He's gone three at the back against one striker, with one full-back each against a winger and opposing full-back. Hmm.

Lowton will score today, I can sense it. Probably be 1-1 or something.

Anyway, let's hope we get something!

Looks like a repeat of the game at West Ham with 8 across the back, no midfield and two up front. Looks like he's turned up for a point.

Hopefully the lads will decide to give it a go and venture into the opposition's half.

Chin up lads. Gabby, Delph, KEA are back today.

The wings are the threat from them but I'm quietly optimistic.

Think it will be close but 2 - 1 to us.

We're 4.1 to win today which I think is great value.

Weimann dropped is the best move PL has made today. Hope Albrighton gets on the pitch. Bacuna must be injured. But Westwood will be up for free kicks, and Bertrand and Lowton on each wing should be enough. 0-1 Come on Villa lets put this season to bed .........

Anyone hear about what Charlie Nicholas said on Soccer Saturday:

"I have it on very good authority from a mutual friend of ours, that Paul has been exceptionally close to deals for Barry, Lukaku, Sissoko, Holtby and Coutinho, only to have them fail at boardroom level. He knows what he needs to do, but I'm not sure the structure put in place there will ever allow him to do any better. He'd be the first to admit he's not doing great, but I'm told he's getting frustrated by the lack of ambition. It's a big summer because he's kept his part of the bargain now. I think he'll walk away if he's not given funds."

Interesting.

Very worrying if true. Hard to know though, could well be a bit of self-preservation on Lambert's part to try and make himself look better.

I think the story falls at the first hurdle. We were never in for Barry. Barry has said it, as has Lambert. Self preservation seems to be the act of the day.

You could also take that to meaning that while the house was on fire they weren't going to invest in more wood. I don't disbelieve Nicholas but isn't his comments really in line with the financial direction the club committed to when Lambert joined? Every player decision since has indicated that while some of those disastrous contracts existed, we weren't going add any new ones of that level. As a fan it doesn't make good reading.

If that's the financial line we are taking, then we're never going to achieve anything.

It'd actually make me feel sympathetic to Lambert. And there would be only limited point in sacking him.

Utter shite the only thing we do when we get the ball is to have a 10 man homage to George Boateng and pass it sideways.Seems its actually 4-4-2 with KEA wide right and Betrand LM ...seriously

We needed HT. Zero shots on target from us. Hopefully that was our bad half.

What an absolutely awful game of football.

I was just thinking, both of these sides have recently beaten Chelsea.

I wouldn't back either of them to beat Chelsea Ladies today.

Awful, awful game.

I'm also getting slightly nervous looking at the table.

My god that was dull. Neither team wants to lose this and it seems both managers would settle for a point to edge closer to mathematical safety.

We have no invention at all. There's no need for 3 CB's, so I'd take off Clark or Baker and bring on Albrighton, switch to 3 up top. I'd be tempted to bring Tonev on quite early in the second half too. We need a bit of pace.

What a turgid, depressingly familiar first half.

Two appalling sides playing Championship one standard nonsense. It's a shame we can't claim any points for backwards passes or aimless hoofs up pitch. We storm the league if we could that's fore sure

Where's the attack ? Where's the midfield ? Where's the width ?

We startet ok defensively, but there is no creativity at all. Glad it is 0-0 at half-time.

All the passing at the back annoys me, why do Westwood and Delph not try to pass forward more, and where is Agbonlahor ? Missing as usual..

In many ways, I like Gabby, at times he's vital for us.

There are, though, far too many games where he's pretty much invisible, and I don't think we have enough quality elsewhere to have the luxury of him coasting.

Going into the final relegation run in in absolutely no form is not the place to be in

We're just praying on others being unable to put a run together

I think Fulham are going to put a run together - they've got easy fixtures

So I think actually we might be best off if Norwich don't get one back after all.

Why didn't he make a change earlier. Playing for a draw against fucking Palace. What have we become??

Well the only positive from this game is that if even we lose there would be no way back for Lambert now. The sooner he departs our great club the better. Same goes for Lerner, especially Lerner.

Collective incompetence of the highest order on the pitch today.

pass it on.

Please tell Randy to leave as well

Yep, Randy picks the players and is responsible for tactics. He has his flaws, but few were against bringing Lambert on board, so stop being a revisionist.

I am looking forward to my season ticket renewal phone call. I won't be rude, just a simple No to the invitation to shell out another £800 to watch this once great institution being systematically destroyed. Got better things to do with my life.

Don't be so sure. We need a weekend where everything goes our way AND a win from absolutely nowhere, and I personally can't see that happening now everything's getting frantic.

I will argue the point with anyone on here, Lambert needs to go now. we are 6mins away from 5 losses in a row. ANYONE can do as equally bad as Lambert at the moment so why not pull the bloody trigger

4 straight losses. We're not quite shit enough to have lost a game we haven't yet. Almost that shit, but not quite.

If what Charlie Nicholas said earlier is true, then it doesn't matter who is in charge - the finance isn't available.

It makes me think that Lambert went for Kozak because the creative player we needed would not be financed by the board, he looked to shore up the defence and play us as a counter-attacking side with big men up front to hit long balls to.

i think if there were another two games left to play, we would be relegated.

There isn't a team we look capable of beating these days.

I don't care whose fault it is, Randy or Lambert of Faulkner, but we are a club quite clearly going nowhere. At least nowhere we want to go.

Oh stop it, Pelty! Lerner's penny pinching and cutbacks dictates the class of player we sign at the Villa, and they are clearly lower league class.

well that was a poor performance.
we lack talent on the ball and nouse off it-we need an experienced midfielder to sort us out
this drags us back into it-thank god spurs managed to salvage a point off the baggies!
