"To date Aston Villa have not done anything to please their followers. The team is considered ill balanced and prone to over-elaboration and we cannot recall ever having seen Villa players give a more invertebrate and purposeless exhibition. With all the money they can command they do not seem able to obtain a team capable of winning matches. Aston Villa is now little more than a name and the all conquering club of old has come down to the level of respectable mediocrity."

Impossible, it says we've achieved 'respectable mediocrity'. We're currently nowhere near being that good.
