I haven't seen some of those goals since the day I saw them live. Wow.

The pass by Sid to Mortimer at Sunderland nearly made me cry with nostalga. He was some player.

Gary Shaw could bloody finish as well couldn't he.

Wow again

Who was the commentator on the Midlands games?

Dennis Mortimer scored some great goals. My old man always eulogises about him.

Memories, such memories. Those who lived through this period were truly blessed as I don't think we will see anything like the 10-odd years from the rise from the 3rd, the League Cups, Champions and European Cup win again...

As a young kid at the time, the only game I actually went to was the one at St. Andrews. The rest of the time was spent listening to BRMB and watching MOTD and Star Soccer. Apart from Highbury and the last home game, I reckon the home games with Liverpool and Albion and the games at Everton and Leicester looked like ones to be at.

All of this X 10.

I'd never heard the story about the bottle of brandy being passed around before games.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Ron Saunders not accepting the fact that Tony Morley's house had burnt down with all his possessions destroyed as a valid reason for missing training!

I went to a villa night in Bromsgrove about a month ago which had Spink, McNaught and Morley answering questions. Morley spoke fondly of Ron Saunders. Not of Doug Ellis though, certainly not.

I was at Leicester - magic away day.

Both Liverpool and Albion games were great as well.

88th minute, short pass back by Batson in front of the Holte and Withe was in to chip it over the keepers head.

Sheer bliss.

The first season that my Dad got me my own season ticket. How lucky is that ?

Withe's goal against the Baggies at VP was at the North Stand end, not the Holte End. I have that goal recorded in my own collection - don't think it's shown on the DVD?

Could have sworn Withe's goal was at Holte End. The memory plays tricks on you !

It was the Witton - remember that so well.
My Baggie mates said the noise as it hit the net was frightening.
We also saw Brendan Batson down the Greyhound near Stourbridge (I think he lived in Hagley?) a couple of weeks later and made a great fuss of him until he twigged we were Villa. He was pretty cool about it though and we had a decent night with him.
