"Villa finished runners-up to Manchester United after running out of steam during the end-of-season run-in, which was as close as they have ever come to winning football's highest domestic honour."
Admittedly it doesn't take much but my piss is boiling.

It's ok, as Barcelona and Milan haven't won it yet either. Those giants of the game, Chelsea and Blackburn, have though.
-
How do I complain to them?

You might as well write to me for all the good it will do....
-
What a cock-eyed load of shite that is.
But then so what? If there are people out there who will read that comment and not go "what the fuck are they on about?" then the chances are, they're bandwaggon jumpers and I would rather be a Bluenose than mix with their ilk.

To be fair Villa have never won the premier league, they won division 1

but Villa have won "football's highest domestic honour"

Both of them 7 times.
but Villa have won "football's highest domestic honour"
-
Meh, who cares. All real football fans will know that is utter pish.
-
We have won English football's highest domestic honour and the biggest honour in world club football (admittedly a few South Americans might disagree with me there). Just because they changed the name of both doesn't alter those facts. We were also champions of Europe when you firstly had to be champions of England to qualify and secondly every other team you played were league champions. And while I'm on a rant roll I will say I think the Premier League trophy looks cheap and tacky compared to the old league championship trophy. After seeing Dennis Mortimer holding it up it never seems right to see it being waved around by the winners of the second division.

Really? They use the old First Division trophy for today's second-level winners?
-
yes >:(

Yes. I was so, so pleased and relieved that when Small Heath were promoted a few years ago they were pipped to the title on the last day. The idea of them with that trophy for finishing 21st in the country was unpalatable to say the least.

We also won them at a time when money didn't totally dominant the sport in the way it does today.

Where's Tom from Father Ted when I need him.

Admittedly it doesn't take much but my piss is boiling.
The sentence before says "but it was his first campaign, during which he scored 13 goals for Villa, that almost rewarded his move with the Barclays Premier League title." So in that context, what they say is right, we've never won the Premier League title since it's been called that.

It was FA Premier League (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League#Sponsorship) back then so he couldn't have moved to Barclays Premier League.
-
FA Premier League, Barclays Premier League, etc, etc. I think it is also correct to say we never won the Canon League. Or the Milk Cup or the Worthington Cup or the Rumbelows Cup for that matter. I think the point is we have won English football's highest domestic honour. And the League Cup.

and europe's. arsenal haven't though. Just saying...

Wankers!

You see, I struggle with how to react to things like that.
Write them off as the ramblings of some Johnny Come Lately no mark, or get really fucking annoyed about the lack of any research whatsoever before putting it in the public domain.
I have concluded they are a Pod of ****** if that helps to clear it up.

Yes.
I never knew that.

If you want to be seriously, physically ill, google Albion championship trophy images.
-
It's always pissed me off that they use the old trophy for the division 2 winners.
-
The old trophy is quite elegant compared to current bombastic lump.
-
How old is the trophy you get for winning the Football League? I know it's the same one we won in 1981, is it the same one we won in 1910 and even earlier too?
Oh, and as an aside, it annoys me when the Villa programme lists an opponent's honours and lists "First Division Championships" without bothering to qualify which First Division they're on about... which makes it look like Newcastle have been League Champions loads of times.

It doesn't matter, not worth getting worked up about really, I just pass all this shit off these days, the bias towards the Sky 4 makes me fucking sick. I just let it wash over me
-
You let your sick wash over you?
Each to their own.
