It just increases my anger and frustration of not bringing in a centre half in January. Absolute madness that could cost tens of millions.
Really, when you have two youngsters as back up to two very injury prone senior players its not a situation any premier league club should find itself in. Especially a big one.

That said, good luck to this very young and fragile back 4. I hope you're more confident than your supporters are.
I hope Arsenal are still struggling mentally because they could quite easily give us a good hiding today.

Post by: KRS on February 23, 2013, 02:39:25 PM
No matter how much I look at that team line up, it looks very attacking going forward but weak as watered down piss when we havent got the ball. Not a single "leader" on the pitch unless you count the increasingly vocal Guzan...who could well have a man of the match performance or be spending most of the game picking the ball from the back of his net...or worse still...both.

Reading the above makes me think we are more than just a little bit fecked.
Only thing that will get us anything out of this game is to play it like we are the plucky underdogs enjoying a day out with the 'BIG BOYS'  and pull off a freak FA Cup type result.
Welcome to small time Villa...

Afternoon folks. Just got in, what's the score and how we playing?

Spent 5 minutes at the start watching them pass the ball round, conceded a sloppy weak, hallmark goal. Since we've shaded it and created a few chances, that said we don't exactly inspire confidence at the back..

Gabby's gone close a couple of times.

Had enough of the ball but we still look pretty clueless with it going forward, Weimann and Gabby's running means we're always in with a chance away from home but it's pretty disjointed stuff so far.

I started watching after 20 min gone and it's been Pretty even - was surprised we're a goal down. Fairly open game so far too with a few chances for both sides.

Could've had a penalty after bentekes saved chance too, although unsurprisingly not much was made of it by the commentators. Looked a push to me.

Wigan winning is better than Reading winning though I think. Norwich losing to Everton would be good.

it must be a killer as a manager to watch your team spurn so many chances. I know he has to be held accountable for a lot of things but if you think back to so many games this season where we simply haven't taken really good chances, we would't be where we are, and likely playing in a cup final this weekend.

Title: Re: Arsenal v Aston Villa Match Thread

Our players are thick as pig shit. Every single ball Arsenal have dinked into the channels they've had a player in about 500 square yards of space, no defenders moving acros to cover, no midfielders tracking the man back. It's League 2 standard defending. In fact, that's an insult to League 2 teams.

You cannot expect to defend on your 6 yard box for half an hour and not concede. Poor poor tactics. The goals we have let in in the first 10 and last 10 will send us down.

Since MON - i wish!!, we`ve given away vital goals late on since Gods dog was a pup, ever since i`ve actively followed Villa (early `70s) weve done it, thus it ever fucking was.
