going 1-1. Villa to take the lead against the run of play and Bony to equalise in the 74th minute, but we hold on.

Ah, that is different. Although it's Coventry, how could anyone believe there was crowd congestion?

The first twenty minutes of that game last season was one of the most shambolic spells of the season, and that's saying something. We could genuinely have been 5-0 down in 25 minutes. There was one point when all three of our centre halves were standing in a vertical line about 15 yards from the touchline.

Benteke and Weimann got us out of a hole that day and we could have won it. We really need Weimann or Gabby or Delph to step up today.

Basically, its a right mess, just like a certain football team.

Pissing down and blowing a gale now. It's not going to be a classic game of flowing football.

Not that it ever was going to be, I suppose
