We could probably do with one of these.

Have the clocks not gone forward yet in the UK?
-
Have the clocks not gone forward yet in the UK?
Next weekend - lets have an early goal today please villa.
-
Blimey, they went forward three weeks ago over here. Wonder why such a difference?
-
Guzan, Bacuna, Bertrand, Westwood, Vlaar, Baker, El Ahmadi, Delph, Benteke, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
-
So I have to get up extra early whilst on holiday for the toddler water confidence swimming lesson I reckon.
-

Always been last weekend in march as far as I know .
-
subs: Steer, Sylla, Holt, Clark, Albrighton, Bennett, Robinson.
-
Guzan, Bacuna, Bertrand, Westwood, Vlaar, Baker, El Ahmadi, Delph, Benteke, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
Wow, a lambert teamsheet with no surprises .
Lets blow these turkeys away in style ;)

Harsh on Bennett.
-
Guzan, Bacuna, Bertrand, Westwood, Vlaar, Baker, El Ahmadi, Delph, Benteke, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
The correct line up. Glad Bertrand is back in. Good to see KEA is able to play also.
-
Come on Villa please win.

Agreed.
-
Harsh on Bennett.
Very harsh.
-
If you loan players, you have to play them. Otherwise they get really arsey about it. But it is harsh on Bennett.
-
No you don't .we have a bone fide squad member who had a big confidence boosting game last week.we should play him ahead of a player who may never play for us again after the season ends.
-
I had a treble today of Villa, spurs and rangers.
Do I cash out before kick off or plough on!?
Come on you villa boys
-
0-0 written all over it
-
COYVB! Bit harsh on Albrighton after his good stuff last week, but Weimann was also good so could plausibly go either way.
I'm just so relieved that a nice mid-table affair with almost no pressure on the game will grace VP for the first time since MON (pretty much). We're not out of it, but hopefully the relative lack of pressure on the players can help them give an entertaining performance.
It's all on Westwood for me - when he plays well, we do.
-

You know that how? Are our forwards and their forwards not playing?
-

You know that how? Are our forwards and their forwards not playing?
Stoke will stifle the game and we struggle to break teams down who sit back.
-
Just like we struggled against Norwich ;).
Now, I'm not saying we're suddenly Barca, but that Norwich game did look a bit like a turning point.
-
I hate Geoff Shreeves with a passion. He's like a broken record with his mundane obvious questions.
-
I thought this was the easiest of the three games ( norwich chavski and this )
so we are bound to lose
3-0 Villa
-
Would love a rip-roaring (never used that word ever) game, something like Cardiff v Liverpool or Chelsea v Arsenal yesterday with us victorious. Something to liven Sundays up.
-
Come on Villa....
-
Good gloves Gab, must be playing in goal today!! ;)
-
Get In !!!!
-
Lovely goal, great passing movement. Delph murders defence and Benteke batters it in.
-
wayhay
-
YAAAAAY
-
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!
-
Hahaha, fucking easy. We're in great form.
-
Lovely to be safe by tonight wouldn't it!
-
brilliant goal, made it look so easy.
-
great goal that ;)
-
How many passes for that one?
-
Very positive movement from the players. Made themselves available by moving forwards. Excellent.
-
Absolutely beautiful football. Beautiful.
-
That's a terrible challenge KEA, idiotic.
-
Stoke made that easy, bless' em. Ball watching and ignoring CB all alone near the penalty spot.
-
Nice guys...nice
-
Madness. No point doing that.
-
That's a terrible challenge KEA, idiotic.
Yep, lucky boy.
-
Maybe he saw Crouch and thought he looks a bit like Ramires....HAVE THAT!
-

Oh...

I agree
Oh...
That goal was a perfect example of how you break down teams who sit back.
-
Delph is so good right now. Controlling the middle of the park brilliantly.
-
We've played really well so far.
-
The confidence level of Delph must be sky high right now. He's becoming a really immense footballer
-
Loving hearing Sir Graham Taylor commentating on the game on Five Live.
-
We're playing very well at the moment, good patient stuff.
-
Still not totally convinced about Andi
-
Press the fucking ball Villa don't sit back.
-
We need to watch that at the back. Can't see us keeping another clean sheet like that.
-
Fuck
-
There you go.
-
Fucking terrible we've completely switched off in last 5 minutes, rubbish. Wake the fuck up Villa. Rubbish from Baker there.
-
Bollocks
-
That's a shit goal to concede.
-
Had a feeling that twat would score
Come on Villa !
-
Fuck off.
-
Fuck sake. What a shit goal to concede.
-
Crouch holding Baker down.
-
Still think we can score more than them.
-
I was just about to say that Crouch is the kinda of striker that Baker can own. Physical but not fast.
Then that happens.....
-
Still think we can score more than them.
Well I'd hope so, but rubbish to concede and not good enough.
-
Need to work as hard as we were in the first 10 mins. We slacked off, and aren't good enough to get away with that.
-
Got too casual.
-
We need to treat them like Chelsea...that's the mindset you need to win these type of games.
-
Oh for fuck sake Villa
-
that is fucking rubbish Villa
-
2-1 Stoke, shit, so typical of us, our season in 20 minutes
-
Fucking diabolical, truly horrendous pathetic defending.
-
Oh FFS!
-
Have to say, they look like the better side.
-
Another shit goal.
-
Pathetic that.
-
I'd like to see us press more, get into them. Work rate is down on last week. Fuck sake!!!
-
Poor defending. Utterly static from everyone.
-
Just Fuck Off. Absolutely pathetic
I hate Stoke
-
weimann bloody rubbish
-
Oh fuck off
-
Jesus Shitting Christ.
-
Fuck
-
Weimann needs to fuck off man.
-
Terrible from Bacuna and Weimann, but as usual Baker falls asleep and loses his man. He really has no clue about positioning.
-
4 defenders in the box, no one marking their only striker. Fucking gash.
-
Crouch continues to haunt us !
-
Baker at fault for both goals. Bacuna and Andi also weak for the second.
-
KEA hammy. Marc on.
-
we are just so unprofessional in instances like this
-
Baker at fault for both goals. Bacuna and Andi also weak for the second.
Yep Baker once again showing he is not up to it.
-
Come on then Mark, show your worth.
-
Well the last few games we looked defensively solid...and now...well.
-
It's probably the fourth or fifth time we've conceded two goals within 5 minutes this year.
-
Too much fannying around.
-
Looks a quad
-
I think playing Gabby at home is totally pointless.
-
There's a certain predictability about all this, though, you have to say.
-
yes, Albrighton for KEA. Thats what we need to get some flair and speed into this game...
The sooner the better, get anyone on for Weimann while we at it....
-
He should of kept Bennett in
-
Sylla? Ughhhhh. Oh AND Alby. Good.
-
gabby needs to practice shooting , is finishing his pants lately
-
Not Sylla surely?!
-
KEA and Weimann injured then. Sort it fucking out Villa.
-
Albrighton and Sylla on
-
But Sylla fucking loves the Villa! And he's gonna show it! (Hopefully).
-
Marc and Sylla for KEA and Andi (dead leg). Started well, didn't it.... But now.
-
All things considered not bad changes
-
Sylla is rubbish might as well play with 10 men
-
There's a certain predictability about all this, though, you have to say.
Villa never push on after a good result. Hand above the surface and always screw it up next game. So very very frustrating but utterly inevitable.
-
But Sylla fucking loves the Villa! And he's gonna show it! (Hopefully).
;D
-
Gary Gardner, out on loan. Yacouba Sylla, playing for the first team. Ridiculous.
-
Crouch continues to haunt us !
The Ghost of Christmas Past would score against that defence
-
Conceding two goals within 5 minutes is becoming a real problem and it's fucking ridiculous.
-
We're playing like we're already on the beach.
-
Gary Gardner, out on loan. Yacouba Sylla, playing for the first team. Ridiculous.
I believe Gardner is back now.
He'll be at home playing Call of Duty, rather than on the bench, mind.
-
Press the fucking ball Villa, we look dreadful now.
-
Well there's a game turned on its head eh?
-
Stoke without an away win since August. OF COURSE they're gonna beat Aston Villa.
-
There's a certain predictability about all this, though, you have to say.
Villa never push on after a good result. Hand above the surface and always screw it up next game. So very very frustrating but utterly inevitable.
7 years since we last won 3 on the bounce. Says it all really.
And I just haven't got that feeling that were going to get back into it either. In fact I think its likely we may concede a couple more.
-
Oh, he's back?
Even more ridiculous then. Gardner is a football player. Not sure what Sylla is yet.
-
We're playing like we're already on the beach.
First outing of this one for the season. I'd rather we'd passed the fourty point mark first though.
-
We look like we've just come back from Russia after playing Thursday on Channel 5.
-
The problem with situations like this is you can just see our confidence draining, we start dropping back, we see that gap between Benteke and the rest of the team grow, Gabby starts going great chunks of time without touching the ball at all, and we're happy to get off for half time.
-
We look like we've just come back from Russia after playing on Thursday on Channel 5.
We look like we're just back from a holiday in the Crimea.
-
Lowts not on the bench? Coulda brought him on then moved Bacuna into central midfield.
What I'm saying is - why Sylla? :\
-

And then when we're 2-1 down with about 5 minutes to go, we'll start playing when it's too late
-

this

Next goal will win.
-

Yep we're all over the place now.
-
Well this is our crap half obviously.
-
We've got to have Albrighton taking set pieces. Westwood is gash.
-
We look like we've just come back from Russia after playing on Thursday on Channel 5.
We look like we're just back from a holiday in the Crimea.
A sniper pointed at some of them might be the rocket up their arse they need.
-
ffs bacuna having a fucking mare
-
Oh Villa. Absolute shit.
-
Baker is fucking diabolical.
-
Game Over
-
oh jaysus
-
3-1, we are utterly pathetic, so so unprofessional and lacking in balls
-
Goodnight, Villa.
-
SHIT!
-
baker shit as well
-
That was desperate defending.
-
That's fucking horrendous.
-
THAT WAS SHIT.
-
Bacuna is being slaughtered and has been awful and Baker is fucking garbage.
-
Fucking hell, Nathan Baker, that was truly, truly terrible.
-
how many times can you try and then eventually fuck it up
-
Game over.
More shit defending that led to the goal.
Aston Villa are pathetic.
-
Villa are back.
-
Baker at fault for all three goals. How in hell is he in the team not Clark?
-
absolute fucking garbage. normal service resumed. we playing like the away side, they out fighting and outthinking and outnumbering us all over the pitch. bacuna shit! decent goal from Tekkers, that's all.
-
Villa are back.
Ha ha ha. Ain't that the truth.
-
Game over!
-
Normal service resumed. Pathetic utterly pathetic.
-
Reminder Gabby is on the pitch there, as he wanders into shot.
-
Back to normality.
-
You couldn't get more calamity than that.
-
Only villa can do this I swear. One week great, the next utter shit
-
Villa are back.
;D :-[
-
back to life back to reality
-
Need to clear heads and kick arses at half time or this could be a thrashing.
-
Bertrand has been gash.
-
Sylla looks garbage
-
Baker at fault for all three goals. How in hell is he in the team not Clark?
Fuck knows, he's a really poor player.
-
Baker at fault for all three goals. How in hell is he in the team not Clark?
Fuck knows, he's a really poor player.
So is Sylla and Gabby is a waste of space in home games
-
Sylla looks like he's a fan who won the Acorns Day raffle, first prize a place in the team.
-
Reminder Gabby is on the pitch there, as he wanders into shot.
I would have started with marc
gabby on bench
-
Pat Murphy going on about Villa fans leaving after the third went in - can you blame them? It's nowhere near good enough from Villa.
-
After the first ten minutes we've been fucking atrocious.
-
Lambert can mumble at them about going again for 15 minutes. We got this.
-
I'd take a draw now
-
Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans, that was truly, truly awful from Baker for the third.
-
Baker at fault for all three goals. How in hell is he in the team not Clark?
Fuck knows, he's a really poor player.
So is Sylla and Gabby is a waste of space in home games
At least Sylla doesn't start most weeks.
-
Not one decent performance this half.
-
N'zonzi and Palassos dominating midfield...at Villa Park...for Stoke!
We really need a quality playmaker next season...
Only Delph is good enough currently.
-
Reminder Gabby is on the pitch there, as he wanders into shot.
Gabby is undroppable
I would have started with marc
gabby on bench
-
Normal service resumed at villa park again - shocking 30 minutes and utter garbage defensively.
-
awful just fucking awful
-
The Chelsea game was nothing more than an illusion.
-
All over the place from us.Stoke are not that good and haven't been that good its just we are completely inempt
Same issue as always against shit teams we perform shit
-
stoke had scored 6 away goals all season ffs
-
Anyone still worried about Lambert jumping to a better job if we don't get his contract extended?
-
Total horseshit. Nothing we haven't seen before, time after time. Perhaps proof that we don't turn corners at Villa, we just go round in circles. And we go again.
-
Baker has once again demonstrated that he is nowhere near Premier League class, he is a liability. That is on top of Bacuna having an absolute nightmare.
-
I wish Gabby would stop being so nice all the freakin time...We need him angry like the Harewood days.
-
Booooooooooooo
Rubbish
-
Lambert never learns, he continues playing the same players like Sylla and Baker and they continue to make the same mistakes.Either he is clueless or just stubborn.Probably both!
-
Where is the leadership on that pitch.
-
Just when you start to think, hey, maybe Baker will become a dependable to flight central defender, you get a brutal reminder of his weaknesses.
-
Murphy's a prize cockend though. They'll all be going downstairs early.
-
Really poor first half from Baker, Sylla looks totally out of his depth and, after great performances from the full backs last week both sides have looked weak again, so frustrating.
-
I didn't see this one coming. Sylla has looked lost since coming on, & a few others not much better. Cack.
-
First 10-15 minutes we were cruising, then imploded.
-
What are his tactics? Everything is geared to going down the left and that's it. Their midfield is pissing all over ours, in fact do we have one?
-
Baker has once again demonstrated that he is nowhere near Premier League class, he is a liability. That is on top of Bacuna having an absolute nightmare.
Both of them have been useless shame as both were excellent against Chelsea. In general since scoring we just slowed to a snails pace and other than Delph and Benteke have been sloppy all over the pitch. The subs have not helped as Sylla has again been woeful
-
Don't agree that it's game over
All depends on which villa team comes out in second half
If we can get one back it'll make things interesting
-
Shockingly bad at times. Delph and Benteke only two doing anything. Stoke still a bunch of snidey cheating twats.
-
I thought no adam and Ireland , this would be a home banker . ffs . Lambert makes Hughes look like guardiola
-
Just when you start to think, hey, maybe Baker will become a dependable to flight central defender, you get a brutal reminder of his weaknesses.
Yep he is never going to make it, because all the mistakes he makes now are exactly the same as when he first came into the side. He's just not good enough.
-
It's never fucking dull is it? Another corner turned, another head on collision with reality.
-
Piss poor. Two home wins on the spin. 1-0 up after 5 minutes and looking in good nick. We've switched off big time and we've been punished. Dire stuff.
Sylla looks poor as per normal. Baker again has been suspect. In the last couple of weeks he's been solid, but that's the problem with Baker and why he's got no place being a regular in the Premier League, he switches off. I don't mind him for the odd game, but anything more than 4-5 games in a row and he'll bollocks us up. Poor player, lets be fucking honest.
I don't think we're out of the game yet. Benteke looks sharp, so we'll see. Lambert needs to dish out a rollicking and get some composure back in the side. It's not looking good though.
How can we go from the Chelsea performance to this utter shambles? Bloody hell.
-
Yikes. How's wrong was I? We shell shocked stoke in the first five mins, then got complacent. Stoke looked like scoring with every attack, and once again there's acres of space down our left side.
-
Before this game my mate gave me some money to buy him a ticket for Southampton, he'll be pissed when he finds out he's going by himself.
-
This is going to take one hell of a turnaround.
-
After about 5 minutes it's looked like Boys vs Men. All our players were been blown over by the wind first half and then expecting a free-kick!
-
It just shows our lack of depth in the squad and quality in midfield when you have the likes of Sylla coming on....
-
Good to bad in one half.
Sure I've seen that before...
Gabby would be a good player if he could play football. Baker is always a mistake waiting to happen. Bacuna isn't a fullback. Is Sylla really a professional footballer?
Stoke were there for the taking, but as usual we play well for only a short period of time.
-
I don't rate baker at all but it's not like we could have dropped him after last week is it.
I believe we just scored way too early, we've switched off since and imploded!
Sylla should not be anywhere near the pitch though. Should have moved Bacuna into midfield instead.
As for Gabby, he's been shit for ages, we gloss over it cause he's one of us however he is more anonymous than Weimann has been this year
-
get Deano or Super Kev back on the pitch ffs.
-
Anyone still worried about Lambert jumping to a better job if we don't get his contract extended?
I tremble at the thought at not having Lambert's tactical genius about the place...
-
Let's be totally honest, though.
Is anyone really, genuinely surprised?
I was talking to a friend about this match yesterday, and said that there isn't really any scoreline, in favour of either side, which would surprise me (without going into the realm of the absurd, 33-33, that sort of thing).
To have two consecutive good home wins, and then to sit around half-arsed whilst Stoke spunk three soft goals into our face, having scored six away goals all season, it's not even remotely surprising.
-
Sylla really does not look like a professional footballer. There are 9 year olds at my boy's school who can trap a ball better than him.
-
Just when you start to think, hey, maybe Baker will become a dependable to flight central defender, you get a brutal reminder of his weaknesses.
Yep he is never going to make it, because all the mistakes he makes now are exactly the same as when he first came into the side. He's just not good enough.
I said after Baker was getting a load of paise last week to wait until he plays against a two man front line. Last week, as well as we played we got lucky they had one up front and that one was Torres who is horrible. You can see now with a bit of movement how poor Baker's positioning becomes and how poor he can look. Vlaar can't do it all himself.
-
Struggling for a win ? Haven't won away for months ?
Welcome to Villa Park.
-
Anyone still worried about Lambert jumping to a better job if we don't get his contract extended?
I tremble at the thought at not having Lambert's tactical genius about the place...
good riddance if he did go. had enough.
-
We still might get something here.
-
Lambert never learns, he continues playing the same players like Sylla and Baker and they continue to make the same mistakes.Either he is clueless or just stubborn.Probably both!
Not sure he has that many alternatives, Clarke has not exactly been brilliant and who have we got to play in midfield?
Too many players having terrible performances.
-
Has to be psychological, put the effort and concentration in against Chelsea, then turn off against stoke, cannot afford to do that at any level of football.
-
Lambert never learns, he continues playing the same players like Sylla and Baker and they continue to make the same mistakes.Either he is clueless or just stubborn.Probably both!
Not sure he has that many alternatives, Clarke has not exactly been brilliant and who have we got to play in midfield?
Clark?
That's not a spelling correction, btw, a genuine suggestion. I think he's better there than he is in defence.
-

Yep his positioning is so bad, it's not even park level. He hasn't learnt at all and he's not good enough.
-
I think this could end up being a total mauling.
Inexcusable today.
-
Just watched highlights...Baker is involved and fails terrible at every goal!
Then the showed a few other chances for stoke and he is actually WORSE in those sequences...
-
Lambert never learns, he continues playing the same players like Sylla and Baker and they continue to make the same mistakes.Either he is clueless or just stubborn.Probably both!

Clark?
That's not a spelling correction, btw, a genuine suggestion. I think he's better there than he is in defence.
I wouldn't mind him as an anchor to allow Westwood further forward, but Lambert just doesn't rate him as a midfielder. He could do no worse than Sylla though. Bloody awful player. I've not always been KEA's biggest fan but the fact we really miss him since Sylla's been on, says a lot.
-
Bacuna is great as a defender when he's up against tricky wingers he's a liability against any long balls or physical wingers!
-
Someone finally won the half time competition. Sign him up!
-
This is going to take one hell of a turnaround.
That's what I like to hear. Come on lads ffs.
-
Making Sturk look like Barca fuckin lona.
It not right is it?
-
Lambert never learns, he continues playing the same players like Sylla and Baker and they continue to make the same mistakes.Either he is clueless or just stubborn.Probably both!

Not a bad shout, or put Bacuna in the middle and bring on Lowton. When there are so many awful performances though
-
Defence all over the shop. Midfield not connecting. Nothing working up top
I'm not really sure what the formation is now either, maybe the players aren't either. Albrighton should be out wide providing width i know that much
I'd say it can only get better, but i fear it could get worse.
-
You have to laugh, Sylla's first interaction with the ball when he came on was to "trap" it about fifteen yards.
-
Struggling for a win ? Haven't won away for months ?
Welcome to Villa Park.
Well you mentioned this on the prematch and I always think that these runs usually end evantually!
-
You have to laugh, Sylla's first interaction with the ball when he came on was to "trap" it about fifteen yards.
Heskey must have left his "How to trap a football" handbook somewhere around Bodymoor Heath.
-
I'd say it can only get better, but i fear it could get worse.
If we carry on like the last 30 minutes of the first half, then I think we're going to take a thumping here.
-
The first 5 mins were excellent!
Anyway on the good side someone has just won a FIFA14 console in that circle competition!
-
This is going to take one hell of a turnaround.
That's what I like to hear. Come on lads ffs.
I fear with the likes of Sylla on the pitch it just won't happen...
-
Early goal and we can win this. Pace and movement and Stoke will be fucked. Play like we did most of the last half hour and it will be us pulling our pants down.
-
Commentator just said that Stoke have never scored 3 first half PL away goals. We really are patsies for anyone looking to end a bad streak, aren't we?
-
Score before 70 and we may snatch a point. Although they look like they can score in every attack i'd get Clark on tbh.
-
You have to laugh, Sylla's first interaction with the ball when he came on was to "trap" it about fifteen yards.
Sylla looks well off pace.
-
Well, fingers crossed Villa. Good half please.
-
Terrible pass from Gabby to Sylla there.
-
Hoof!
-
Syllas touch lets him down again.
-
Hmmmm.
Second half, or Call of Duty. Maybe 15 mins CoD, then check the score, and we'll definitely have scored at least one. If i just watch it, however, we won't.
Decisions, decisions.
-
Syllas touch lets him down again.
The pass was far too hard.
-
Sylla has the first touch of a clam.
-
Sylla has the first touch of a clam.
It's like watching a puppy trying to pick a balloon up.
-
Bacuna is having a terrible, terrible game.
-
That touch from Sylla had Fred West written all over it.
absolute garbage.
-
Its ok blaming fall guy Baker for the goals, watch westwood for the 1st goal, failing to go with the runner, Odemwinge, the 2nd, being in a poor position, and not stopping the cross getting to Crouch in the first place, and then for the 3rd goal playing the ball to Sylla when he had a man on him.
Baker should have done better for the 3rd, but have to say there are one or two having very poor gammes, Gabby and Bacuna.Without Delph and CB, we would be a very poor team.
-
On the basis we have already lost this, things can only get better...
-
I see we've come out on the front foot
-
This is rubbish, no reaction at all at the moment.
-
We're actually making Stoke look the bollocks
-
Just sitting back and letting them play. Zero effort in trying to get the ball of them.
-
sylla pointing telling players what to do
ffs
sort yourself out first
-
Thank god Bertrand is only on loan.
-
Just sitting back and letting them play. Zero effort in trying to get the ball of them.
They're behaving like its us that's 3-1 up
-
Ten more minutes of this crap, then I'm giving my full attention to Iggy.
-
Just realised. Betrand was training with Luna for 3 weeks without a match. The influence has clearly been all the wrong way.
-
We don't play well and hardly win games played on Sundays.
-
good play by delph
-
Aston Villa FC @AVFCOfficial 43s
#AVFC 1-3 #SCFC - 51mins: Plenty of attacking verve from the hosts. #AVFCLIVE
Errrr. Ok.
-
Delph did well there.
-
benteke doing a young
-
Oh that was a penalty my view sitting in the North upper
-
Get up you tit.
-
Fuckin he'll Benteke. Maybe just hit it when you get a chance next time.
-
whats albrighton doing central ffs
-
Would anyone take a 7-3 victory?
-
At what point did Albrighton become a central midfielder?
-
Always a bad sign, Nigel Kennedy in the Bartons pre match = Jonah!
-
Failed attempt at a diamond in midfield, I guess.
-
stoke havent won here for 26 years ??
-
Petulant and rubbish Villa.
-
Lambert makes Hughes look like guardiola
Compared to Lambert he is.
-
calm down villa we dont need 10 men
-
Desperate stuff from Villa. Thickie football.
-
At what point did Albrighton become a central midfielder?
Lambert is a genius.
-
Albrighton is never a central player, another tactical masterclass.
-
Frustration showing now.
-
The movement's shocking. There's none. The players seem to think that once they've sprinted up to the edge of the opposition box, they've done their job and can stand still and wait for their teammate to metamorphose into Lionel Messi. FUCKING RUN YOU LAZY BASTARDS.
-
We seem to have zero composure.
It's like watching a bunch of children desperately chasing a tennis ball around a playground.
-
On course for our 9th home league defeat of the season .Is it another unwanted club record under Lambert ?
-
On the basis we have already lost this, things can only get better...
What`s going on? - we were winning comfortably when I sat down for my lunch - log back in and normal service has been resumed at Villa Park!
Not over yet but this is the type of result and I presume performance that is making people think twice about renewing.
-
It's all well and good saying Lambert is going to need plenty more time to turn things around at Villa, but by the looks of this, in the space of less than a season, Mark Hughes appears to have turned Stoke into Bayern Munich.
-
We seem to have zero composure.
It's like watching a bunch of children desperately chasing a tennis ball around a playground.
Yep no composure, movement or tactical plan.
-
Our confidential is absolutely shot. Can't see a way back into this at the moment. Team look so disjointed.
-
off side from that throw in ffs
-
This is absolutely dire.
-
we would be better off playing bloody Cilla Black
-
I think that is going to happen is that until 85 mins, we'll look as disjointed as we do now, then we'll absolutely pile on the pressure for the last five minutes, once it's far too late.
-
Half an hour left Lambert. Time to alter things.
-
Sylla...great song..appauling footballer!
-
Our confidential is absolutely shot. Can't see a way back into this at the moment. Team look so disjointed.
Assuming you mean confidence, yes I mean 2 good wins on the bounce and somehow our tactical fucking genius has reduced them to this.
-
Half an hour left Lambert. Time to alter things.
Must be almost five up front time?
-
Bored.
-
Baker makes Crouch look like Ibrahomvich
-
I'm gonna get some snacks. Anyone want anything?
-
Lots of huff. Plenty of puff. But not a braincell among the lot of 'em.
-
This is insipid rubbish, absolute garbage.
-
He'll bring on Holt for Gabby soon.
-
Yep. Not long until Holt Time. This really is Men against Boys. Stoke are playing well within themselves.
-
Ah a classic Baker lunge there.
-
was that baker then jumping in
-
Wow, one sub left, get Baker off?
-
The ref might as well blow up for full time now.
-
Ever time i hear Gabby mentioned ,it is followed by the words "poor first touch "
-
I'm gonna get some snacks. Anyone want anything?
Just had some ready salted Hula Hoops. Highlight of the second half. Contemplating theft of wife's beloved Cheesy Puffs. Which would be a good new name for Aston Villa these days.
-
We've really missed KEAs composure and Weimanns movement since they went off. Our squad is desperately short on quality.
-
This is utterly clueless even by our standards.
-
Stoke have not won at VP in the premier league
-
Albrighton has run around like a headless chicken since coming on.
-
Zero shots since the goal?
-
I'm gonna get some snacks. Anyone want anything?
Humble Pie for Lambert
-
Stoke have not won at VP in the premier league
They have now
-
Thought that was a pen.
-
We've really missed KEAs composure and Weimanns movement since they went off. Our squad is desperately short on quality.
thats how bad its got . weiman has been pretty poor all season
-
We just aren't with it today
-
Squarely at the door of Lambert this garbage.
-
Guess who is getting ready to come on? Easy to answer, I Grant you.
-
Every player shit today.
And here comes fatty.....
-
Guess who is getting ready to come on? Easy to answer, I Grant you.
Sigh!
-
stop saying young players
they are not bloody 18
-
Ever time i hear Gabby mentioned ,it is followed by the words "poor first touch "
There can't be many Premier league teams where he would be a regular starter, he's a headless chicken, brainless.
-
here comes the match saver ;(
-
442. Alby and Gabby on the wings.
-
Bloody hell, what system is this now?!
-
No shots in 20 mins of second half and a penalty shout that was never a penalty. only strategy is out to wing to cross into box. and it doesn't work. 9 home defeats!
-
So where are these two wins gonna come from?
Old Trafford next week - oh dear !!!
-
Zero shots since the goal?
I don't think we had many shots before the goal either.
-
One step forward, then one step back.... how we go from last week to this weeks performance...???
-
According to the BBC we've had 10 shots. Wtf?
-
how can bacuna go so shit today - hes been dreadful
-
I'll be amazed if Stoke don't score again
-
I really don't want another season of this again next year - so depressing.
-
Amazing how good we looked in the first 10-15 minutes, and how poor we've been since. When we play the ball short, on the ground, we can be pretty dangerous. Whatever this is we are trying doesn't work, to put it mildly.
-
So where are these two wins gonna come from?
Old Trafford next week - oh dear !!!
You've answered your own question. Damn they're bad at home.
-
So where are these two wins gonna come from?
Old Trafford next week - oh dear !!!
thing is we are so unpredictable you just never know. Very few people gave us a prayer last week against a far better team than Man U. Yet this week we've seemingly shit the bed against yet another mid table side. I suppose you could argue Man U are a mid table side. Point is, that we mix in good and shit in equal measure and without the first clue which game will be which.
-
oh well two easy games coming up ;)
-
I really don't want another season of this again next year - so depressing.
You'll get it as sure as eggs are eggs - a bit too good not to go down, a bit too shit to challenge for 8th, seemingly forever
-

story of our season and these two quick goals we seem to give away
-
Grant Holt is our worst ever signing. Worse than David Unsworth. I'm not joking.
-
Can't believe we are not having a go.
-
So where are these two wins gonna come from?
Old Trafford next week - oh dear !!!

You can't help thinking we have a small club mentality these days which means we are up for these games in the way a minnow is in the FA Cup
-
It's been a terrible display. How can we be so criminally inconsistent? This is Stoke without three of their first team.
-
least marc gives it a go
-
Question - "Was last weeks performance just "papering over the cracks?"
Overall the home form has been woeful.
-
Can't Helenius or Tonev make the bench anymore?
-
Question - "Was last weeks performance just "papering over the cracks?"
Overall the home form has been woeful.
I think we can all see the answer to that one.
-

I kind of agree but then again this is our ninth league loss at home.
That is consistently poor, so that bit is relatively predictable
-
Where's the reaction??
-
thing I don't understand is if our tactic is attack from set pieces, why do we have no one capable of taking a decent one?
-
Well Holt's really changed the complexion of this
-
No class or guile going forward whatsoever
-
Can't Helenius or Tonev make the bench anymore?
In theory, what they theoretically offer is what we need. In theory.
-
has holt touched it yet
-
least marc gives it a go
He's the only one who looks like he cares. What a awful performance this has been today.
-
No class or guile going forward whatsoever
No class at the back either - shocking display .
-
No class or guile going forward whatsoever
No class at the back either - shocking display .
Just no class and guile then.
-
So clueless.
-
Saunders and Phillips in Sky Studios show more passion. Benteke is a danger but when its going wrong hes more petulant than Savo.
-
We just don't have any really foundations to how we play. When we play well it all seems precarious, based on instinct and timing and touch and the players having confidence, not all of which have nothing to do with Lambert. However, when things go wrong it all flails and falls apart, and the players get the ball with no idea what might be done with it. That is Lambert's fault.

just after two good wins we've gone back to being bollocks. Predictable that we have done that on the back of two unpredictably good wins.
-
Stoke are not having to do much in this second half.
-
Out worst home record ever!? Think we've just broken it, wasn't it 8 losses at home that was the worst?
-
The prospect of lambert getting a new 3 year contract fills me with depression .
-

However, when things go wrong it all flails and falls apart, and the players get the ball with no idea what might be done with it. That is Lambert's fault.
You also get what you pay for by and large. You pay circa £2-3 million for players, this is what you get and, even more depressingly, why they are the only sorts of players we seem to attract these days
-
ha! that would have summed it all up, icing on the cake.
-
- we need so many players better than these -
awful
-
I am wondering whether I've got it wrong in terms of who to blame and this is more the fault of the manager than the players
-
Tried our hardest to concede again there.
-
Stokes defence were struggling with our quick passing around the box and midfielders running beyond. They have looked entirely comfortable with us punting hopeful balls in towards Benteke. Clueless.
-
what's mind boggling is how we can look so good and confident to start the game, score a goal and fall apart. I can't think of many teams that happens to. And it's not just this season and last. It's been an issue for a while now.
-
We aren't really trying anything different. Just the same things that haven't worked all game.
-
I am wondering whether I've got it wrong in terms of who to blame and this is more the fault of the manager than the players
Manager buys, picks the team , coaches the team and chooses formation etc - he is the one i blame most .
I think better managers would get more out of this group of players on a consistent basis .
-
Fucking rubbish shouts Delph. Hes not wrong.
-
I give them all 4/10 today
5 benteke for the goal
6 for albrighton and delph
-
Apart from Vlaar, Benteke, Guzan, Delph and maybe Bacuna, I honestly wouldn't mind any player leaving in the summer.
-
I've not really seen a lot in the last two seasons to make me think Lambert knows his stuff tactically, to put it mildly
-
back to hating football again this week.
-
baker , gabby , sylla and bacuna - coventry quality
-
1-4 and deservedly so - pathetic.
-
Booooooo
-
LAMBERT OUT
-
4-1, we are such a fucking mess of a club, such a fucking mess
-
It's a horror show.
-
Can't even muster myself to get angry. 1-4.
-
We just don't have any really foundations to how we play. You also get what you pay for by and large. You pay circa £2-3 million for players, this is what you get and, even more depressingly, why they are the only sorts of players we seem to attract these days
We have a lot of specialists, eg Sylla a specialist holding/destroyer, Albrighton a specialist winger. They are not only hopeless at everything else, they are hopeless at what they are in the team for.
And that's 4.
-
4-1 well done Villa, 9 of these players don't deserve to be paid today. Bacuna has been almost as bad as Baker today.
-
One more goal needed for a premier league record for a weekends fixtures, can Stoke get it,it wont be us !
-
I fucking hate their number 10.
-
Not once has Lambert stood up in the dugout today, it's like he knew this would happen
-
this brings me back to reality , why I dont want him
-
Another thrashing from a essentially crap opponent.
Have a good week everyone.
-
What a fucking disgrace.
-
I've not really seen a lot in the last two seasons to make me think Lambert knows his stuff tactically, to put it mildly
I think he's tactically inconsistent as the players are inconsistent. I thought he nailed it last week, and seemed to have this week. He's also played a number of complete 'mares.
-
There is the answer !
-
Terrible defending for all 4 goals. Get Lowton and Clark in at Old Trafford. 1-4 at home to fucking Stoke City. No wonder the stadium was empty after 80 mins.
-
The thing is that it's just not the case that when the team wins it's down to the players and when they lose it's the fault of the manager. However, it's somehow less forgivable when you pull off as good a result as the Chelsea one and fold like this against Stoke than had you simply lost every game. I think Lambert is almost willfully getting this wrong.
-
Right, that's enough for me. Thanks for last week Villa, but I've better things to do. I expect a reaction next time out.
-
LAMBERT OUT
Indeed.
-
I give them all 4/10 today
5 benteke for the goal
6 for albrighton and delph
can I change to 2/10
-
Get to the end of the season and then get fucking rid!
-
Brilliant. And I was saying just yesterday how we've not taken a battering all season, and fucking Real Stoke hand us one. What a complete embarrassment.
-
you couldn't pay me to go to villa park the last two years. garbage.
-
Gabby done his disappearing act again
-
Worst home record ever and losing 4-1 to stoke fucking city!!
Jesus Christ.
-
jesus wept
-
I think I've had enough.
When we get results I almost think it's just luck. I have no faith in his ability to get us playing well with anything like consistency.
-
I'm sorry, but I'll say it again...I do not want Lambert at this club anymore.
-
No chance with a clueless manager totally inept in tactics and in terms of mentality and approach to the game.
Apart from all the rest, Benteke and Holt together are an offence to the logic.
-
Get to the end of the season and then get fucking rid!
He's not going anywhere though is he! We're going to have another summer of buying some shit £2m value players, oh the joys
-
stokes first double on us since 1966 ffs
-
No chance with a clueless manager totally inept in tactics and in terms of mentality and approach to the game.
Spot on, Archie.
-
Stoke keeper makes his first save of the game in the 94th minute, says it all Lambert out !!!!
-
Paul Lambert truly is "The clueless one"
-
I think I've had enough.
When we get results I almost think it's just luck. I have no faith in his ability to get us playing well with anything like consistency.
It is just that, luck. It's a kinda law of averages thing where if we play often enough, we will win the occasional game, especially when we can bothered to raise our game as underdogs against the big boys. That's what it's become for us and is just about our lot in life
-
Get to the end of the season and then get fucking rid!
This. We can't keep making teams like Stoke look like Barcelona on our pitch. Lambert just hasn't got it in him to give us any kind of consistency. Some of the players are bloody awful too. Being good enough at this level is not just about ability, but about consistency too. Some, worryingly, have neither.
-
Utterly ridiculous. From incredibly promising to utter rubbish.
Credit to Stoke, they came with a game plan and executed it in some style. We showed nothing in retaliation after the equaliser.
-
Paul Lambert truly is "The clueless one"
He's thick, I've said it countless times on here and been derided for saying so, but I stand by that assertion...
-
Albrighton was the only one (not for the first time this season) who showed any sort of desire and urgency to push forward. The only player. That's pathetic. He's not good enough to drag the team along single handed either.
-
Post match thread, please
-
It's time to admit it's not working out with Lambert. A nice win last week but these performances are becoming the norm and that really pisses me off.
Our worst ever home record, heaviest ever defeat, constantly going out of the cups to lower league opposition (but especially the two legged defeat to Bradford) are some of the lowest points I've experienced as a Villa fan. He's been worse than Mcleish and there hasn't been any progress at all. Enough is enough and I want him gone.
-
Its essentially the same team that beat Chelsea last week. And We lamented them for it.
Its about attitude, experience and culture.
Stoke have not won here since 1965. Stoke will fight, fight dirty if need be. They didn't have to today.
Get the feeling that our young players will take a game vs the big teams seriously. They sweet and bleed to prove they belong with the best.
When expected to win like vs Stoke and with an early lead, they get lazy and complacent.
They only thing we can blame Lambert for is failing to motivate the players properly.
