Not sure if this is the right area to post this but anybody think these faces are familiar? Really hope they find them.

Police are hunting two Aston Villa fans who brutally assaulted a fellow claret and blue supporter – who then fell onto potentially deadly railway tracks.
The victim, 48, remains in hospital 12 days after being set upon on the platform at Aston railway station.
Thugs struck at around 8.30pm on Saturday, September 14, hours after Villa had lost at home to Newcastle.
The victim, from Walsall, suffered injuries to his ribs, head and face and remains in hospital but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
Detective Constable Simon Taylor, of British Transport Police, said: “The victim, who was on the Walsall-bound platform at Aston station, became involved in some banter with two men on the Birmingham-bound platform.
“It’s believed that all three men were Aston Villa fans who were returning home after the club’s home fixture earlier in the day.
“For reasons unknown at this time, the banter escalated which resulted in the two men launching a violent assault on the victim, kicking him in the head and raining a number of blows to his body, causing him to fall from the platform onto the railway tracks.
“This was a particularly nasty and violent attack which caused the victim to be hospitalised. It’s only a matter of luck that a train wasn’t coming into the station before he was helped from the tracks.”
DC Taylor added: “Inquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible, including viewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses.
“If you know the men in these photographs, or their current whereabouts, please call British Transport Police straight away.
“Similarly, if you witnessed the assault, and have not yet spoken to the police, I would urge you to contact BTP immediately as your information could be vital to this investigation.”

That's absolutely horrible. Fucking vile human beings who are an embarrassment to the club.
-
hope they get what's coming to them, the cowards.
hope the fella keeps going after he has recovered, as it would be a shame that they would of put him off going down the Villa..
-
First ive heard about this- shameful behaviour and lets hope they are caught.
Best wishes to the injured chap too.

"For reasons unknown at this time, the banter escalated"
Probably better to judge after we know full details. Horrible thing to do. But something may have pushed them over the edge..
-
I don't know what the world is coming to
-
Silly question possibly, but how do they know they are Villa fans? Regardless, hope they find the fuckers.
-
Maybe due to the 'banter' they had before the attack?
-
I don't know what the world is coming to
Its never changed Phil,I hate things like this, animals like that can fook off and start supporting someone else,we dont need them.Sincerley hope the police catch them.

Been arrested .

Terrible thing to happen I hope he recovers.

That is the train I use for VP, and it must be said that there is no shortage of right naughty geezers from points south west of our metropolis. I blame Kevin Turvey, myself.

Violence is never acceptable, no matter what the provocation

Indeed, whatever was or wasn't said can be no excuse for such violence .

Fair comment. Is provocation not taken into account in law?
-
Probably best to lock this down for the family and for legal reasons.

There isn't a tariff whereby you can inflict violence on someone depending on the severity of whatever they might have said to you. What kind of person has so little self-control that words are enough to provoke them into hospitalising someone? Far be it from me to answer my own question but 'a pinhead' probably sums it up.
It's as absurd as kids stabbing each other 'because he looked at me funny'. For fuck's sake.

We know nothing. They could know each other and there might be previous between them and this "banter" might have a bit more to it.
It may just be a cowardly act, but until full facts are known its better to leave it to the police.

The perils of 'bants' laid bare.

It was just a question on a point of law. What about if he threatened them? Wouldn't that be taken into account?

Ps the fella on the right is a regular, no idea who he is but a regular.

Provocation used to be a partial defence to murder only, reducing it to manslaughter if successful. It's now called 'loss of self control':

It's not easy

In't it "bantz"?

Glad to say it was one of my oldest pals that helped the bloke out after it happened.

I don't know about others, but I genuinely don't think I could actually kick another person in the head. I just couldn't do it and can't even begin to understand what makes someone able to do that.
It's like when you hear about people getting their head stamped on in a fight.
How on earth can someone bring themselves to do that to another person?

it is very difficult Paulie, many years ago and I am not famed for being at all aggressive, I was in a curry house when I was "started on" over how to split the bill......stupid really but the lad who had joined us was a notorious tight arse and I said something to him about this. not rude or in anyway agressive.
He "offered" me outside which I really did not want to do as he was bigger and younger than me, but outside we went....
we are standing in the middle of the road with a crowd around us and he steams in so I punched him once as hard as I could which rocked him back, he then came and hit me a couple of times so I threw another and that connected too......he drops to the floor and I instinctively kicked him... i am not proud of it but once my adrenalin was flowing I could not help myself.....punching each other although not great I found exceptable but I was so ashamed of kicking him I actually went looking for him the following day to apologise which I did and he accepted to my suprise.
funny enough we played football together awhile later and actually got on ok.
so my 3 fight career lasted over 45 years...consisting of one apology, one knock out and a drubbing by three lads walking home one night.... :)

Another case of people with tiny penises, trying to show their masculinity by acting like cowards.
Idiots.

I've been beaten up a few times for mouthing off. Can't say I've ever minded too much,
The funniest time was when I was with a red-haired Irish Catholic boxer and we got into a discussion about racism when he said he thought the MOBO awards were racist. We were in the Catholic Club, both pissed, and to cut a long story short the debate developed and came to a head when I said Jesus was black. 'How do you work that out?' he said and, pointing to a picture of Our Saviour on the wall, I said that considering where he was born and what everybody else round there looked like, if he came out with blonde hair and blue eyes like that picture, it's no wonder his mom was coming out with all sorts of bullshit about who the father was.
And then he chinned me.
I was philosophical about it, and when I was younger like I say I didn't mind getting beaten up so much, part of growing up innit? I'd hate it now I'm old though, so I'm trying harder to keep my trap shut.
-
Fortunately I've never been beaten up and never beaten anyone up or come anywhere close to a fight , so at the age of 48 i hope that remains to be the case .

Its a violent world unfortunately and getting beaten up or beating someone up was definitely part of growing up for me. I'm not saying this in any macho way at all, that's just the way it was. In fact when i meet other people who didn't grow up like this I'm always baffled as it amazes me that people led nice, civilized lives. Horrible really

My thoughts exactly LV. I know your background and family and you know something of mine. Our mom and dad were born in 1921 and 1911 respectively, in Selly Oak and Balsall Heath. Our mom's entire immediate family except her were dead from TB or war by the time she was 19. 'Peaky Blinders' was their world, that's one generation ago for me and lots of working class people.
I'm surprised people are surprised that we haven't become a nation of Renaissance men over the last few decades.

Yeah, though I say so myself I thought it was really funny. That must have been ten/fifteen years ago, but coincidentally I saw him the other day. We were pissed again, and I reminded him of the entire conversation.
'Don't do it again' he said, glaring at me. 'But doncha think it was funny though?' I said.
'You're doing it again' he said, so I kinda left it. Then he told me a really heart-warming story that had caused him to re-think his attitude to race and racism and we kind of bonded. Just goes to show that people are not complete pinheads or completely perfect, they're just shaped by their experience and their environment.

Fair enough, but even so, I had assumed you were about my age (i.e. born mid 60s), that's one feisty old fella right there.

Yes, he was 52 when I was born (Mom 43). I had my latest and last (hopefully!) addition when I was 48.

It's easy enough to set up, just don't say it to a Catholic boxer in a Catholic Community Centre.

Funny! From both of you.
I got 'done over' when I was about 15, walking home in a crombie and oxford bags. Some 'leather-clad youths' didn't like my clothing choice and decided to rearrange my face.
Happy days, the 1970's.

At around the same age as you, I was walking along in Chelmsley in my first crombie. Some kid said 'My grandad's got a coat like that'. If you're going to the trouble of wearing a crombie in the first place, I think you're trying to convey the idea that you don't let random normal people take the piss out of you, so I ran over and hit him. I left it at that because there were two of them and they didn't run off as I'd expected. Gulp.

Just an update on this matter,
the 'victim' was on the opposite platform to the 'attackers'. He ran across the track without looking to attack the so called 'attackers'.
the victim was discharged from hospital the same night but then went back for observation.
One of the 'attackers' stood trial earlier this week and 12 jurors unanimously found him not guilty.
