I wonder if he'll pick many Villa players?  Laursen, Friedel, A Young and Barry perhaps.

Petrov was on a few weeks ago and made some interesting picks, Dunne and Balde at centre half ahead of Laursen, Mellberg and Cahill surprised me.  No Milner or A Young either.

I can't imagine he'll pick many Stoke or West Ham players.

Before Villa though he played with some brilliant players though - Mendieta, Aimar, Canizares, Deschamps and Marchena at Valencia, Benzema, Fred, Malouda, Diarra, Juninho, Abidal and Coupet at Lyon, Totti, Cassano, Montella, De Rossi, Candela, Samuel, Chivu and Panucci at Roma.

Are you suggesting Harewood might struggle to get into his side then?

Pick your best player and work around him, so it's MFH + 10 others, if he has any sense at all.

Hard to argue that anybody other than Marvelous Marvin should be first on the team sheet.

No Villa players.

We were hardly even discussed despite the presenter saying 'we'll talk Villa in a minute'... erm, still waiting. Him and Merse could have compared notes.

Yeah, was surprised at that. Especially when you consider he spent the best years of his career with us!

Not really on the SKY agenda to talk about Villa.  Much better to talk about ex-Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.  That's what the SKY armchair fans really want to hear.

What was the context? Randomly enough, I caught a bit of the later part featuring Norwich ''fans'' from Indonesia on their first trip to Carrow Road and a segment about the history of the Merlin Sticker albums.

His most informative quote was about the pube haired one often disappearing for three days at a time to go golfing in Spain whilst the players trained back in Bodymoor Heath.

I was gonna get annoyed until I saw Dave's list of the players Carew has played with at his other clubs. It's a little bit different gravy.
I am surprised Laursen wasn't included, or perhaps Ash Young as he and Carew seemed to love playing each other. I'll give Carew the benefit of the doubt though. Francesco Totti is marginally better than MFH or EFH to be fair. ;)

Nah, he loves us.

If you'd watched Football Focus recently you'd know Big John loves our club more than any other he's played for.
