Jed Steer is our reading star apparently! Some predictable choices but then again some surprising one!

Football Bio's and Dan Brown are not adult books - they are books in the main for teenagers.

Spoilt Tory Boy Fwank is an admirer of Lincoln - an old style 'Liberal'.

I'm surprised Ashley Young's chosen book isn't something by Tom Daley.

Typical brain dead footballers. They would probably think Dante's Divine Comedy is about Bayern Munich dressing room wind ups!!

My train was delayed at Nottingham station a couple of years ago so actually thumbed through a couple of pages of StevieMe's autobiography in WHSmiths to see if my prejudices about these self absorbed egomaniacs was without foundation.

Jeeps I had underestimated what the psychophants employed by the Golden Generation to write propoganda on their behalf could come up with.

The 2 pages I read referenced the 2006 World Cup and basically a tabloid journalist (dunno who) had apparently written Stevieme didn't play well (take your pick which game). Stevie then sought clarification of this alleged snipe and was happy that the journo wasn't sniping after all.

The NLT does some outstanding work, however I think this is a well-intentioned but ultimately ill-conceived campaign to appeal to reluctant readers.  I doubt any boy who doesn't like reading - because that it the intended target - is going to pick up Roald Dahl book because some lesser light in the Premier League firmament has been pictured holding a brand new copy.  A pity, because with a player of Frank Lampard's standing on board it could be much more productive in its aims.

I read this as Redding and was wondering who their stars are. Carry on.
