Oh, just fuck off.
-
Did he really say "we just need a bit of luck"?
I support Lambert, but I can barely articulate how much that support is being stretched at the moment.
-
As I've said before I'd like someone to question him on that. How exactly are we doing that? we lose virtually every week and we will go down. We don't ever pick ourselves up. Fuck off.
-
My god he has lost it.
-
He shouldn't be sacked, because any money we have should be spent on players.
No, he should resign.
-
Tues if we lose...we are down. We are going to the Championship.
-
Please tell me me didn't say it again?
-
The bloke's a laughing stock. You can be disliked or even hated, but once you're a figure of ridicule the game is up.
-
in the last month i haven't been able to pick myself up and i certainly won't be going again as long as he's in charge
-
I honestly can't believe this is the same bloke who was at Norwich last season, he can fcuk off back there with what he is producing at the moment anyway.
-
We will get it right eventually Paul. True.
Only problem is it might be too late, ever thought of that?
-
Take that phrase and shove it up your arse.

Anyone else thinking in terms of biblical epic?
substitute Villa for Egypt
Mon as the vengeful god.
Lambert is like the bunch of locusts sent to destroy us.

Remember the last game of last season ....

Lambert is like the bunch of locusts sent to destroy us.
It's probably time to stop drinking now.
-
I'd even rather hear dolly and his honest bunch of lads crap. It's that bad. Try a new one Paul: "I resign".
-

That's great! I'm pinching that.

Delia must be rubbing her hands with glee at the compo she got out of Villa.
We should counter-sue under the trade descriptions act.

Your right I tried cooking her cottage Pie,It was shite.
-
He knows he's botched it big style. He must know.
-
It's a wonder that reporters even bother to interview him anymore.
The same phrases, the same thousand-yard stare. Just repeat the same one each week.
-
One shot on target sound half and we need luck!? Luck in which sense? The sense Bannan suddenly actually turns into messi? Or Clark turns into cannavaro?
Joke
-
He knows he's botched it big style. He must know.
Dropping Bent could yet haunt him....I think it was too big a decision to make so soon. It put a lot of pressure on him and the younger players.
-
He's not gonna resign. He's followed Lerner's plans to the letter, so we have to hope Lerner decides he's the sacrificial lambchop to take the heat off him. We need a personality in with a bit of standing in the game who can tell Lerner to sling his hook if need be and we may just stay up. As i keep saying you don't need to be a managerial great to organise a defence.
-
Admitting that we need luck to win is effectively admitting there's nothing else you can do. And that means it's time to let someone else have a go.
-
Newcastle get extra time off of course . Not that it makes any difference.
and I heard him say we need some luck
-
Admitting that we need luck to win is effectively admitting there's nothing else you can do. And that means it's time to let someone else have a go.
Indeed because it's patently obvious that there are things that can be done.
-

We're totally doomed.
The club is absolutely rotten to the core, it is an utter, utter shambles. Meanwhile, Randy is sat 3,000 miles away, totally fucking oblivious to it all.
-
Did he really say "we just need a bit of luck"?
I support Lambert, but I can barely articulate how much that support is being stretched at the moment.
I don't think you do support him really, you've just backed yourself into a corner. He's a dismal excuse for a manager, just about anybody with a Uefa coaching badge would do better.
-

To be fair though, Weimann and Benteke have been the two brightest spots for us this season.

Lost for words now. The next four months are going to be painful.

Ryan Giggs as player manager.

It's now irrelevant what he says.

Been like that since West Ham away

Pick yourself up and go - as far away as fukkin possible!

With all due respect, why don't you just fuck off, I've argued my case with Lambert enough to have to put up with you and that "backed into a corner" bullshit.
The last thing I want to hear is you with your tedious fucking perma-rage.
-
I'd go with SGT. He wouldn't be able to resist, be a massive lift for everyone and being totally non-dependant on Lerner he wouldn't follow the party line like Lambert. He can also organise a defence and would soon sort out the wasters and scare the shit out of the kids. Lambert has no authority at all and the charisma of a lampost. Chances of Lerner employing SGT - virtually zero. He'll look for another yes-man

What Lambert says is right. We do keep going pick our selves up for the next game. That's the same for the fans we dont give up the passion. The next game is always the most important game, i mean thats the one you can do something about. It is that cliche one game at a time. The cup games are over now lets move on. What good is it that we make our selves suffer those disgraceful losses but hey so what! We keep going. We re a massive club so lets keep it that way UTV

Perma-rage is certainly not the type of word you wanna get banned for, for starters I don't know what it means.

My lad is priming himself to give the biggest rant of his Villa-supporting career on Tuesday.
I shall support him fully as we are dragged frothing from the ground as we concede another goal from a corner.
My last uber-rant was the Leicester City defeat in the League Cup when I watched the hapless, and rather marvellous, Olof Mellberg play as an attacking RB.
As we sit in an increasing empty Trinity stand I now punctuate my foetal crouched position by lurching to my feet and yawping incomprehensibly as we administer another dose of individual and collective ineptitude on the pitch.
On Tuesday my mate Dave was reduced to roaring gutturally periodically in disbelief.
The fans pick themselves up and go again you gormless twat - and we will be going when you and you shower of malifluous pestilence have upped sticks and fucked off.
Thank you and ggod night brothers and sisters

I agree. Lambert keeps saying what he says, he shows no panic, he gives the media nothing to feed off, he just repeats his, "We keep going..." mantra. I genuinely have no problem at all with that.
-
Malifluous pestilance. Love it.
-
Sorry Pauli, I'm just too pissed off for words, and there's no dog to kick!
-
Fernando, I admire your optimism I really do.
We'll all be there Tuesday no doubt.
I just don't think many people, feel like picking themselves up right now.
Also its just a lazy throw away line. Lambert should talk about the game, talk about a new approach,
for pity's sake he should lie if that's what it takes.
Talk up the returning Dunne as if he's the second coming of Mcgrath.
But honestly how, is "we go again" going to raise the masses, rally troops, put fire in bellies?
It isn't.
It will just grate as much as that "honest bunch of lads" claptrap O'leary used to spout.
-
Fernando, I admire your optimism I really do.

I bet I could name one person who will NOT be there ?
-
The worst thing is, you set yourself a target in the near future, and think, "that's where we can put in a performance, and turn things around", and it doesn't happen.
That'd be bad enough, but not only does it not happen, it actually gets worse.
That's the absolute killer in all this - whoever you blame, whatever your stance on the manager or the chairman - it keeps on getting worse, and there is genuinely nothing to be seen that makes you think "that'll improve things".
-
I really thought January would be the making of us. Guess that's why I pay to watch football rather than earn from it.

It kind of has been, just not in the way I wanted.

Can see the proverbial shit hitting the fan on Tues as Newcastle end their barren run against our hapless bunch of no hopers. Really looking forward to it. :(

The slide needs to stop and it has now passed the stage of a few signings giving us a lift. It has got to the point where it will never work
for Paul Lambert at our club. The slide is now terminal and it is time to go and any new manager would at the very least give the club a lift.

Thats the damming aspect for me. Any club with any sort of connection with the club's supporters would know his continual use of the same phrases was pissing people off and had a word. Sorry Lambchop but using the phrase "go again" doesn't make you sound determined or resolute. It just sounds like you're not learning from your mistakes and will just keep doing the same things over and over again in the hope they'll finally work.
-
And here for a perfect hat-trick.
Paul Lambert said Villa will "take their medicine and go again" after his side's FA Cup defeat at the hands of Millwall.
Villa took the lead through Darren Bent before Danny Shittu headed the home side level before the break.
John Marquis put the London Lions into round five with just two minutes remaining.
But Lambert insisted there was no time for the team to feel sorry for themselves.
Lambert said: "It's not great, but you have to keep going.
"You take your medicine, pick yourself up and go again. There's no way you can lie down.
"I don't think we deserved to lose it, I didn't see that coming.
"We went 1-0 and conceded a goal from a corner again. It's individual errors that are hurting us at the minute.
"You've got to live with that, you've got to be prepared to be hurt in the penalty box.
"It's not been great but we had a lot of the ball. It's a game I thought neither team was going to win and I thought it was going to a replay."
Lambert felt his side bossed the game but he was frustrated to see yet another set-piece goal come into play during the match.
He added: "I was worried how they were going to react after the other night but they went and took the ball and gave it another go.
"But you can't defend set-pieces like that.
"We bossed it really, with the possession. It's individual errors that are costing us on set-pieces and the second goal was just a crossed ball and we should deal with that.
"I thought we showed grit. I thought we dominated the game and I never thought either team looked as if they were going to win it towards the end."
Lambert rested Christian Benteke and kept Gabby Agbonlahor on the bench with one eye on the big Barclays Premier League clash with Newcastle on Tuesday.
He added: "The lads have played a hell of a lot of games and we've not got the biggest of squads. You have to watch what you're doing.
"You can't make too many changes but the Premier League is the most important thing."
Lambert faces an anxious wait to see the extent of Fabian Delph's injury, after the midfielder limped off in the first-half.
-
Bloody hell, how much medicine does he want the players to take. They'll all be entering the field of play dosed up to the nines looking like a bunch of drowsy uncoordinated lost schoolboys...
-
What do you do for the best - keep watching or turn away? One salves the conscience, one keeps the sanity intact. We can't all offer both.
-
time for him to go
-
As we got on the coach I said if he says that phrase again I'd take it and shove it up his where the sun doesn't shine.
Sure enough, while waiting to get out of the compound we're listening to his post match comment and ........................

It has become as infuriating as O'Leary's "honest bunch of lads" line.
-
Absolutely. Grrrrr
-
Somebody should mix a dance track of it. Autotune Lambert saying 'we pick ourselves up and we go again' over and over with a decent beat in the background.
-
If I pick up the paper tomorrow and see Big Ron has been appointed as Manager, I will be delighted. I won't be able to pick myself up and go again if Di Matteo comes here.
-
in the last month i haven't been able to pick myself up and i certainly won't be going again as long as he's in charge
Be careful. You'll get nasty bowel issues. We all have to go again. I think that's what he means. Once we've crapped ourselves in a game once, we'll go again ...he should of course add a thank you to that.... "we'll go again thank you" and perhaps add in some sort of gesticulation of sitting on a latrine for additional comedic effect (perhaps at a push an "ohh missus ' wouldn't go amiss)...quite frankly he might as well add on a pair of comedy glasses and nose for all the good it'll do to prevent relegation from this sort of one dimensional motivation, but at least I'd feel we were getting value for money from the surreal nature of it all.
-

Time to have a quick chat with Lance perhaps...?
-
Lambchoker go again but first try to learn from the mistakes of the last game and in our case, the last god knows how many games. It seems that is all we are doing at the moment, we go again, but we do fcuk all between going again to get it right.
-
Ive got a theory here,so please bear with me.An earlier poster mentioned PLs behaviour, you know the 1000 yard stare, not really caring enough about your job to do anything about the catastrophy happening around, the stock one liners to cover your every balls up etc.I reminds me of my own behaviour when me and my first wife split up.I wonder if he is going through some sort of personal hardship?
-
He really has got to stop saying that infuriating phrase - it works after 2 bad results and doesn't thereafter.
Like some punch drunk boxer having 'one more fight' to hit the big time

That's a very good analogy Rob, not least because that's exactly what he sounds like in interviews.

Can not believe he just said twice on sky that we dominated the game - they had 12 attempts to our 3 - he will probably tell lerner the same bollocks too .
He cannot seriously believe this shit? All this " we'll be fine " , " we wont go down" stuff is crazy.
-
He should change it to '' we go again and get beat''
-
He should change it to '' we go again and get beat''
Is that a joke?
-
The problem seems to be that football is nothing like real life. If I do not perform at work it is pointed out to me in supervision, a plan to overcome the issues agreed and a time-scale put in place. It is then reviewed. If I have not changed the behaviour/outcome/whatever I am put on increased supervision/retrained/replaced by someone who can do it until I come up to speed. If nothing changes I may be re-deployed into a less demanding job or sacked. None of these seems to happen at any level in football.
Defender cannot defend headers from corners. Give them a month of intensive practice and then review in match.
Still cannot defend headers at corners. Replace with someone else or buy in specialist expertise. Continue training.
Review away from competitive arena and. if no change, get rid.
If improved then allow to challenge for place.
-
And again,and again,and again,and again,and again,and again,and again ad infi-fucking-nitum.

Lambert's Against The Again hits list:
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake (this song totally sums me up)
Hello Again - The Cars (I love Lionel Richie's Hello but I think it is lacking something)
Alone Again Or - Love (I've been listening to this since Rafa passed me a burnt CD of the Love album after the Chelsea game)
Why (Can't You Love Me Again) -The Beatles/Tony Sheridan (I want the fans to love me like when we have demolished the fat Spanish waiter's ex team)
Never Let Me Down Again - Depeche Mode (my plea to the lads and the fans' plea to me, is a slow grower of a song)
Never Going Back Again -Fleetwood Mac (but I did, awful results one after another)
Home Again - Carole King (home is a safe haven, no one will bug me)
Do It Again - Nada Surf (my street cred song)
Hunt Again - Mission Of Burma (Lerner gave me a mp3 of this song, wonder is that a hidden message somewhere?)
-
Hard to believe in this media obsessed world that 1) he obviously hasn't had proper media training and 2) someone in the media dept hasn't pointed out that he's REALLY annoying the fans with that phrase and making himself sound like a cock. But then they also let him answer the question of why we'll stay up with 'I just think we will'.
-
The real crying shame is I can hardly understand a thing he says in interviews except for that one thing. Reminds me of the occasional pissed up Scottish tramp you encounter on the underground, mumbling away to himself before having an argument with a lamp post.

Lambert's Against The Again hits list:
Here I Go Again - Whitesnake (this song totally sums me up)

Did you consider Bee Gees 'You Win Again'?.. Nah, didn't think so

Whatever you think of Dodgy 'Arry, he's made it plain what he thinks of the players who let him down against MK Dons. About time Lambchop started naming and shaming instead of the usual cock he comes out with post match.

He wants those players off the books though, they don't figure in league games but he's got a big squad so needs to move them on. I doubt he's too bothered about the cup, he needs to try to stay in the league. One way of helping a player out of the door is to piss him off in public, it's what he did with Bent.

Don't we want some of ours off the books? Admittedly we have less room to manouver money wise but coming out with a few home truths couldn't make things any worse could it. We've got quite a few who fit the QPR "here-for-the money" mentality.

Also along the same lines they're not his player so he is basically criticizing Hughes and his transfer policy, whilst putting pressure on the owner for signings. He is as dodgie as a second hand car salesman but a canny one all the same.

Good article in the Observer today. I thought this refusal to speak to the Mail meant he wouldn't give them an interview. The way inread this article, in a press conference he answered other questions but just ignored the bloke from the Mail. If that's right then I quite agree with the Obs journo who described it as 'pathetic'. I'd add rude, embarrassing, unnecessary and childish.

No way to do things - like the Porn Brothers when they were at the accursed gypsy ground throwing their toys out of the pram with the Mail or the Post for the first 5 years for daring to suggest things were not brilliant all the time.

Somebody should mix a dance track of it. Autotune Lambert saying 'we pick ourselves up and we go again' over and over with a decent beat in the background.
We pick ourselves up right about now and go again brother, right about now, we pick ourselves up right about now, we pick ourselves up and go again, pickpickpickpickpickpick right about now we pick ourselves up and go again, right about now, we pick ourselves up and go again go again go again gain gain gain. The funk so Villa, right about now.

Really, who'd have thunk it......it's not like it might be irony or goldie or anyfiink?

He's said it again today.

Mr Lambert - pick yourself up, your coaches up , your bags up, your P45 up and FUCK OFF
(Yes I am annoyed, frustrated, disappointed, gutted, pissed off, embarassed but this is just going from bad to worse.)
-
Yeah Lambert! You should have cleared that ball inside five minutes and not passed it straight back to Corzolla.

All hail the incredible Lambert !! - the guy is a complete waste of oxygen ....He buys the players, picks the team, orchestrates the coaching, decides the tactics etc So who`s fault is it we are in the shit? - and I am not just talking about today`s game as you well know - this dick has overseen the worst result in our entire history, lost to all of those around us and saw us defeated in a semi final by a 4th Division side for Christ`s sake. How can anyone defend that?

Lambert "But we certainly didn't deserve to lose the game."
This guy is totally deluded

And yet the Villa fans were singing 'Paul Lambert's claret and blue army' at one point whilst we were losing today, and I didn't notice any vitriol directed at him when he came to thank us at the end of the game - so there's definitely a mixture of opinion about him. It didn't feel like many people in the away section were blaming him today.

I don't think we deserved to lose either. That said, I thought it was entirely predictable. IMO we don't do ourselves justice for our good play, by collectively being so defensively brittle. Lambert hasn't given me much confidence that he is able to sort this brittleness out, especially by failing to bring in a centre back in January. I suppose we would all be more reassured if he was saying 'we have to stop conceding late goals, and we will be working on this in training'. I really hope that the fact that he is not saying this doesn't mean that it isn't happening.
-
I agree with him, I don't think we deserved to lose either.
-
I agree with him, I don't think we deserved to lose either.
Bu we did and will continue to do so until it is mathematically impossible to stay in the Premier League an only then will many deluded people realise we have been sold down the river heading for the rapids. Can we open a book on the date that will be?
-
I agree with him, I don't think we deserved to lose either.
The thing is, whether that's right or not, at some point we need to actually win some games or take more points when not expected to.
I don't think anyone thought that we'd win today, so no shock there, but it is the persistence of the same old problems which we've had all season that makes people think we're not going to be winning too many games in a hurry.
I'm utterly sick to the tits of conceding goals after 80 minutes. Today it was against Arsenal, but genuinely, I'd back any team fighting to get something from a match against us to score at the arse end of the game because we are, week in, week out, utterly brainless and go to fucking pieces.
No indication today that we've learned from that, and whilst other areas have improved, there's nothing like enough to suggest we've sufficiently improved where we really need to.
If that sounds doomish, it isn't meant to be, I'm a Lambert supporter still, but those are the things we've seen week in, week out, all season now.
-
I am not deluded thanks.
-
Yes but it wasnt gung ho laying siege like Everton did. They played tippy tappy tarty shite, at 1-1 IMO if we'd gone for it and got 'up em' we'd have won. They were no were near the Arsenal of even 2 years ago.... Mind you we are nowhere near the Villa of 2 years ago either.
-
The Arsenal of 2 up years ago etc is utterly irrelevant as is the Villa of 2 years ago. We weren't quit e good enough to get a draw.
We were in the pub with gooners after the game and they were all relived that had played us. After a week from hell they had an easy home game with little threat from good oldVilla. We. We're shitter than Blackburn last week and allowed them to win a game where they were shitting themselves after being defensively inept.
That is how shit we we really were. They never felt scared.
-
I am not deluded thanks.
Who said you were ?
(Paranoid perhaps?)
Only kidding :)
-
I agree with him, I don't think we deserved to lose either.
The high level stats suggest otherwise
Shots on target : 14 v 3
Corners : 12 v 3
Possession was ok we had 48%
-
Stats...lies, damn lies and statistics. To say we didn't deserve to lose you must take into account more than figures. Arsenal were the home team and were set up to pressure us in our half, we were set up to resist this pressure and to try and hit them on the break. Hence the stats will tell you that Aresenal dominated the attacking game. The evidence of our eyes tells us that we played well, within the confines of our gameplan, and were 5 minutes away from earning a deserved draw.

Which ever way you look at it, the bottom line is that we lost when we had a very good chance of getting something from the game... yet again!
