What a night. Never to be forgotten
-
Never a pen on Walters.

Dirty bleeders

Trivia - Their goalie Urruti, died in a car crash in 2001.

Wonderful night. Marred only by the sending off Allan Evans who was suspended for the Juve game a few weeks later. If he'd have played then who knows?
The game was the last truly memorable performance by that squad. I left Villa Park thinking that we were going to successful for years to come. In hindsight how wrong I was.

Withe's forearm smash for the first goal was something
-
My mate threw a scarf I had lent him on the pitch , which Peter Withe wore !

It was one of my most memorable days/nights at Villa Park. The atmosphere was incredible, partly down to Barcelona's 'tactics'. I don't think I have ever seen any footage at all of the first leg.

Exactly what i was thinking. I remember following the away leg on the radio but have no recollection of ever seeing their goal at
the nou camp.

Agreed. They were a dirty team. Much different from the Barca of today. Great night
