Ten years ago! Incredible.
-
I know it was a thrashing but I didn't really take too much satisfaction from this game, Wolves have never bothered me.
-
I remember that game. I think we had about 8 corners in the first 10 minutes and we played bloody well.
-
JPA's second was one of his best goals. Sad seeing that as it reminds me we used to have teams with some top players. Unlike the rabble we had out yesterday :-(

I remember a lot about the weekend even though I wasn't at the game. I was 18 and had been to a house party the night before, where I had drunk amongst other things a whole bottle of jack Daniels. I woke up with the worst hangover I'd ever had to that point, and had several replies to the various booty texts/desperate drunk ramblings from the night before. I had burnt quite a few bridges. I was supposed to go to the st Patricks day parade with my folks on the Sunday too but was so ill. I wasn't popular. I lay on the sofa at my parents house listening to the match on radio. It was a great cure. Jpa was awesome at times.

They had a penalty and Henri Camara missed it. Also Their goalie (Paul Jones?) made a few howlers. I remember there were lots of Wolves fans looking through a gap between the stands and we were helpfully holding up fingers to let them know that we'd scored again and it was now 4-0 :D

I was 'behind enemy lines' for this one as I had a ticket off a mate who is Wolves season ticket holder - so was sat in the main stand - just behind the dug outs.
We played really well that day - and as said above , the one finish by JPA was absolutely class.

Had free courtesy tickets for the Waterloo Road stand or whatever they call it these days, as my Wolves supporting cousin got them off Denis Irwin.
Got tanked up in the ground at a bar that shouldn't have been open, had Hitz to score the first goal netting me £40. Celebrated both the 3rd and 4th goals among Wolves fans who were absolutely fine with me and chatted after the game.
More drinks in town and also introduced my cousin to the wonder of Narghis kebabs! Top day out!

Great stuff

When my first child was born, the midwife looked at me and asked, "Is that the proudest moment of your life then?"
My reply, "no, My proudest moment was watching Juan Pablo Angel score the fourth at the South Bank".

Thanks for posting.

Japes was quality that day. He had a turn of pace back then (not quick, quick, but could get a yard or two on your average CH). He got an injury the following season and it seemed to just knock a yard off that he never got back. Then every passing season knocked another yard or two more off him.

Went with my Dad. It was his 50th birthday weekend. Great day! We gave them a proper mauling. As everyone said, we had about 10 corners in as many minutes.
-
Some truly awful defending on show for the third.
Angel's finish for the fourth was absolutely top class.
