Great skill from Mark Walters for the goal.

Have to say that I always like Ogrizovic, very underrated keeper.

Evans,Gibson,Williams,Sid,Bremner,Walters,Withe,McMahon. Turner did a great job fucking that team up.

For a good businessman Doug didn't exactly drive a hard bargain when it came to selling Rimmer, Swain, Williams, Gibson, McNaught, Mortimer, Bremner, Withe and Morley. Even taking into account age, contracts and transfer fees at the time.

I went to this game when I was 12, I don't recall it being on MOTD.  Our glory days were well and truly behind us by now, after all we lost our next home game 5-0 to Forest, and despite the managerial change I don't believe we brought in any new players during that summer.
Also, only just short of 21,000 for the first game of the season which was a sign of the times, mind you it didn't look so bad with terraces and normal wooden seats, the ground would look virtually empty now.
I didn't know at that time either how much Coventry hated us, it wasn't until about the late 80s after they won the FA cup when I picked up on that.
