My first and only season ticket this season. Great memories of this plus good to see a lot of the other Boxing Day Games. I think 1991-92 gets glossed over a lot by what happened the following season but we really did play some beautiful stuff and score some great goals that season with Yorke, Regis and Daley in particular red hot that season (despite the poor spell in front of goal that we had at one point in early 1992). This was also the season where we won 3-2 at Sheff Weds, 5-2 at Tottenham after having been 2-0 down, and 1-0 at home vs Liverpool when Grobelaar dived over Tony Daley's shot to let our Tone score a flukey one. Look out for future villans Dean Saunders and Tommy Johnson in other colours.

Eamonn, your location intrigues me, is it because you preferred those days? My late brother missed 4 games in two seasons of old third division, but watched 2 games the season we won the league. When I saw West Hamboxing day, I immediately thought of 1975 for sir Dennis Mortimers debut in 4-1 win

The run lasted eleven games but now way could it have ever been as bad as last season's winter sequence. We still looked a competent team compared to the joke that we were last Christmas and were always attractive to watch even when we couldn't stick the ball in the net. This was a common feature under BFR no matter how well we'd done in any of his seasons. As much as we won a lot of matches at times and scored some magnificent goals there were always times when we looked like we couldn't burst a balloon with a sharp pin.
Anyway, I just looked at the stats to remember how bad the run was - 1 win, 5 draws, 5 defeats but no defeat was by a higher score than 2-0. We scored the one goal in that run of eleven games, a 1-0 win over Oldham at home. We had commendable 0-0 draws away at Arsenal, Leeds (who won that seasons title). We unluckily lost 1-0 to Wednesday at home in the infamous game where their goal clearly never went over the line yet the ref, George Cotton or something like that, gave it. Even the commentator said he couldn't believe it was given. Remember Les Sealey going ape shit over this decision. Thrown in there was the usual defeat away at Man United.
However we bounced back out of that to win 5 of the last 8 games and scoring 13 goals, smashing Spurs and Chelsea (when they were still their usual insignificant selves), we beat Liverpool in tight but entertaining game and then went on to stuff Coventry 2-0 in the final home game when we thought for a short while we'd actually relegated them. Remember either Regis or Yorkie scoring in the first minute or two.
After the dreadful 90-91 season 91-92 was a refreshing and entertaining breath of fresh air. Some great performances at home that year too - 3-1 vs Forest (when Yorkie scored THAT goal), 3-1 vs Arsenal, 3-1 vs City, 4-0 vs Luton. We were also unlucky - very unlucky - to lose 1-0 at home to Man Utd. Some things never change!

Strange how that run of goal less games only occurred in the league. At the same time we were managed to score at ease in the cup winning games against Spurs, Swindon and Derby. I remember that away win at Spurs as one of the most complete away performances we've ever given. 1-0 but should have been 5-6. A bit like the win at Arsenal when we actually won the cup 2-3 seasons later.

I don't remember that goalless run being that grim. I think we always felt it would end sooner rather than later. Plus we were in the top half of the league as opposed to the previous season's relegation battle. Cyrille Regis had a good season for us and scored a few goals that year.

I think that was the only game I missed that season. I was at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert.
