Title: Everton away - Milk Cup Semi Final 1st Leg 83/84

Remember going to this as a youngster. Absolutely gutted.

How we didn't get a penalty when Richardson hand balled on the line in the last minute is a mystery to this day.

Post by: Charlie8182 on August 26, 2013, 06:40:35 PM: That 1st goal from Sheedy is as bad as I remembered it from almost 30 years ago, as for Richardson's handball, it still hurts now.

I went to the home leg (a small clip from below) which was too little too late. A big turning point in Villa and Everton's fortunes at that time, I thought until then that we were a better side but we nosedived and they went on to win several trophies over the next few years.

Post by: Damo70 on August 27, 2013, 04:34:29 PM: I was thirteen and missed both legs with measles. I think the home leg was the only home game I missed that season. I loved the home kit that year but didn't like the away kit with the yellow hoops.

Not outside they didn't. 'Some people' I was with asked a group of them where they were from. They responded (in awful cod-Birmingham accents) 'Birmingham'. When asked what part, there was a delay, then one of them said 'Wolverhampton'.

Seeing it wasn't going well, one of them said 'We've got money'. This was gratefully accepted, but sadly didn't buy safe passage.

Merseyside always did have a poor rep among Geography teachers.
