I'll be amazed if Lampard fails to score.

I think there is no more a sure thing in the next 90 minutes than that. Probably 2, 1 a penalty, with lots of sky pointing, and general whooping from that hideous lot in blue.

Title: Re: Aston Villa vs Chelsea Match Thread
Post by: supertom on May 11, 2013, 01:37:19 PM
So far so good. We've really played well going forward. We're a threat every time we break.
Guzan has been excellent. The midfield 3 excellent. Benteke has been immense. What a fucking player. Sometimes I have to pinch myself watching Tekkey play because he's a truly special player. I don't worry about him being a one season wonder either. I think he's got a lot more in his locker than Demba Ba say, who's struggling now at Chelsea.

I think if we maintain the same tempo and keep at them, we can put this game to bed now. Barring a moment of magic from Mata or Hazard who've both been kept at bay so far, Chelsea will struggle to score.

Defensively, aside from some typically comical moments, we've done well. Particularly the midfielders who've been covering very well. Westy has put in a few really good tackles.

In terms of the red, yep Gabby milked it but Chelsea are the masters of that sort of shit so it's karma baby.

Plus it was a bookable offence anyway. Dunno what Ramires was thinking. First he tries booting Sylla in the face, then moves onto Gabby. You just don't raise your foot, studs up, that high. You're gonna get booked.

As for Gary Cahill. If he keeps defending like this, we might just re-sign him if he's not careful! ;)

If we get a second I'd be tempted to get Benteke off and let Bent see out the game. Don't want to see Tekkers go off and I think JT will really amp up the wind up duties in the second half to try and get it 10 v 10.

That midfield 3 really are great for us aren't they! Sylla takes a little while to get confident in a game, but once he does he is so useful.

Terry could easily have got the second yellow for the hand in Wee mans face at the end of the half, so we need to target falling over near him. A win, with Terry sent off would be just about the perfect day for me!

The Sky team seem to be willing Chavski on to win.

Man Ure and Liverpool cheerleading is understandable to some degree, but what did that despicable club ever do to generate such fawning loyalty from the press?

Good grief man, calm down Ozz.  If Ramirez deserved a second yellow for his challenge on Gabby then CB's got to get one for his challenge on Terry.  Terry didn't cheat to get him sent off any more than Gabby did.

Okay so he's an abject human being but that was established years ago.

The elbow was bad, but just the same as the second, in neither has he looked at the man and put his foot in. Terry he hardly touched, and he rolled around like a seasoned South American. He could easily have been send off first half himself for a hand in Weimans face following the tackle he could have gone for on Sylla. Tekke was brining it down.

They are the most detestable side in the league. No class at all.

yeah but they're irrelevant to this, he could've been given a red earlier, but that doesn't make the high foot he was given the 2nd yellow for more deserving of a booking.
