Title: The badge man
Post by: Des Little on January 19, 2014, 03:10:36 PM
Mods - please move to a suitable place if you want, but yesterday's drinking bonanza at Anfield has resulted in the loss of yet another small round badge. Any ideas where I can get another one before the next home game? Failing that, does the badge man still tour the pubs before home games? Doesn't feel right not wearing one to the game!

I've seen him in the Aston Social recently.

He goes in Swan & Mitre most home games but after the game he is by his car on the left hand side of the road just before you get to the Adventurers.

The bloke opposite where Dave sells his supply of H&V has plenty of badges.

He is regularly in the Social before games. He usually does his rounds and then has a drink with his mate in the smaller room.

Really small round badge. Must have lost half a dozen over the years! Cheers for the leads folks - will look out for him in the Social before the Boggies game

I lost my "keep the faith" Northern Soul Villa badge at Fulham, gutted, came home and realised I couldn't find my round 80's badge. Badge less for Everton, not a bad thing as I'm with Everton fans all day.

It sounds like a dodgy street corner slogan. Depending on who you ask you either end up with a drugs substance or a very accommodating lad called Billy.

The badge man who goes in the swan and mitre does not do midweek games as he travels down from Sheffield unsure whether he is the same one who goes to the social

Ha ha - I mean it's the only round badge worth having. Our real badge stroke crest. You know what I'm saying I'm sure..!

You can get those on EBay Des.

Where at this point of time a very rare Peter McParland star badge is up for auction. £50 at the moment with a day left!

Looks like a very poor badge which is being trumped up by stooges. I have seen those sad individuals getting pictures signed outside the ground. Best thing I heard was Roy Keane telling them to f*** off because he knew where the items would end up.

Bit confused DC5. The Peter McParland  badge could be a fake? I have an original from the fifties and will compare them later on today. But initally they look the same...I think.

Some people are so rude.

All I did was to ask him to sign my copy of Alex Ferguson's autobiography.

I am sure it is original but the bidding looked suspicious to me. The rest that I put about pictures was because people are making a living out of selling pictures, signed 50 years after they were taken, by hounding people at Villa Park. They make out that they are collectors but are flogging the stuff.

Yes the bidding looks a little iffy. The vendor also has one of Gerry Hitchens. The initial bid on each was £19.95!

I would never let my badge go no matter what offer I received. To me it means more than my house.

At 7PM The bidding for each badge is £50 and both have seven bids.....mmmmm!
