Title: Home game against The Baggies moved
Post by: Villafirst on December 05, 2013, 05:42:53 PM
Match to be played on Wednesday 29th January, 2014 against WBA on police advice to avoid ''clashing'' with a Blues game the night before. I prefer us to play midweek home matches on a Wednesday night.

Blues game the night before? Do the police think our fans are going to go on a 24 hour bender prior to the game?

It was due to be on Tuesday and it's been moved because of the clash.

you'd have thought the police could have handled the 1500 or so attendance at the Sty that evening and kept the game on Tuesday.

I booked the night off work for the Albion match just the other day. Shit!

I'm sure your boss will let you change it back.

Sadly I'm working for a right knob. He went back on a promise to let me leave early for the Albion game last week which left me £39 out of pocket.
Oh and he's an Albion season ticket holder. They're really not my favourite club at the moment.

I've got Wednesdays off at uni so was sort of hoping for a relaxing day to soak in victory but instead it looks like it's pre-game drinking starting at 3 down the pub.

Happy with this change. It's the Fourth Round of the Cup the weekend before and if we are both still in you can guarantee we'll play a full side while they'll surrender and play the reserves like they always do in the cups. So an extra day to recover can't do us harm.

Hopefully the change is made with sufficient notice that not too many should be inconvenienced.

Pleased with the new date as I would not have been able to go in the Tuesday - Italian class!

I'm really pleased about this. I don't have to chose between it and my Spanish lessons now.

Why disrupt the plans of 40,000 people and move our game when they could have disrupted what 8,000-10,000 people by moving their game?

They should have moved their game to a noon kick off and saved them the floodlights bill.

Wednesdays are better for football than Tuesdays anyway, I hate having to go to work after a match and still having over half the working week to go.

They could all go for a McDonalds instead, it's only down the road. Sure there is plenty of room to fit them in.

How they think that 10 Blues fans in attendance at their match is going to cause severe pressure on the police is anyones guess.

Exactly! A Monday night game is purgatory.

I reckon Small Heath requested our game be changed. They were worried we would attract more of their fans than they would since they are more interested in us than their own club.

Why is anyone not learning Mandarin? The resistance will need spies.
