Let me know if you want this list on here each week, and if it should go on this forum twice - one thread where people can state the results with "spoilers" - and one where they can't for those who want to watch the games without knowing the results
(e.g. the 1977 FA quarter-final against Man Utd was on recently and I doubt that all fans would know the actual score)
Sunday night
Aston Villa v Birmingham City 2002/3, Sky Sports 2, 3:45am - Old game
Mon
Aston Villa v Liverpool 2001/2, LFC TV, 6:15pm. Premier League - the Reds travelled to face Aston Villa
Tuesday
Man Utd v Aston Villa 2009/10, MUTV, 2:30pm. Old Premier League encounter
As I say it is worth me putting the list of old games on TV on here each week? Usually there are 3 or 4 or so

Hands up who has MUTV?

Yes please. Love the old games
Re Man Utd fa cup, seem to recall we were 1 up but lost. 2-1. I was playing subutteo on the dining room carpet listening to Tony Butler. Strange what you remember 36 years ago but cant recall what you did yesterday!

More to the point, who knew there was an LFC TV?!
-
Does anyone really want to sit through that Blues game again?
-
Without giving away the results for those who don't recall them, I think there is no way anyone would want to watch the first two, particularly the first one. The last one, knowing the result, I am amazed it would be shown on MUTV.
-
Use the 'spoiler' facility to hide results.

Like this!

The Man U game is the League Cup Final of 2010, not a league game. I think I'll pass on the opportunity to subscribe to MUTV to watch that again.

Me. It used to be on Freeview, I watched our reserves on it once. I also watched the full match replay of the League Cup game when they got knocked out at home by Northampton. Which was nice.
Does anyone remember "The Villain" radio station?

It's free on Cable TV. (You may have to have XL package) I've always managed to bypass it somehow.
-
Just remembered I won't be able to stay up late to watch that game against Small Heath as I'm busy having my eyes removed with rusty nails.

Phil Dowd is still spending the tips he received at the end of that (allegedly!)

Worth watching the first one just to remind yourself that however bad things might be at the moment, they could always be much, much worse.
Oh, and also to remind yourself of why no one should ever want that lot in the same division as us ever again.
-
Do not watch MUTV or LFC TV as you are contributing to greed if you do.

Was our goal a long range shot from Brian Little ?

It was indeed. And it was quite good too.

Little's goal was a cracker, and after just a couple of minutes. We were unlucky to not get at least a draw in the game. It came at the end of a week that saw us draw twice against Everton in the league cup final, at Wembley then the replay at Hillsborough. Ironically it was only against United (in a game we lost) that we showed our real form, and sadly there were a only a few hundred of us there to see it.
